The Owl’s Nest
This cabin is a lovely, secluded forest spot to bath in nature. The host is very friendly and it was a delight to share his corner of the world for the week. Next time we'd prepare better for the walk to/from car and shoreline, as the mosquitos along the way were vicious, and required full cover. Having fresh water and ice delivered was a treat of a trade off, and getting to see the bee hives up close was a highlight. One of the better beds we've slept on in our travels, with a great view of the trees. A special spot. Cooking equipment is very minimal. In the warmer months, bringing a camping stove is recommended.

Helmut made this stay incredible for me and my family. We were 5 people in total and everyone had a great time! Besides great location, firewood, and other joys of civilization you are getting Ana amazing host that treats you like family and is ready to help with anything. 10/10
This spot was perfect for us as a quick stop en route to PEI. The site is steps away from a small breakwater wall that can be easily scrambled down for walking on the flats at low tide. The site was quiet and the night we stayed, clear and with a full moon making for really lovely views from the tent. Don’t forget the bug spray and citronella candles if no breeze!
THIS PLACE IS AMAZING!!! Where do I even start!? Helmut, the owner and host, is one of the kindest people I have ever met. When you pull into the property, he will meet you and take you + your belongings to the cabin. Its about a 10 minute ride. He maintains every inch of land and you can see the love he pours into it. The property is beautiful and well looked after. Helmut has crafted countless trails for you to explore. We saw a very cute porcupine! The cabin is too hot in the summer to use the stove indoors. But there is a bbq on site! There is also a large fire pit! My favorite part was the two person hammock, which was perfect for relaxing and listening to the countless birds singing. Definitely bring bug spray. The upstairs has a queen bed, a single bed, and a camping cot! There are blankets and a couple pillows provided, but bring sheets and your own pillows if you like them thick! The upstairs is also quite warm during the day in the summer, but the bed is comfortable and you'll love waking up beside the big windows to take in the morning forest sights. A barred owl paid us a visit in the night, and it was so cool to listen to her hooting. Helmut came to pick us up the next morning and gave us a tour of the trails to see the owl nest he built, on the way back! Overall, the best way to celebrate our second wedding anniversary. We will be back again!! Thank you SO much Helmut!!
Words can't even describe how amazing this place is!! Perfect spot to disconnect, recharge, and enjoy nature. The cabin is very well equipped and Helmut is an amazing host. He's very friendly, knowledgeable, punctual, and accommodating !

Beautiful. Despite the rain the weather cleared up and was able to enjoy walking along the low tide sandy shores. Helmut was super helpful and even provided some firewood for our stay. Will definitely recommend, very quiet and relaxing.

The Owl’s Nest
Just wow. Had the most relaxing evening at the Owl's Nest with my family. Cooked fresh salmon over the wood stove, played board games over candlelight, and the best part....... We saw a momma and baby owl perched in the woods. We are so lucky!
Really lovely place and host. Would recommend to anyone who wants a nice view!

We just got back from my stay and we
are already planning to book again for the winter— that’s how great this place is! It is a serene, beautiful property and the cabin is so cozy and well built. Helmut is a wonderful host. He cares for his land and the environment extremely well.
We had a great two night stay at the Owl's Nest cabin. Helmut answered all of our questions before we left and transported us to the cabin to show us around the cabin and property. Cabin is secluded and off-grid. Our dog was not a fan of the steep stairs to the loft. Don't forget to bring your orange vest and remember to check for ticks. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

The Owl’s Nest
We absolutely loved our stay at Owl’s Nest! Helmut treated you like family, sharing his experiences tending the forest and the cabin that he built. If you’re looking for a place to get off-grid, connect with nature, and be able to explore the many trails just outside your door, this is the place! We especially appreciated how the land was private, so that we could let our pup explore without worrying about running into any other dog owners. It was a great to share this cabin and we will certainly be coming back!

The property was beautiful and Helmut was very friendly. We felt welcomed right away and loved the ocean views, especially at sunset.
We had a short stay but loved every minute of it❤️. We would definitely go back again and would recommend this place to anybody.
Thank you to Helmut and his family for sharing their private property with those of us looking for a little seclusion in the sunshine, under the stars and by the water.
Helmut was so nice, and his cabin was exceptional. We were nested into the forrest, cut from the rest of the world. The cabin has everything you need, including a pump and head shower, perfect for a quick wash. I would definitely recommend!
Can't imagine a nicer private waterfront location on the bay across from Prince Edward Island. So quiet, and we were greeted by a nice sunset and wonderful hosts.

Helmut was a very welcoming host and his spot is beautiful. We got to explore the beach and meet his wonderful bees! 🐝🏕️ We will for sure be back!
I had a fantastic time at this spot and thanks to helmut our host he made it that jeun better. We ended up staying 1.5 days due to the heavy wind and the fire ban (both out of our hosts control) but he was very helpful setting up our tents, providing us with his bbq in his garage to cook and offered us a place through a neighbor friend who wasn’t far either.
I would definitely and highly recommend helmut and this space.
We drive from montreal just to see the ocean and Ute as worth it. Also-the stars at night were amazing. You can really appreciate the clean air, the minimum pollution and traffic in this province and the time and space to connect to nature.
Thank you Helmut for such a great time.
Besides being the cabin weve ever been to, this cabin is perfect to get away from it all. We really felt recharged and rested and able to reconnect with nature. We saw plenty of different birds, including a flock of Cedar Waxwings and Woodpeckers. The wild blackberries also make for a delicious treat while exploring the surroundings. The atmosphere inside the cabin, during day or night, compares to no other. It is a pleasure for the senses and its solid wood structure has hints Alpine Forest wilderness.
You can not go wrong booking the owl's nest.

It was awesome, just me and my dogs walking on the beach at low tide....no one else in sight.

Highly recommend. A great spot, overlooking the “Baie Verte,” right on the ocean. Host Hrlmut is a wonderful guy, super hospitable, and clearly loves the land he is stewarding. The potable water, picnic table, and fire pit are nice touches. Usual summer mosquitos are present.
This was the perfect spot for me. I love that there is no electricity as it is getting closer to how the Creator made the land.
Helmet is wonderful; kind and accommodating. I plan on going back in the fall.

What a beautiful place. The host was amazing, we will come back for sure. The cabin was cozzy, the wood and the beach were magical. I would recommand this place to any nature lovers.
We stayed here for our last night of our trip from Ontario to the Maritimes. HUGE forest plus the most amazing views of the Northumberland Strait with the warmest saltwater we found anywhere on the East Coast. The Owl's Nest Cabin is nestled deep in the woods a cool 10 min ride from where we parked the car and Helmut took us on his side by side with all our gear and came to pick us up again in the morning. The beautiful wood cabin built by Helmut with wood from his lot was an amazing place to rest our heads (even with the moose crashing through the woods at night!). We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely book again.

Helmut is a wonderful host with a beautiful property for tenting!
Beautiful location. Serene and perfect for dropping off the face of the planet for a moment. Birdsong was beautiful. You have everything you need at the cabin to function as a normal human. Just no wifi and low cell service, which is perfect. And I am assuming it might be a little stuffy upstairs on really hot days- I was afraid I'd be chilly at night but it was really the opposite- a little warm. (I went in early July) To get to the coastal area from here, it's about a 25 minute walk down a dirt road- thought that was notable because I was worried about ticks but the path/road isn't too grassy or anything. If you go on the trails though, I'm sure the bugs and ticks might be more of a concern so might need boots/ clothing to cover up. The coast is along a main road and is mostly rocky so make sure to go out during low tide. Bring bug spray! The mosquitos are no joke. Thanks Helmut for creating this space for others to be able to get away from it all! 10/10 recommend- just be prepared for the elements.
This off grid cabin was everything we could have hoped for! The cabin is about 1km from where the car gets parked but Helmut was so kind and thoughtful, transporting us and all our stuff to the cabin on our schedule and making sure we had everything we need. The cabin has everything you could need in the absence of electricity (candles, lanterns, bbq, French press, battery operated outdoor shower).
The property the cabin is on is so peaceful with endless trails to explore. It is walkable to the beach (~1km) if desired. However, Helmut’s appreciation for nature is contagious, making you not want to leave the property anyway. Helmut gave us an unforgettable experience showing us around the property and sharing his knowledge of the landscape and how to interact with it sustainably.
The bugs were bad this time of year (end of June) and you always have to be prepared to encounter wildlife. But neither of those things could dampen the incredibly enjoyable time we had at the Owl’s Nest. We want to come back and try staying here in every season!
