Solar power provides you with all the lighting, shower-water pressure and technology charging you will need for your stay. There is no refrigeration onsite at the moment but access to a farm fridge can be arranged.
Quadra Island was recently rated by Forbes Magazine as #5 of its most up and coming travel locations in the world. Perhaps it was because of its natural beauty or the fact that it is a nearly mosquito free outdoor paradise. Quadra is the largest island in the Salish Sea. Endless recreational opportunities abound on the island. Hundreds of kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the island. Several guiding companies provide access to the world class kayaking and scuba diving off of Quadra's shores.
Do all that... or simply grab a book and curl up beside the pond or read a book in the hammock.

The cabin is winterized. The stove is actually to hot for the size of the cabin. It requires a little practice timing your fire and opening windows to keep it at the best temperature. Since we are all 'Hip" here... it just adds to the adventure. :) Oh yeah... bring boots. :) About once a year a rainstorm intense enough to overflow the stream you need to cross to the cabin overflows. In that case it is a bit of challenge getting there.

We are a quiet country getaway located 25 minutes from Nanaimo Departure Bay Ferry Terminal. Duke Point Terminal is about 20 minutes.

We have a dachshund on the property that is friendly and old ( barks at strangers but is all bark I assure you, he just wants to be friends)

Recently, as a family, we have seen a large increase in the people traveling to the Sunshine Coast to escape the city limits. Unable to rock up to a campsite and pick our spot like we used to, it was easy to see a growing demand. We have taken everything we love about camping and done our best to give you a sense of what life on the Coast is really about.
Please note: By entering onto the property you release all liabilities towards us as hosts. You are choosing to camp in a forested area that contains many hazards as well as potential threats. These include but are not limited to; Wild life (bears, bob cats, cougars etc), Fire is a serious threat to this region during summer months strict no smoking policy is in effect. Care should be taken walking around uneven surfaces. All campers are required to stay within camp boundaries fail to follow these protocols will result in being asked to leave.

Everyone has easy access to the spa-like washrooms with coin-operated hot showers and flush toilets. Children 8 years old and under must be accompanied by an adult in the Wash house. There’s a dish washing station in the center of the Wash House where you can refill your water jugs and bottles or wash dishes. Please do not use for washing hair or laundry or tooth brushing. We ask that you conserve water and keep the Wash House clean.

Please note, these are walk-in campsites. Park and make a short walk to your beautiful campsite. One large grass pasture is available upon request for car, campervan and RV camping.
My fully stocked pavilion, kitchen and lounge has all the cookware, dishware and utensils needed to prepare your meal. There is also a BBQ and Coleman stove with propane provided. Drinking water is provided. Firewood is sold onsite for when campfires are permitted. Propane fire pit rentals available.
For bathing I have cold showers and seasonal warm solar showers on hot days. Plus an aquifer-fed pond for clean, cold water dips.

We are located on a quiet residential street 20 minutes from Port Alberni and en route to Tofino or Ucluelet. We have walking and mountain biking trails minutes from the house.
If you are bringing a fur baby, please let us know. It must be on a leash at all times. Please bring your fur baby's favorite blanket or bed to sleep on. We can also provide a comfy hound bed in the room at your request. We kindly ask that you keep your fur baby off the furniture and bed, and that you please not leave your pet unattended.
The Portal has no internet and reception is spotty. There is one outlet for charging, etc. Parking is on-site. Local food options include the "The Fish & Duck Pub" which is just a short walk away. Call Doordash to deliver a meal from one of our local restaurants, such as Sproat Lake Landing, or bring a picnic to enjoy.

Perhaps it was because of its natural beauty or the fact that it is a nearly mosquito free outdoor paradise. Quadra is the largest island in the Salish Sea. Endless recreational opportunities abound on the island. Hundreds of kilometres of hiking and mountain biking trails crisscross the island. Several guiding companies provide access to the world class kayaking and scuba diving off of Quadra's shores.

The cabin is winterized. The stove is actually to hot for the size of the cabin. It requires a little practice timing your fire and opening windows to keep it at the best temperature. Since we are all 'Hip" here... it just adds to the adventure. :) Oh yeah... bring boots. :) About once a year a rainstorm intense enough to overflow the stream you need to cross to the cabin overflows. In that case it is a bit of challenge getting there.

We ask that you conserve water and keep the Wash House clean.

Welcome to our secluded and peaceful camping spot nestled on our 10-acre family property, formerly a Poplar Plantation. Located just 1 minute from Alberni Highway in Qualicum Beach, our site offers over 1 km of trails to explore, with the opportunity to wander through lavender or sunflower fields depending on the season. Bring the kids to explore and find more than 40 fairy houses along the trails. Dogs are free to roam off leash.

We provide 50 amp and separate 30 amp hookups, filtered potable water, and a grey water dump (no black water) along with dedicated site Wi-Fi access. Your trailer or RV can enjoy a spacious 50 x 15 area, with room for one additional vehicle and multiple tents on grass. We also provide a picnic table for your convenience.

Propane fire pit or full-size BBQ rental ($5 per day including propane)
Large tote of pre split firewood $10
SUP or kayak rental with deposit (please inquire)

Our location also serves as a great stopping point on your trip to Tofino, just 1 minute off the Alberni Hwy.

Beautiful secluded hideaway right in the heart of magical Gabriola Island. Minutes walk through boardwalks and community gardens to our little village. The public property next to mine known as ‘ the commons, often hosts many outdoor music and community events. Mermaid Marsh is Bordering on 700 acres of picturesque walking trails. Close to many breathtaking beaches. You’ll be surrounded by gardens, marshland, nature & forest.
The property is under construction to be a hipcamp dream. Wanted to get bookings available for summer! There is space to set up your own tent or I have a Glamping site which will be furnished including a queen bed in a 10 by 14 canvas wall tent. There will be composting toilets. An outdoor clawfoot tub, and coming soon a traditional Finnish sauna. Also offerings for island adventures such as paddling or foraging hikes, yoga and reiki. There is a 10pm noise bylaw on island so being respectful of that and other campers with no excessive noise after 10 is appreciated.

This cabin is located on a remote island and is only accessible by water taxi, private boat, float plane charter, kayak or canoe. The water taxi runs Monday, Wednesday, Friday in the summer months and costs $140 per adult one way. It is not unusual to see whales and other wildlife on the journey to Read Island on this boat trip! Located a 10 minute walk from the ocean, this private tiny home cabin offers visitors a unique authentic off-grid island experience. Explore the ponds and enjoy special nature trails. Relax in nature and savor wild life observations. Connect to nature during beach visits, hiking trails and swimming at the lake.
The tiny home features a queen bed in the loft, twin bed downstairs, outdoor hot shower, full kitchen with bar fridge and propane range. A sauna (if fires permitted) composting toilets and outdoor showers are available.
Use the tiny home deck to gather and eat under the sun and stars. Relax in the comfy patio furniture or chill out in a shady hammock. Campfires are allowed in the fire pit when permitted.
Add - ons : Organic sourdough bread, firewood. The hosts are willing to help coordinate a unique stay including boat transport (Way West Water Taxi from Campbell River), food shopping, baking, etc at an agreed cost. Please contact us if you would like any add ons well ahead of time.
Activities:
Explore the Discovery Islands through boating, fishing, or wildlife tours. Paddle sports like kayaking and paddleboarding offer opportunities to deeper connections to nature and wildlife.
Located 3 hours paddling from Quadra Island, and 2 hours by water taxi from Campbell River, this property is located on a totally off grid remote island. The land is located in a quiet residential neighborhood of private acreages which are mostly forested.
Other things to note : this property is in a remote location with no stores or medical services.

A lovely place to stay, would definetly come again! Carson and Joanne were such kind and welcoming hosts. We got to feed the chickens and learn more about their property and the bunkhouse. Well supplied kitchen and a cozy living space with a bunch of games (with Catan!) Can't wait to be back!

The Doighouse is a beautiful site nestled in the trees. Listening to the rain on the cabins metal roof was heavenly. The hosts are incredibly considerate, welcoming and warm. I would highly recommend if you're looking for a nice spot to just get away from life for a few days!

We stayed at Colin's property for one frosty night in January. The site was easy to locate and get situated even in the dark hours of our arrival. Come morning we discovered a beautiful forest and marsh space with many ponds. Wild birds were warming up in the morning sun as we had a quick breakfast before heading out. The space was perfect for a private & safe stay among nature.

Loved our stay here on new year's eve! The cabin stayed warm enough with the wood stove going, and we really enjoyed having the place to ourselves.
There are some great mountain biking trails about 20 minutes up a double track road and over a creek crossing. Thanks Christian for being a great host!

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
Christian's forest sanctuary is just that! The work he has put into the cabin, surrounding grounds and water features is amazing. If fairies were real they would live here! Everything you could possibly need is provided. Bring lots of tea lites with you. I would also recommend bringing headlamps/lanterns if you are staying in the winter time. Christian is an amazing host and a lovely human being. Enjoy your stay, we certainly did.

Weekend Trip to Forest Sanctuary Cabin
My partner and I spent 4 nights/5 days at the cabin in the forest and it was magical. Disconnecting from wi-fi, electricity, and reconnecting to the simplicity of nature and each other was a beautiful way to connect to ourselves and the land around us. We became fire tenderers, watched the sunrise and sunset, befriended with the trees, cried over the beauty of the sky and the world around us.
It was a truly unique experience and Christian was so hospitable, going above and beyond in making sure our trip was a good one. He also recommended a bunch of local areas to check out. The people at Roberts Creek and the surrounding area are incredibly nice! There are a lot of cute restaurants, art, and shops to check out. We visited book shops, music stores, unique clothing stores, and more. There was a lot of personality in every place we saw. And the beach was beautiful.
We went during the winter and it was raining and cold, but it was also very cozy. We read books and made drawings over candle light. The fire kept us warm and there are plenty of blankets in the cabin. Even though there was no running hot water, it was easy enough to boil water to wash-up or visit the local pool for a hot shower.
I would recommend this Forest Sanctuary to anyone looking for a chill place to visit. Christian is very sweet and so was everyone we met. Getting back to nature was fun and I would come back again. It's a great place for a romantic getaway and I'd love to bring friends in the future.

We did end up booking a tour with them of their place which was truly spectacular and original. Me and my parter have already discussed when we will return next. Where to go
Tribune Bay Provincial Park
Home to the sandy beach and warm water of Tribune Bay, this provincial park is one of the most popular spots on Hornby Island. There are a few camping options within walking distance of the park, including the largest campground on the island, Tribune Bay Campground. Make sure you book a Tribune Bay campsite in advance, as it gets very busy in summer. An outdoor adventure centre also entertains families with tent camping. Just remember: Don’t confuse family-friendly Tribune Bay Beach with Little Tribune Bay Beach—the “little” one is clothing-optional.
Helliwell Provincial Park
At the southeast tip of the island is Helliwell Provincial Park. There is no camping within the park, but on a small island such as this, the campgrounds near Tribune Bay are also close to Helliwell. The park is popular for birding and wildlife watching, canoeing, and even scuba diving, as well as hiking along the bluffs for stunning bay views. Head north to Whaling Station Bay for a swim—it’s one of the most popular beaches on the island.
Ford's Cove and Mount Geoffrey Escarpment Park
On the west side of the island, Ford’s Cove has a small campground, a marina, and a shop. The beach is known for strange rock formations, which campers check out before heading onto the water for fishing or kayaking from Ford’s Cove. You can also stay on land to take the short walk to Mount Geoffrey Provincial Park. Here, you can hike, bike, or horseback ride on the three trails, and take in the views from the rocky cliffs.
