Barney View Bush Camping, nestled in the heart of nature, is situated on the Logan River and surrounded by the foothills of Mt Maroon in the Scenic Rim. Located approximately 12 km from Rathdowney and one and a half hours from Brisbane and the Gold Coast it provides the perfect bush camping getaway experience. With five spacious, flat, grassy campsites and river access, guests can enjoy a refreshing swim, kayaking, and fishing (catch and release) or simply relax on the riverbank and at night enjoy a campfire under the vast night sky. The campground is accessible by 4WD or semi-off-road vehicles only. It is not suitable for low-clearance vehicles or standard vans; if you are unsure of your setup's accessibility, please contact your host. There are no facilities, all campers are required to be fully self-sufficient and self-contained with their own toilet and shower. All waste and rubbish must be taken with you on departure. As we are a working property, please be aware of roaming cattle. Each site has its own fire drum, and firewood is available for purchase at the front gate. Dogs are welcome under adult supervision. They can be off-leash at your camp during the day, but must be leashed at your camp at night and whenever they are not in the immediate vicinity of your campsite. We loved our stay at Barney View. Janelle was a great host. The camp sites are large and well spaced out. Nice views, plenty of different spots to go kayaking, swimming and go for a hike. Will definitely like to revisit

What an awesome spot to camp. Janelle was super friendly very welcoming host. It’s a small walk to all the water holes where you can Kayak or fish. Plenty of room not camping on top of each other.

Absolutely loved camping here. Bring a paddle board/kayak to go up and down the Logan river. Easy 4wd track to access some areas of the river, or you can walk there. Wide open camp sites, camp site 5 doesn't have shade but the rest of the sites do. All camp sites are quite far apart as well. Mount Barney and Mount maroon are quite close to go for a day hike as well. Only 10-15 minutes outside of rathdowney, if you forget any small things there is a small shop nearby. Camp site 5 is the best to see the stars during the night time in my opinion. 10/10 would come here again!

We had a fantastic stay at Barney View and would happily return. The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and a pleasure to deal with throughout. Sites 1–5 are generous in size and thoughtfully spaced, giving a real sense of openness while still offering privacy—something we really appreciated. The swimming holes were a highlight: clean, flowing water with easy sandy access, making them perfect for all ages. The views across the property are beautiful, and everything was clean, well maintained, and clearly cared for. A great spot to relax and
