We are OPEN despite the current issues. No fires are allowed due to provincial bans. Enjoy the quiet skyline and maybe even catch a glimpse of the local wildlife. Our grass lots are backed with lush Appalachian forest and leads way to a slow brook where you can wade with the tide or try your hand at fishing or simply sit by the fire and enjoy the solitude. Check in is self guided as there is no host on site but you'll find it simple as all sites, as well as the toilet area is well marked with signage. This doesn’t mean we aren’t here to help, you can reach us 24/7 via text. We are Located just off the Acadian Coastal Drive and minutes from the beautiful Fundy shore. You can bring your tent, RV, van or camper and choose from 4 fantastic sites. 1-30 amp service, 2 roadside non-serviced as well as one privative forested site and 3 tent sites. All sites are equipped with a fire pit and access to our outhouse restroom. Wood is available for purchase if you didn’t bring your own! We are currently fencing in the entire property to make it a dog/cat and livestock safe area so pets can enjoy a safer experience . This will be done in stages so hang tight with us until this is completed. You can also explore New Brunswick with a drive on Acadian Coastal Drive ·Appalachian Range Route · Fundy Coastal Drive · Miramichi River Route or Fundy Coastal Drive Stop by and visit Murray Corner Provincial park for a swim and watch the tide roll out. Looking to see multiple provinces?? We are in the perfect spot to see all of what the East coast has to offer. View PEI’s spectacular Confederation Bridge from the shoreline and take a drive to PEI which is only minutes from us. Mainland Nova Scotia is less than a 30 minute drive and if your adventurous and want to drive the Cabot Trail then you can reach Cape Breton Island in under 2 hours! Catch a Ferry to Newfoundland if your heart desires. PEAK SEASON (May 1- Sept 31) OFF GRID (Oct 1 -Dec 31 and March 15 - April 31) CLOSED for winter (Dec 31- March 14) There is no potable water on site however, we do have an out building with compostable toilet, shower/change area. Also - the island has mosquitos so please bring bug spray. WIFI is available at the store. Please no generators from 10pm-8am (some exceptions may apply). To find us Google maps sometimes does not like wood Islands as our city so please use Belle River. About 50m just west of our main entrance to the farm and store, you will see a farm road that is marked with "1167 FARM" address sign. Please use that road to come in and just after the little wooded section it will open up and you will see a picnic table to your right. You can park in there. If you need help with anything, just call my cell phone 902-326-1015 Please note that there could be another camper if booked, so please park accordingly. Store is located in the small white barn next to the white house. This property has two buildings for rent. One is called the Sweet Suite and the other is called Easy Street. The Sweet Suite contains a 3/4 bed and a pull out couch. There is a sink and a toilet. A deck with chairs, two burner butane camp stove. It is ideal for two people or three is close or family. Easy Street has a futon, A screened in area and an outside deck. It has a magnificent view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence including beach and capes. There is no toilet but I will provide a camp toilet that you will be responsible for emptying if used. It is ideal for a couple or two people who don't mind being close. There is an outside shower and courtyard to service both buildings. The courtyard has a table and chairs, BBQ that guests are welcome to use. Guests will have access to a set of stairs that lead to the water. This is an off the grid property. The electricity is fueled by solar panels into batteries. Internet is available. There is a washing machine and a clothes line. If you are the least bit uptight and need everything to be perfect this property is not for you. Ruth lives on the property in a separate building and is excited to share the beauty with like minded, appreciative people.

This property has two buildings for rent. One is called the Sweet Suite and the other is called Easy Street. The Sweet Suite contains a 3/4 bed and a pull out couch. There is a sink and a toilet. A deck with chairs, two burner butane camp stove. It is ideal for two people or three is close or family. Easy Street has a futon, A screened in area and an outside deck. It has a magnificent view of the Gulf of St. Lawrence including beach and capes. There is no toilet but I will provide a camp toilet that you will be responsible for emptying if used. It is ideal for a couple or two people who don't mind being close. There is an outside shower and courtyard to service both buildings. The courtyard has a table and chairs, BBQ that guests are welcome to use. Guests will have access to a set of stairs that lead to the water. This is an off the grid property. The electricity is fueled by solar panels into batteries. Internet is available. There is a washing machine and a clothes line. If you are the least bit uptight and need everything to be perfect this property is not for you. Ruth lives on the property in a separate building and is excited to share the beauty with like minded, appreciative people.

We had a great two night stay at the Owl's Nest cabin. Helmut answered all of our questions before we left and transported us to the cabin to show us around the cabin and property. Cabin is secluded and off-grid. Our dog was not a fan of the steep stairs to the loft. Don't forget to bring your orange vest and remember to check for ticks. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay at Owl’s Nest! Helmut treated you like family, sharing his experiences tending the forest and the cabin that he built. If you’re looking for a place to get off-grid, connect with nature, and be able to explore the many trails just outside your door, this is the place! We especially appreciated how the land was private, so that we could let our pup explore without worrying about running into any other dog owners. It was a great to share this cabin and we will certainly be coming back!

Ruth's place is amazing. If you want a quiet and private place with the most beautiful view, this is it. I loved it. The outdoor shower is amazing (and big enough for two), plus the screened in porch so no bugs! Lots of bunnies, sea gulls, little bitty squirrels with attitude that'll make you laugh.

We would have preferred a spot that was easier to maneuver BUT it was exactly as the pictures showed. We have 2 beagles and we worried that other campers might not be as fond of their songs as we are. But by quiet time (11pm) they were settled in. The ONLY unfortunate part of our stay was the large group of young people who didn't start drinking until after 11. At 230, my wife screamed, "Go to bed!" One of them yelled, "Sorry." But it still went on until after 3. They got our dogs and at least one other barking. Except for that one group, the campground was quiet after 11, and earlier, i dont think we hear a single loud voice. If there were dogs besides ours and the one we were travelling with, we never heard them. Better control of the 11pm quiet time is the only suggestion I have. Paula was a wonderful host and the campground is beautiful. Coyotes were in full song just as we were going to bed. The bathroom facilities were probably the nicest and cleanest that we've ever seen at a campground.

Magical. Quiet. Private. Beautiful. I totally enjoyed my getaway to Ruth's "Easy Street" hipcamp. Right on the water and away from the world, it was exactly the getaway location I'd hoped for, so I even stayed an extra day. The outdoor shower is fantastic. The endless changing beauty from sunrise to sunset will amaze you. I plan to return next year.

Ruth welcomed me for my weekend stay as her very first Hipcamp guest, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. The property sits just steps from the water and a nearby beach, and it’s well set up with a full kitchen (complete with a pizza oven!). She provided much-needed coffee and great conversation, which made the stay feel extra warm and personal. I even got to use the pizza oven with fresh dough I picked up from a local pizza truck. Ruth was an absolutely wonderful host, and I’d definitely stay here again. All around, an amazing spot.

We stayed there for 2 nights as a base camp for cycling, The area is wonderful. Unfortunately, we did not have much time to enjoy the two very private beaches. It felt strange to pass on somebody land to access the beach. However, we did chat with the owner, she was very nice and had no issues. If we go back to PEI, we will definitely consider to go back to this site.

L.M. Montgomery’s Cavendish National Historic Site is a cultural landscape that embraces the landscape near Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, that author L. M. Montgomery knew so well and made famous in her “Anne of Green Gables” books. The designated area includes the Green Gables house, Montgomery’s Cavendish home, and several landscape features such as the Haunted Wood Trail, Balsam Hollow Trail and Lover’s Lane, dear to Montgomery and familiar to her readers. The Site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Home The Site of Lucy Maud Montgomery's Cavendish Home is the farm of Montgomery’s maternal grandparents where she lived for the first 37 years of her life. This farmscape incorporates the ruins of the house and farm buildings that existed in Montgomery’s time, as well as the wooded groves and pathways described in her stories. Please note: This site is not included in the Discovery Pass or the Green Gables Heritage Place entry fee. Green Gables Heritage Place The second area encompasses Green Gables, the neighbouring farmstead which inspired the setting of Montgomery’s most famous novel, "Anne of Green Gables" published in 1908. The site includes the house in its natural setting with surroundings that inspired both her imagination and her fiction including the Haunted Wood, the site of the schoolhouse, Lover’s Lane and the babbling brook. Together these landscapes evoke both Montgomery’s real life and the fictional world she created.
