The historic barns, deep swimming pond, sugar house, and stunning woods with trails that have 2 disc golf baskets all provide ample space, entertainment and privacy for a quiet and relaxing retreat. Learn more about this land: Come join us at the Gaylin Farms – home to four friendly goats, Newfoundland ponies, Chanticler chickens, two dogs and a cat. Stay at our completely private cabin (sleeps 3 comfortably, sleeping mats/air mattresses NOT provided) isolated within the centre of a gorgeous 25-acre forest with a private groomed c. 1.5 km walking/biking trail. The cabin is a 5-minute walk from the Trans Canada RailTrail which grants easy access for longer bike rides, runs, hikes, and four-wheeler adventures. You’ll walk through a horse pasture and a cow pasture on your way to the cabin. There is a large farm pond (10ft deep) on the property for swimming. Enjoy access to locally-sourced food, firewood (at a small fee), drinking water, a private firepit, small wood stove and our old-fashioned wood-fired cook stove. There is no electricity or running water (but we provide ample drinking water) and there can be access to a charger box so you may charge your devices or have a light at night. Bring your pets and enjoy a private retreat. The max capacity of the cabin is three people. An outhouse with double-duty bag and second luggable loo are available for all guests. Minimum stay: 2 nights. NEW ADDITION: A new room, a small annex, has been constructed to allow for downstairs sleeping and writing area. It is fully insulated with a wood stove so this area may be used year round. The annex gives one a deeper feeling of being a part of the woods.

You can bring your tent, RV, van or camper and choose from 4 fantastic sites. 1-30 amp service, 2 roadside non-serviced as well as one privative forested site and 3 tent sites. All sites are equipped with a fire pit and access to our outhouse restroom. Wood is available for purchase if you didn’t bring your own! We are currently fencing in the entire property to make it a dog/cat and livestock safe area so pets can enjoy a safer experience . This will be done in stages so hang tight with us until this is completed. You can also explore New Brunswick with a drive on Acadian Coastal Drive ·Appalachian Range Route · Fundy Coastal Drive · Miramichi River Route or Fundy Coastal Drive Stop by and visit Murray Corner Provincial park for a swim and watch the tide roll out. Looking to see multiple provinces?? We are in the perfect spot to see all of what the East coast has to offer. View PEI’s spectacular Confederation Bridge from the shoreline and take a drive to PEI which is only minutes from us. Mainland Nova Scotia is less than a 30 minute drive and if your adventurous and want to drive the Cabot Trail then you can reach Cape Breton Island in under 2 hours! Catch a Ferry to Newfoundland if your heart desires. PEAK SEASON (May 1- Sept 31) OFF GRID (Oct 1 -Dec 31 and March 15 - April 31) CLOSED for winter (Dec 31- March 14) There is no potable water on site however, we do have an out building with compostable toilet, shower/change area. (Bring your own Soap and Shampoo) unlimited firewood, and running water to have an unforgettable Ocean Front RV/camping/tenting experience. Don’t come camping if you don’t have the following: 1. A hatchet or axe. 2. A flashlight. 3. Shelter (tent). We supply a the view, water access, washroom, shower and firewood we don’t teach people how to start a fire or give them lessons on what to bring camping. Tatamagouche is home to the Tatamagouche Brewery, The Train Station Inn, The Creamery Square / Heritage Society (Anna Swan Museum) and the Balmoral Gristmill. (Bring your own Soap and Shampoo) unlimited firewood, and running water to have an unforgettable Ocean Front RV/camping/tenting experience. Don’t come camping if you don’t have the following: 1. A hatchet or axe. 2. A flashlight. 3. Shelter (tent). We supply a the view, water access, washroom, shower and firewood we don’t teach people how to start a fire or give them lessons on what to bring camping. Tatamagouche is home to the Tatamagouche Brewery, The Train Station Inn, The Creamery Square / Heritage Society (Anna Swan Museum) and the Balmoral Gristmill. We had a great two night stay at the Owl's Nest cabin. Helmut answered all of our questions before we left and transported us to the cabin to show us around the cabin and property. Cabin is secluded and off-grid. Our dog was not a fan of the steep stairs to the loft. Don't forget to bring your orange vest and remember to check for ticks. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay at Owl’s Nest! Helmut treated you like family, sharing his experiences tending the forest and the cabin that he built. If you’re looking for a place to get off-grid, connect with nature, and be able to explore the many trails just outside your door, this is the place! We especially appreciated how the land was private, so that we could let our pup explore without worrying about running into any other dog owners. It was a great to share this cabin and we will certainly be coming back!

Absolutely beautiful! What view! It's an off grid camping spot in the most beautiful area. There is an outhouse that was clean. Dan was quick to respond to any questions I had and check in to make sure I was okay or needed anything. That view though is everything. I would wake up looking out at that view everyday if I could. Also had 5g out there which was nice to still be connected. I will definitely be staying here again.

We surprised my parents with a stay at Bootsie Back 40 Cabin for their 40th anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! The hosts went above and beyond with every detail. The cabin itself is so cozy and welcoming, surrounded by stunning fall colors that made the whole experience magical. My parents loved the peace and quiet — they spent their mornings sipping tea while listening to the birds sing. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and even took photos of my parents for me, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also got to visit the farm animals (including two emus!), which they absolutely adored. Thank you for helping me give my parents such a memorable and heartfelt experience. This will be a trip they’ll cherish forever!

A beautiful camp site. Perched in a field up on a hill side over looking the bay of fundy. A sweet spot. Very secluded. A 10 minute walk down to the beach where we had a nice walk at low tide. Chignecto Park in West Advocate was closed due to the drought so no hiking there. Otherwise though a great stay. Thank you!

Charlene was the most incredible host! She was so kind, approachable, and informative. She texted us to find out our arrival time so that she could give us a tour of the property when we arrived—it was such a treat to meet all of the critters! She even moved our trailer back into the woods a bit so that we could have privacy and enjoy the pond. The trailer itself is very comfortable, with a toilet, sink, shower, fridge, and table with sitting room.

This property is 100% worth going out of your way for! We spent two nights, and unfortunately there was a fire ban and cloudy sky’s that obstructed star gazing, but even then waking up to the view from campsite 1 is spectacular. I didn’t see campsite 3, but 1 and 2 are both amazing- was able to get level with blocks in 24 ft. rig. The place is well marked on the road and it looks like the driveway has been recently graded- easy in our vehicle. Dan was very responsive. Would absolutely return, and if it were campfire weather- I’d spend multiple days relaxing there for sure! There is a road down to the water and rocky beach where you can watch the amazing tides roll out. If you’re on an open journey- worth spending some time in this spot and area.

About

A thriving Acadian settlement here became a pivotal site in the struggle between Great Britain and France for control of the Isthmus of Chignecto region. The village, under British rule since 1713, was burned by the French in 1750 to force the inhabitants into nearby French-controlled territory. The site's extensive archaeological resources, which include remarkable glass and ceramic artifacts and charred building remains, reflect both the Acadian way of life and the destruction of this village. Beaubassin remains a silent witness to the clash of two empires for power in North America.
