Decourcy Meadows is a peaceful forested site within a short walking distance to a safe local swimming beach.
We are an RV-only campsite. The site is level and can accommodate vehicles up to 40ft in length. Electrical, sewage, and potable water hookups included.
Amenities include a picnic table, wifi and a fire ring and some fire wood supplied at no cost. If there is a campfire ban in effect we will provide a propane campfire.
The property is about half natural forest and so it's not unusual to see local critters, large and small peeking out!
There are several hiking trails in the area and local parks as well. There are 3 artisans on Decourcy Drive. The world-famous Crow and Gate pub is 4 km from here and the historic Wheat Sheaf Hotel (Pub) is about 5 km. Local restaurants and Cafes, Groceries, Pharmacy are 5 km.
We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes.
Picturesque town of Ladysmith is about 25 minutes south and the very Unique town of Chemainus is 35 minutes and very worth seeing.

Wild Coast has 2 nightly campsites for you to enjoy. Site one is a large, flat open gravel base. And Site 2 is a large, flat grass based site. Please note you must have your own trailer or tent.
We’re a 5-10 minute drive to Rathtrevor beach/Parksville, Englishman River. We are right in the middle of an extensive trail network perfect for hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding.
Both sites have plenty of space for RVs and trailers - we can accommodate vehicles up to 45ft in length. 30 amp Electrical and potable water hookups are available on both sites. WI-FI onsite as well. There is a flush toilet and sink available in our farm store that is available for guest use. No shower yet, but we are working on it!
The property is private yet close to all amenities. Local favorite Rocking Horse Pub is a quick walk next door and a must-stop for dinner and drinks!
Centrally located on Vancouver Island, it’s a perfect spot to set up the rig and day trip out to Rathtrevor, Little Qualicum, Parksville, Coombs, Port Alberni valley and Nanaimo, or go for an overnighter in Victoria, Tofino, Mount Washington and the Comox Valley.
Campfires are permitted as long as there is no fire ban and we have dry firewood for sale onsite. If you would like firewood send us a message before you arrive.
Pets are welcome, but please be responsible for them. There is a large open grass field for you to let them run and burn off that energy.

There is a resort and marina across the road and an Italian kitchen restaurant . Shelter Point Distillery property is adjacent to the property. We would describe our property as: home…and a really fun place to grow up! Our parents thought that wasn’t descriptive enough for Hipcamp so they’ve helped us describe it more.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood in a forest that has been a source of peace, relaxation, and fun for us in our growing up years. We’ve noticed that people who visit here say they feel the same way.
With plenty of space for kids to explore and adults to relax, our 3 acre forest is perfect for down time with a book in the hammock or a nature walk before dinner.

A single, tidy campsite with picnic table surrounded by mature and gently manicured forest, as well as a hammock, and a new construction outhouse. (Go dad!)
We love hospitality, so though we won’t always be around when you’re here, if we are and you need something you can simply ask and we’ll do our best to provide what you need.
To help you feel welcome we provide a fresh, cool jug of drinking water and large container of fresh potable water as well as access to an outside tap to fill water containers if needed (upon request) , power to charge devices (upon request), and a campfire ring with firewood (sorry about the frequent fire bans. Huge bummer. We will post current fire ban status while you’re here.)

We are situated on a 1.5 acre plot, set amidst rural surroundings. It is a very quiet and peaceful community set on the shores of the lake and surrounded by magnificent trees and greenery. There is limited bus service about a 20 minute walk away so a car is recommended. We are about a 25 minute drive away from Sidney, where most people will arrive by plane or ferry from the mainland, and also about 25 minutes away from downtown Victoria. The driveway from the street up to the front of our house is a paved sloped driveway and from there the access to the camping site is a sloped and curving dirt road. You don’t need a four-wheel-drive to get up it. We just want to be sure you are aware. The area itself is a level piece of ground to the side of our house. It is approximately 30 ' X 30 ', big enough for a small camper van and a tent. Please note it’s not a camping space like you would find in a provincial park. There’s no picnic bench or fire pit. In any case open flames are not allowed. Portable propane powered camping stoves are fine. We can supply a couple of plastic chairs and a small cocktail sized table. The facilities are comprised of a toilet in a small room in our basement and a utility sink just outside, accessed through the sunroom and down the back stairs. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash or otherwise kept under control and not allowed to run loose. We have three cats ourselves, and they have access to the sunroom. We are just letting you know in case you are allergic. Also, we might occasionally sit in the sunroom ourselves and we don't mind you passing through on your way to and from the facilities, if you don't mind us being in there on occasion. There is no bath or shower available. You are advised to bring your own face and/or hand towels if needed. You also need to be prepared to take away your own recycling, garbage and organics.

Jim welcomed us warmly and happily.
He really helped us plan our stay on the island. We also talked with him about his life and life on Salt Spring, and we really hit it off. The evening before we left, he came to say goodbye, and it was really pleasant. We highly recommend staying with Jim.

Jim went above and beyond by responding to all of my messages in a timely manner when we were looking for somewhere to stay at very short notice . He even allowed us to check in early because we had a sizeable travel trailer in tow and had nowhere to safely leave it when we’re were between camping sites.
His property was clean and well maintained and located in a very quiet residential area just minutes from Ganges town. Jim was available to answer any questions we may have had about the area, places to go and sights to see. He has even built a viewing deck next to his home so that his guests can sit and enjoy the view of the ocean .
I’d def recommend staying here to anyone looking for camping on salt spring island.

Cool little spot on a great big property. Has a convenient back entrance right near the site. Just a short walk down the hill to the water, and a short walk to the outhouse. Pretty quiet, but with the occasional disc golf players playing through. Loved to visit with all the animals!

We had a really lovely stay in Rejeane's Forest. Water was supplied and the outhouse was nearby. The campsite was easy to find and the road that it is off of is very quiet. Everyone was very friendly and she was a really prompt, and accommodating host with a beautiful little forest for us to enjoy. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we would love to come back!

Wow, what a gem! Definitely a top Hipcamp experience. Gracious and welcoming hosts, beautiful property, and so many furry and feathered friends to hang with. The cats and chickens were particularly friendly. And great shower facilities! Would definitely stay here again.

We had a great stay at this Hipcamp. Jim is a great guy and has a nice level cement pad & full hookups - big picnic table -garbage cans, toilet - shower available for a fee & small fridge use & sink outdoors if needed! Short (but steep!) drive from town & a beautiful deck area above the campsites with a view of the water!! Highly recommend. Completely terrific. There are a few camping spots in his yard but they are not “too” close together. Others camping were nice.

We had a great stay in our little van on Jim's property. All amenities were as stated and he allows visitors to use his deck with a gorgeous view of mountains and lovely sunset. He made an extra effort with us and other arriving guests to tell us about hikes, bike rides and tips of what to do. This was a wonderful introduction to the Hipcamp community! We would love to stay there again!

I camped in my SUV, while there was also a full blown trailer RV unit and tenters. Maple Tree accomdated all scenarios very well. The campsite was clean and well laid out. Jim was more than a gracious host taking time to give me tips for exploring Salth Spring Island. I would stay there again.

Jim's place is great, we are happy we chose this site for our 2 nights on Salt Spring Island. Jim is a friendly host, the RV pad and hookups are excellent, and the location is wonderful. If you are towing a camper or driving an RV, be aware it is a steep climb to get to his place. The view from his viewing platform/deck is your reward for making the climb.
