All to yourself

This century old Homestead was owned by the Huey family with a lake in front named after them.  We have been the owners for over 10 years with 100 acres of combined pasture and forested land.  We have worked diligently to conserve the land and nature around to create a peaceful nest for ourselves and others to enjoy and experience.  Explore the nature trails in the forest or walk around and discover the gardens and greenhouses and make friends with the chickens.  Our cozy cabin sits on our hilltop property, a century-old homestead with a lake and 100 acres of pasture and forest. The cabin accommodates two people with a loft sleeping area (involves stairs) and has a kitchen, small sitting area, wood stove, and lots of windows to bring in the light and enjoy the views. Our property is near several beaches, hiking trails, and local restaurants.  The cabin sits a short distance along the driveway from the homestead where the hosts live. There is a flush toilet inside the cabin but toilet paper (or anything else) is prohibited in order to protect the septic system. Huey Lake sits on the property and offers fishing and canoeing in the summer and ice-skating in the winter.  On the property, you can explore the nature trails in the forest, walk around the gardens, and greet the chickens. Or check out nearby sights such as the Gaff Point hiking trail, Crescent Beach, or Rissers Beach Provincial Park. Windsurfing, kayaking, surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding are available in the area. For food, LaHave is a 10-minute drive and known for its bakery. The picturesque community of Mahone Bay is about 35 km north of the homestead.
