Nice secluded farm but I should have chosen a farm with only 1 site so my dog could run around. People walking near kept startling the dog. Hard to find the place at the start, too many campers for them to find and bring to the farm. But very nice all and all to be away from the city.

The hosts were very kind and attentive, the communication was the best we have had! A low point for us is we felt crowded, campsites are dotted along a pretty creek, however we were within close proximity to other campers with dogs. The hosts did offer to move us but we were already set up. For those looking for a quick trip from Perth in the country and more space than a caravan park this is ideal. For us who do like to be away from anyone we will seek alternative locations.

Fantastic stay at Trapwell farm. Cathie & Joe are great hosts & put so much effort into ensuring everyone has a great stay.
After a walk around, we realised that there were quite a few other campers there for the weekend. If we hadn't of seen them, we would not of known they were there.
We will definitely be going back.
Thanks Cathie & Joe, look forward to seeing you again

Better than we were looking for

Right from the 1st communication, we knew that we had chosen a nice place to stay for a few days.
Ongoing and very informative comms were provided right up to the day of departure and it was reassuring, particularly when travelling far from home and in the middle of nowhere.
The site we received was just perfect for our off grid set-up. Mix of privacy, scenic outlook, level site, and small creeks adjacent to our site.
Campfires were a bonus, and whilst this farm caters very well for groups of campers and vans, there are many places available to hide away on your own if that's your thing.
25 minutes from from Toodyay or Northam, if you really need to travel, otherwise, enjoy the vast open spaces, the occasional goods train in the distance and wandering sheep.

What a great place to spend a weekend.
Cathie and Joe were exceptionally good hosts and made us, our grandchildren and our dogs feel very welcome.
Lots of space for large and small groups all with privacy if needed.

It was a great location for a weekend getaway. Got to roam the paddocks and watch the sheep. There was also a train line at the back of the paddock we got to watch the trains and hear them roam pass during the night.
There is 1 toilet in an out house. It does so the job but would recommend bringing your own. Was lots of flies but they did disappear at night.

A great little getaway only an hour and a half out of Perth. Went with a group of friends and had an area that allowed all 6 campsites to be together but not on top of each other. The fact that you can have a roaring open fire whilst you sit back and look at the stars is fantastic. Joe & Cathie were wonderful hosts.

Cathy and Joe were wonderful hosts. The campsite was perfect for our group, peaceful and we had it all to ourselves. The walk along on track to the local pub was the icing on the cake.

Fantastic spot, plenty of room for the dogs to run free and other campers spaced far enough away to not see anyone. Owners were responsive on the app and very helpful.

Great quiet spot with small flowing creek for the kids to play in, dog could roam freely or just chill by the fire. (Good advice from Cathie about the mozzies).

Our site was too small for our group.
The host kept referring to our group as 5 set ups but there were 9 setups. They received emails from all of the group.
They said it was cheaper paying cash but it's actually more expensive as they charged $10 per child 2-10yrs per night. It says on hip camp children 5yrs and under are free. So all our group were worse off as they had children between 2-5yrs
The site was nice and the views were lovely, but the lack of space between our group and other campers around us spoilt our weekend.
This just seems like another hipcamp that crams in as many people as possible.

Both Joe and Cathie were such wonderful host. It was a busy holiday weekend, but they managed the influx of people really well. The spot they gave us was just perfect for our medium size tent. Thank you for sharing your beautiful farm to the public. We will definitely return and spend a few more nights.

Visited yesterday i.e, 26th of September and we getting to that time of the where Sandflies and Mosquitoes will give you hard time (not even kidding) carry bug spray and what not. The hosts are really kind hearted people

Directions and communication from Cathie were perfect and made it easy to find.
It was a long weekend and start of school holidays so by Saturday afternoon it was quite busy. We had a good space between campsites though and couldn't really hear the neighbours, but quite a bit of traffic past our site.

Perfect place for a little camp away. Not too far from Perth, ability to have a fire, swim in the river and even have proximity to a portaloo! It was a great little getaway.

We arrived to be told that someone had moved to the site we had booked; instead of telling that person they couldn’t move, the owner changed our location …to a dried out marshland which was fly-ridden, surrounded by tall trees (limited view) and tall sharp, uncut grasses, so nowhere for dogs to lie down. The site was unkept and tight. The owner tried to tell us the spot “was one of the most popular sites”. Poor experience….so we headed home with the weekend ruined because of the actions of one person.

Wonderful Hosts and Perfect Getaway

Joe and Cathie are such wonderful hosts! Although it was a busy weekend and we anticipated a few challenges, once we settled into our campsite, we were able to truly relax. The site was peaceful, spacious, and perfect for the kids to run around, with the river just a 5-10 minute walk away.
We did encounter an issue with one of our car batteries, but Joe went out of his way to help us, even arranging for another car to jump-start ours. The kids also had a fantastic time riding the quad with Cathie.
We highly recommend this place! It’s close enough to Perth, with beautiful landscapes and the warmest, most accommodating owners.

Great weekend. Amenities were excellent. Even on a long weekend we felt secluded and enjoyed our own area without interruption. Ran out of firewood but the host provided a top up to get us through the weekend. We will be back.
