If you are looking for a truly unique and memorable get away with family and friends then the fabulous Sandalwood Downs in Toodyay is the place to stay. This is where you are up close and personal with the animals. Expect the very friendly Donkeys to come and sit with you at your site. The lambs will follow you. The camels will drop by for a chat. Our emus will want to play. All the animals have been hand raised from babies and are super friendly. This farm stay is one of a kind and for people to be up close and personal with our large variety of our fury and feathered family. Sandalwood Downs Farm Stay in Toodyay is now available for you to enjoy and experience as a tent camping, campervan and caravan accommodation. Sandalwood Downs Toodyay operates as a farm stay and has been in high demand for many years. After years of travelers requesting caravan and tents sites, Marc and Jane are excited to announce as of March 2024 we now offering 8 caravan/camping/tent sites. With only 8 sites spread out over 100 acres, you are guaranteed privacy for you and your family and friends. The farm features many beautiful hand raised farm animals such as, camels, cows, miniature goats, donkeys, alpacas, lambs, deer, a pig, emus, ducks, turkeys, guinea fowls, geese, rabbits. Spend some time strolling the stunning walk trails and taking in the amazing views on the property, The sunsets are vivid and beautiful. The stars shine and sparkle bright. Each site is cleared and leveled 8 site’s available 4 sites accessible by 4WD 4 sites accessible by 2WD Each site has: Chairs and tables Rubbish bin Camp fire pit ONLY TO BE USED IN WINTER MONTHS MAY-SEPYEMBER. Alternatively enjoy the communal fire pit and chat with fellow travelers. The Julimar Forest is conveniently located just 2ks away. The fabulous township of Toodyay is only 8 minutes away. Know for its: Award winning bakery 2 great pubs to eat at. Awesome big IGA. The tourist center is super helpful and friendly. The coke cola cafe is great eating and yummy milk shakes. A big new beautiful swimming pool. 2 amazingly maintained parks for kids to play at. 2 hardware stores open 7 days a week (just in caser you forgot something). The very famous beautiful Christmas shop. 4 clothing and gift shops. A great lolly shop. 4 cafes all serving great food and lovely service. 2 hair dressers. Sandalwood Downs Farm The property is 100 acres of beautiful tranquility. Perfect for a family getaway or a romantic couple experience. Not suitable for for large noisy party groups. The property is only 45 minutes from Midland and 7 minutes from the wonderful town of Toodyay. RULES AND GUILDLINES While staying at Sandalwood Downs we would like all visitors to understand and accept the guidelines and rules, which are in place for everybody’s comfort and safety. - No lighting of campfires out of fire season. Local Shire and DEFES have very strong rules regarding this, and if lighting of a fire occurs people will be prosecuted by DEFES and the local Shire up to $36000.00 or 3 years imprisonment, -LIGHTING OF SMALL CAMP FIRES IS ONLY PERMITTED DURING OPEN FIRE SEASON MAY TO SEPTEMBER. -No trees are to be cut down if logs and sticks are on the ground these can be used. -If you smoke please place your butts in a sealed fire proof container. Please do not leave them on the ground as it is a fire risk and our animals may eat them causing health issues. -No dogs permitted on the property due to our animal roaming free. -You must be totally self contained, own water, showering and toilets. (We do have emergency's toilet and shower facilities just incase something unforeseen happens with guests set up) -Please take away all rubbish. Bins have been provided with garbage bags inside. -No big party groups. -Quiet time from 9pm please. Please consider other guest and our neighbours. -Check out of campsite by 11 am. -If a gate is closed, please close it behind you as will find it very hard to catch a animal that has escaped. -Don’t go into animal enclosures without permission from Jane or Marc. -We do an animal handling and feeding experience every morning at 8:30 am, which all guests are welcome to come and feed, sit and interact with the farm animals . -As we are a farm and you will be in our farm animals home, you will have some of our very friendly farm animals come and interact with you during your stay, we ask you to please be kind and friendly towards all of our animals. -You approach all animals at your own risk Please do not feed the animals any food that has not been given to you by Jane and Marc. -Please drive very slowly through paddocks as animals roam freely. -You will be handed a rules and guidelines policy when you arrive which includes an emergency and evaluation plan. Make read and make yourself very aware of the guidelines, as your safety is very important to us. -Arrival during day light hours is a must please for your and our animals safety. The Plantation west (site3)
We had a great time camping a night at Sandalwood Downs with another dad and his daughter. From feeding the many different animals to hiking up the hills. The owners Mark and Jane are more than welcoming and have made this their passion they enjoy sharing with fellow campers. Country life is rejuvenating. Looking forward to our next trip!

Best hipcamp so far.
We absolutely loved our stay here. The owners have provided space for campers and not crammed sites in on top of eachother, which we love! The views are spectacular and the animals are so loved and well cared for! The hosts are lovely. Perfect place to get away and relax, with something for everyone....especially the animal lovers.

Amazing stay ! Jane and Mark are wonderful host and what a treat it is to stay at their beautiful property with the animals 🐪🫏 The site it self is well positioned for an amazing view and very private. Just perfect!!

Goat mountain (site 5)
Hilltop camp
Lovely site overlooking the farm and surrounding countryside. You can watch the camels and donkeys eating the straw pile. You will be visited by the friendly emu and donkey families. A lovely touch is the food given by your hosts for the visiting animals. We will definitely be back!

Double tree hill top (site 8) views
Camping in the clouds
Was lucky enough to camp on the Double Tree Hill top site. What an epic location to camp at. The view is second to none, even the animals come up to enjoy it. Got to help out with the feeding of the animals and enjoy the walking tracks around the property. The vantage point you have for both sunrise and sunset is stunning. Can’t wait for winter to enjoy it all with a fire👌🏾👌🏾
