One Green Sheep is a 500 acre working farm north of Bindoon, Western Australia, with beautiful breakaways and valleys, patches of natural vegetation and old stand trees in amongst pockets of cropped land. We are just over an hour from Perth at the very north end of the Darling Range with enormous starry night skies.
My husband Kim and I have a strong focus on the environment and sustainability in our every day lifestyle and care for the land. Over the last 12 years or so we have planted almost 79,000 trees and shrubs successfully establishing wildlife corridors right across the property. We now also have 20 artificial nest tubes to support the Carnabys black cockatoos who return each August to breed. Our intention is to leave the land in a better state than when we first came here and we now want to share the wonderful environment with others, providing a place to get away and recharge as well as get excited about nature and all its wonders.
In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) you will need to purchase firewood from us for your stay. Please note that due to the Perth area now being in the Polyphagus Shothole Borer quarantine area you are no longer be able to bring firewood with you from the city. This is to safeguard our precious site and the surrounding bush. (Please get in touch with us if you aren't coming from Perth).
Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes (or ebikes), or to explore on foot, but motorbikes are not permitted.
We’d love to welcome you to this wonderful ecosystem. You will be camping in an area natural bush that feels a million miles from the city.
We are open from 1 June to 30 September each year, the months when campfires are permitted.
Please be sure to read the 'Rules' prior to booking for the finer details about what you need to know.

Treetops view is a big campsite tucked away at the end of the road. It’s an open area with clear views of the sky, surrounded by natural bushland.
With plenty of room to gather around the fire pit you can admire the view through the tops of the trees below, watch the sky change colour as the sun sets or plan your walks through the bush looking at wildflowers or searching for the spring nearby. Kangaroos and other wildlife are often seen in the afternoon and from August onwards you will hear the endangered Carnabys black cockatoos calling especially in the afternoons. At night enjoy the vast starry sky and keep an ear out for the mopoke who lives somewhere in this part of the bush.

Due to the polyphagus shothole borer quarantine rules firewood cannot be brought in at the present time. You will need to purchase firewood on site from us (either on booking or message prior to arriving to order) if you wish to light a campfire. Thank you for helping protect our precious old trees here. Fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) so please leave it undisturbed.
After you’ve gone we shouldn’t see anything to let us know you have been there, apart from some ash in the fire pit. The old adage of Take Only Photographs, Leave Only Footprints is a good one.

Birdsong corner – This is a site with options! You can either choose to camp in the open clearing looking down the hill through the trees, or tuck away beside an ancient old marri tree. Wake up to the sounds of the birds, the leaves rustling in the trees and the fresh clean air.
The fire pit is waiting for you to set up and enjoy a drink listening to the sounds of the bush while the sun goes down and the stars come out. At night keep an ear out for the mopoke and an eye out for the owl who also lives somewhere in the bush nearby and if the moon is large, don’t be surprised if the magpies start up again once the moon rises. This is a great spot to enjoy a bit of star gazing.

Echidna hideaway is a beautiful drive-through site tucked amongst the trees. If the kids want their own spot there are some small clearings where they can pitch a small tent.
The fire pit is waiting for you to enjoy a drink and, once the sun goes down, to explore the vast starry sky. Keep an eye out for the kangaroos who often hop through the bush nearby and for the signs of the echidnas who dig at the base of the termite mounds you will see in the bush. There is also plenty of bird life and, from August, you will hear the endangered Carnabys black cockatoos calling. There is also a mopoke who lives somewhere nearby which you might be lucky enough to hear at night.

One Green Sheep offers a serene escape from city life, with many campers highlighting its peaceful and secluded atmosphere. Guests appreciate the beautiful natural surroundings, including scenic views, bushwalks, and the opportunity to enjoy campfires under the stars. Derrin, the host, is often praised for being welcoming and informative, making sure visitors feel at home. Though mostly positive, some found the additional person fee high and noted issues with firewood supply, but these didn't overshadow the overall enjoyment of their stay.
I absolutely loved my stay here. Derrin was very informative and helpful. The pitch was very private and peaceful. Exactly what I needed. I will definitely be coming back again
Beautiful campsite. Only about 1hr away from Perth, but it feels like you're far far from the city. Each campsite is nicely secluded, so you won't hear or see anything but nature.
Bushwalk around the site was fantastic too! It was really untouched and well preserved by hosts, so it was great to explore and observe the nature. Once you walk out through the bush, you'll see wide open field, and we could see some canola fields(Early September) in the distance which was beautiful too.
Perfect spot for a quick getaway from Perth. Thanks again for having us, we'll definitely come back. :)
We stayed at echidna, very private site and a lovely location in a tree grove.
You are atop the hill, there are glimpses of a view across the valley , but it is largely obstructed by the tree line
Additional person fee is excessive, $30/night for our 11 year old son , we've paid $3/night at comparable sites
Supplied firewood was inadequate and caught us out
There is a awesome little dam and creek that is about 20minute walk from camp through some solid terrain
The host is lovely and well organized
We had a fantastic weekend at Treetops View at One Green Sheep. The views were stunning and spending the evenings by the fire made for a truly relaxing getaway.
Derrin was friendly, welcoming and communicated clearly from the start, meeting us at the gate and showing us to our site.
A beautiful place to unwind and enjoy nature. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others.
Treetops is the perfect pocket on a gorgeous bit of land. We have a reactive pup so having our own private space for camping was fantastic! Derrin is a great host with quick, clear communication. We will be back!
Great peaceful spot with amazing views and walking. Beautiful forest and paddocks. Derrin was a great host and we can see she is really passionate about the protection of the forest and wildlife
Had a really great stay at Treetops View. The site was spacious with a great view, and our dogs loved having the freedom to roam around. Derrin was a great host too, easy to deal with and happy to help if needed.
Would definitely stay again.
I’ve just had a wonderful overnight stay at Echidna Hideout, One Green Sheep. Derrin was a friendly host and all directions were clear and prompt. The camp spot was pristine and very private. Organising firewood at the time as booking was a bonus. I hope to return very soon!
Stunning spot to stay for a couple of nights. Derrin was fantastic, friendly and full of local info. Property was beautiful, lovely long hill walks if you fancy it. Great fire pits available to keep warm at night and a ot of privacy from other campers. Could have been anywhere in the bush, but only 15mins from Bindoon, which has everything you may need (including a toilet drop point). Will definetly be back, thanks Derrin x
What a wonderful secluded spot, we will surely make a return.
Derrin made us truly welcome , greeted us and took us to a beautiful camp-site on the edge of a mesmerising nature reserve, that we had to ourselves.
A must visit place and the treasure hunt was a very pleasant surprise.
Love heading out to One Green Sheep for a camp. Have taken my toddler a few times now, friends, other family, etc. Always brilliant and quiet and beautiful. One of the best hipcamps in WA.
Camping at one green sheep was absolute paradise. Derrin supplied us with wood to last the whole night. The site was moderately flat so no issues with RTT or tent set up. Soft ground for pegs. Serene spot to relax with good company. We will definitely be back
Such a lovely safe and quiet spot. Beautiful walks through the trees and down the valley. Derrin is a friendly and helpful host. I will be definitely be back.
The campsite was beautiful and perfectly set up. Derrin is a wonderful host who goes out of their way to ensure guests have a great experience. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a stress-free and enjoyable camping trip.
Derrin went out of her way to help me out this weekend!
Highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away and not be too far from Perth.
I took a 13ft hybrid to the echinda camp site and getting out was a bit tight (decent thickness short branch from a tree) and a full size van would have made it past it. However you can camp in the opening at the same site (huge open space) but just check the entry in and out before you drive in 😉
Great location and private campsites. Late August is the best time if you are lucky with weather. Everything is green, no flies and big bonfires. A wonderful location. We had the best time. Thanks for sharing your property, Derrin.
We love camping here! Sites are well spread out and spacious. Camp fire pits and plenty of room to roam. Derrin is a pleasure to deal with - friendly, welcoming and informative. Would really like this one to stay a secret haha
