Nomadic camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
Tucked away on a quiet bush block just 15 minutes from the historic town of Toodyay, Julimar Forest Camp offers a single, private wild-camping site surrounded by native jarrah, marri, and wandoo forest. Here, you’ll share the land only with kangaroos grazing at dawn, black- and red-tailed cockatoos calling overhead, and a chorus of native birds through the day. This is true bush camping — peaceful, secluded, and simple. Guests bring their own water, cooking setup, and waste systems (bins provided for rubbish). There’s no power or amenities, just the sounds of the bush and endless starry skies. It’s ideal for self-sufficient campers seeking stillness, privacy, and a genuine connection with nature. Why guests love it: - One private site — no other campers nearby. - Native wildlife and birdlife all around. - Seasonal wildflowers in a stunning bush setting. - Star-filled skies and total quiet. - Close to Toodyay for supplies and day trips. Good to know: - Bring all your own water, cooking gear, and waste systems. - Rubbish bins provided; all other waste to be taken out. - Unpowered site — no amenities or lighting. - Fires permitted only outside the local prohibited burning period. - Vehicle accessible (2WD in dry weather). - Respect the wildlife and quiet of the bush — it’s what makes this place special.Set in a peaceful clearing surrounded by tall gum and jarrah trees, Julimar Forrest Campsite offers a quiet bush escape just 15 minutes from Toodyay. The open site is easy to access via a short dirt driveway and suits tents, camper trailers, or small vans. Wake to native birdsong and watch kangaroos pass through at dawn. In spring, the forest floor comes alive with colourful wildflowers, while clear nights invite unforgettable stargazing by the campfire (when permitted). A short stroll or quick drive takes you to Dawn Atwell Nature Reserve, where walking trails wind through more native bushland. Whether you’re seeking calm solitude or a simple night under the stars, Julimar Forrest Campsite is a place to slow down, breathe deeply, and connect with nature’s rhythm.
