🔥 campfires as per shire rules are allowed between April 30th and October 1st 🔥 Thanks all Our family moved to Toodyay 7 years ago after spending 8 years in Kalgoorlie, we dreamt of space to keep animals and raise our children. Avonbrook is ideal with its yearlong Creek and rocky outcrops for our Dexter cattle and Nigerian Dwarf x goats. We hope to enjoy for many years to come. It is recommended that only 4 Wheel drives for access and a high clearance caravan/trailer. We have 5 campsites at the moment, site A is the smaller of them, on the left beside the creek, and Site 1 next then site 2, sites 3 and 4 are paddock side on the right. There are unfortunately a few ants nests around so please be aware and pitch up anywhere around the site thats best, even on the paddock side if suits... thanks, Sarah PS the cows can be naughty and like to chew cords so keep the gate shut to resist temptation! Hope you enjoy your stay on our land. Proceeds go back into feeding livestock and the maintenance of our farm. We appreciate it so much as an exchange of services and an amazing contribution towards raising our family thankyou Please no camp-fires during shire restricted periods of 1st Oct till 30 Apr thanks

5 beautiful acres in the Swan Valley with horses, we run a horse rehoming charity from here where all proceeds from hipcamp go to support our facility. Along with plenty of horses, you'll also see kangaroos at certain times and our pet sheep Jamima who thinks she's a horse! A superb property with a winter creek and an open paddock where the horses live. It's very peaceful. There are only two camping sites available on this wonderful property at any time so privacy is assured. There is also a dam on the property so please mind any children with absent swimming abilities. Campfires are allowed during the season, and there is a toilet and shower available in the shed 100 meters from the camping area. Smaller groups booking the campsites will have full access to the toilet and shower. Please note, however, we offer a group camping option for larger groups but those booking this option must be fully self-contained as our facilities are not enough to support a large group. We have a strict Leave No Trace policy here, we kindly ask that you take all rubbish with you when you leave. We also ask that you please do not feed the horses. The property is well located to access many great wineries and cafes in the famous Swan Valley area, some within walking distance. Security here is taken care of by Mr security guard "aka" Smoky our pet dog. He's very safe and timid. If you get a pat from this boy I know you're good, so beware! We are dog friendly here, so you're welcome to bring mans best friend and we also have a secure yard to house any pets if you need a break, so long as they don't hassle the horses. We may also be able to accommodate your horse - please discuss this with us prior to booking. We look forward to welcoming you to Everything Horses ltd where you can enjoy one of the last pockets of peace left in the Swan Valley area. We are everythinghorsesltd on Facebook with current uploads to see more of the property and animals here. We are small farmers, with 120 acres. We grow wheat and oats, have some sheep and cows. The cows are very friendly and love to come and see what you are doing. There is a small creek running threw the middle of our property and 2 farm dams. Drummonds nature reserve is not far away and has 2 clay pan wetlands and some unusual native flowers. Our camp site is nestled amongst the wandoo and York gum trees near a small winter creek. There is classic wheatbelt cropping happening in the surrounding paddocks. There is a large flat area to pitch your tent or park your van. In winter there is green grass and as the seasons change so do the colours of the landscape.

One Green Sheep is a 500 acre working farm north of Bindoon, Western Australia, with beautiful breakaways and valleys, patches of natural vegetation and old stand trees in amongst pockets of cropped land. We are just over an hour from Perth at the very north end of the Darling Range with enormous starry night skies. My husband Kim and I have a strong focus on the environment and sustainability in our every day lifestyle and care for the land. Over the last 12 years or so we have planted almost 79,000 trees and shrubs successfully establishing wildlife corridors right across the property. We now also have 20 artificial nest tubes to support the Carnabys black cockatoos who return each August to breed. Our intention is to leave the land in a better state than when we first came here and we now want to share the wonderful environment with others, providing a place to get away and recharge as well as get excited about nature and all its wonders. In line with our environmental focus, we ask campers to Leave No Trace. This means you will need to have your own toilet facilities with you, you will need to take all your rubbish away with you and leave your car parked for the duration of your stay. As fallen timber is precious habit for small creatures (it’s not firewood!) you will need to purchase firewood from us for your stay. Please note that due to the Perth area now being in the Polyphagus Shothole Borer quarantine area you are no longer be able to bring firewood with you from the city. This is to safeguard our precious site and the surrounding bush. (Please get in touch with us if you aren't coming from Perth). Dogs are welcome but please keep them with you and don’t let them chase stock or wildlife. You are welcome to bring push bikes (or ebikes), or to explore on foot, but motorbikes are not permitted. We’d love to welcome you to this wonderful ecosystem. You will be camping in an area natural bush that feels a million miles from the city. We are open from 1 June to 30 September each year, the months when campfires are permitted. Please be sure to read the 'Rules' prior to booking for the finer details about what you need to know.

Avon Valley National Park camping guide

Overview

About

Whether you’re scrambling up to granite outcrops to gaze out over the Avon Valley, hiking along native forest trails, or canoeing along the Avon River—the Avon Valley National Park is all about getting back to nature. Try your hand at white-water rafting, go hot-air ballooning over the Avon Valley, and look out for kangaroos, echidnas, and more than 90 species of bird along the way. Little over an hour’s drive from Perth, the park is a popular spot for a weekend getaway, with plenty of scenic picnic spots and four campgrounds to choose from.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for tent campers: Drummonds Campground has shaded tent sites with picnic tables, fire rings, toilets, and untreated water supplies.
  • Best for valley views: Bald Hill Campground sits right by one of the park’s best viewpoints.
  • Best for caravanners: Homestead Campground has spacious flat-ground campsites suitable for caravans and camper trailers.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. All park campgrounds are non-bookable and operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Head to the self-registration station on Quarry Road to secure your campsite.
  2. Arrive early (when the park opens) to snag a spot on weekends and holidays.

When to go

Summers are scorching in Western Australia, and exploring the national park is much more enjoyable from autumn through spring. White-water rafting is only possible in winter when water levels are high, and the annual Avon Descent rafting event in August pulls in the crowds. Wildflowers, including orchids, bloom throughout the valleys in spring (Sept-Nov), and this is also the perfect time for birdwatching and camping.

Know before you go

  • Avon Valley National Park is set 65 kilometres northeast of Perth, or about a 70-minute drive away. Park roads are unsealed and not recommended for caravans, especially after wet weather.
  • There is no vehicle access to the river within the park; the closest river access is at Cobblers Pool.
  • The park charges a per-vehicle entry fee, or you can use your Western Australia Park Pass. Camping fees also apply.
  • Avon Valley facilities include drop toilets, picnic and wood barbecue areas (bring your own wood), running water, and parking. There is no power at the park, and you’ll need to bring all supplies with you.
