We welcome everyone who would like to relax whilst respecting the environment and all fellow hipcampers. We are family and dog friendly, with the space for multiple families to camp together on our spacious sites. THIS PROPERTY IS NOT SUITABLE FOR DRUNKEN AND/OR NOISY PARTYING!!! Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes. Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

Choose from 3 carefully selected camp sites and set up base camp to enjoy day trips exploring the local wineries, such as del Rios, walking and cycling trails of the You Yangs State Park, and Serendip Wildlife Sanctuary, or as a convenient overnight stop on your way to explore the Great Ocean Road The camping area is easily accessed from maintained roads, where guests can drive in and park on the spacious lower paddock (no reversing or 3-point-turns necessary). As this beautiful, secluded location is off-grid, guests will need to be Self Contained (BYO toilet/shower) and Leave No Trace. The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Enjoy all the area has to offer, and come back to your own paradise in the bush. Wake up to roos on the oval and enjoy a barbie with your group. Please read all the info before you book... This is an ideal spot for a quiet getaway or as a home base if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Dunolly or Dunolly itself. Early mornings and late evenings you may be lucky to receive visits from Kangaroos. Camp freely around the designated campfire and enjoy an amazing star-gazing experience (on clear nights). The water hole is good for yabbies and great for skipping stones. We swim in it occasionally but prefer to go to the lake. We cannot endorse any swimming or entering the water hole as it is a liability issue and we cannot be responsible for anyone who chooses to swim or enter the area of the waterhole. Dunolly town has a great bakery, a pub, and a supermarket. Lake Laanacoorie 15 mins drive. Great for fishing, boats, and swimming. ***Pit-toilet (portable) available: - There is a pit toilet available for camper use but it's recommended to have a portaloo and use the onsite dunny as an emergency only. ***Keep Clean. -We ask that you take any rubbish with you when you leave. We would appreciate it if you could leave the property as you found it on arrival. ***Warning. -Regular pest control in the area might be a threat to your pet so please ensure that your pet does not stray too far off the property without your supervision. Pest control is usually concentrated in the state forest behind the property. ***Fire Wood: - You can BYO firewood or collect from the roadside. The state forest at the rear may be helpful but please don't cut down any trees. There is often a fallen tree that you can chop up if you have a chainsaw but it'll be easier to find on the roadside or BYO. If I'm able to provide firewood it'll be stacked but this is not something to depend on as it just depends on availability and time that I may not have. ***More info. -The campsite is close to the water hole which means it's also at the front of the property and approx 120m from the main road. You will see a vehicle passing by maybe once per hour in the daytime.

Gooseberry Hill is a flat safe paddock area that was once home to dozens of gold miners in canvas tents seeking their luck. It is ideal for campervans and caravans. Situated just on the outskirts of Dunolly, it is very close to town amenities. There is tap water on the site near the 150 year old apple tree near the main road. You are able to camp privately well back from the road. The site once had brick buildings of shopkeepers and even a hospital - all now long gone. The double story hotel built in 1862 as a Cobb & Co coach hotel for the Gooseberry Hill gold miners, is the only building still standing. The land had a vineyard at one time, and still has a small olive grove and quince trees. It was used in the 1870's as a sporting ground with events such as brass bands, Lantern Parades and even a formal Ball in the adjoining Cobb & Co Hotel. It was a wild and rough time in the gold mining days with a double murder at the butchers shop on the site. There was also a Chinese Camp nearby, as well as gambling dens. All the trees were removed in the 1860's for mining, but now vegetation is being restored. At the rear of the property is the quarry and old diggings. it is an interesting walk but beware of old mining shafts and deep diggings. In summer time watch out for snakes. Kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas are all around the property.

Pitch your completely self-sufficient sleeping quarters on our peaceful, flat, 7 acre property which backs onto the Bald Hill Nature Reserve and is less than five minutes drive from Kyneton’s historic Piper Street which is full of delightful restaurants and cafes. Take under an hour to drive up and explore beautiful Bendigo, experience delightful Daylesford nearby and meander around the wonderful wineries of the Macedon Ranges. Campfires are allowed subject to local fire restrictions and must be fully extinguished before you turn in for the night. Please search for the CFA website 'Fire Danger Period: Can I or Can't I?' which has all of the appropriate information. Each site has a fire pit which you can use providing it is not a total fire ban. Firewood is available at a cost to you of $50 per wheelbarrow load which will easily cover two nights. We have four separate camping locations on the property; you can easily have up to four RVs on sites 1, 2 and 4 and two on site 3. We have tried to ensure privacy for each location but you may be able to see other guests and/or the house through the many trees. Please be aware that there are two dams on the property so children should supervised at all times. My own children swim in the dam and there is a kayak available but lifejackets must be worn by children in, around and on the water to minimise risk. Pets are welcome. The kangaroos may prove quite enticing for some pets and as such we recommend dogs be kept on their leash. Site 4 has ringlock fencing and farm gates which can be helpful to contain your pets. Please be aware that the Kyneton Gun Club has their monthly clay target shoot on the 3rd Sunday of each month (2nd Sunday in December) from 11am until 5pm during which time you will hear them clay pigeon shooting. We are NOT a commercial campsite and, as such, you must be fully self-contained for power, water, showers, sewage, refuse disposal, etc. Guests under the age of 25 must be accompanied by their parents.

Gooseberry Hill is a flat safe paddock area that was once home to dozens of gold miners in canvas tents seeking their luck. It is ideal for campervans and caravans. Situated just on the outskirts of Dunolly, it is very close to town amenities. There is tap water on the site near the 150 year old apple tree near the main road. You are able to camp privately well back from the road. The site once had brick buildings of shopkeepers and even a hospital - all now long gone. The double story hotel built in 1862 as a Cobb & Co coach hotel for the Gooseberry Hill gold miners, is the only building still standing. The land had a vineyard at one time, and still has a small olive grove and quince trees. It was used in the 1870's as a sporting ground with events such as brass bands, Lantern Parades and even a formal Ball in the adjoining Cobb & Co Hotel. It was a wild and rough time in the gold mining days with a double murder at the butchers shop on the site. There was also a Chinese Camp nearby, as well as gambling dens. All the trees were removed in the 1860's for mining, but now vegetation is being restored. At the rear of the property is the quarry and old diggings. it is an interesting walk but beware of old mining shafts and deep diggings. In summer time watch out for snakes. Kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas are all around the property.

The site can accommodate up to 30 campers, and you'll have full use of the hall and all facilities. An amazing place for large groups to hold events, and gatherings and only an hour from Melbourne. Please read all the info before you book... This is an ideal spot for a quiet getaway or as a home base if you want to explore the surrounding areas of Dunolly or Dunolly itself. Early mornings and late evenings you may be lucky to receive visits from Kangaroos. Camp freely around the designated campfire and enjoy an amazing star-gazing experience (on clear nights). The water hole is good for yabbies and great for skipping stones. We swim in it occasionally but prefer to go to the lake. We cannot endorse any swimming or entering the water hole as it is a liability issue and we cannot be responsible for anyone who chooses to swim or enter the area of the waterhole. Dunolly town has a great bakery, a pub, and a supermarket. Lake Laanacoorie 15 mins drive. Great for fishing, boats, and swimming. ***Pit-toilet (portable) available: - There is a pit toilet available for camper use but it's recommended to have a portaloo and use the onsite dunny as an emergency only. ***Keep Clean. -We ask that you take any rubbish with you when you leave. We would appreciate it if you could leave the property as you found it on arrival. ***Warning. -Regular pest control in the area might be a threat to your pet so please ensure that your pet does not stray too far off the property without your supervision. Pest control is usually concentrated in the state forest behind the property. ***Fire Wood: - You can BYO firewood or collect from the roadside. The state forest at the rear may be helpful but please don't cut down any trees. There is often a fallen tree that you can chop up if you have a chainsaw but it'll be easier to find on the roadside or BYO. Gooseberry Hill is a flat safe paddock area that was once home to dozens of gold miners in canvas tents seeking their luck. It is ideal for campervans and caravans. Situated just on the outskirts of Dunolly, it is very close to town amenities. There is tap water on the site near the 150 year old apple tree near the main road. You are able to camp privately well back from the road. The site once had brick buildings of shopkeepers and even a hospital - all now long gone. The double story hotel built in 1862 as a Cobb & Co coach hotel for the Gooseberry Hill gold miners, is the only building still standing. The land had a vineyard at one time, and still has a small olive grove and quince trees. It was used in the 1870's as a sporting ground with events such as brass bands, Lantern Parades and even a formal Ball in the adjoining Cobb & Co Hotel. It was a wild and rough time in the gold mining days with a double murder at the butchers shop on the site. There was also a Chinese Camp nearby, as well as gambling dens. All the trees were removed in the 1860's for mining, but now vegetation is being restored. At the rear of the property is the quarry and old diggings. it is an interesting walk but beware of old mining shafts and deep diggings. In summer time watch out for snakes. Kangaroos, wallabies and echidnas are all around the property.

A spectacular place to stay. From lying in bed in the large tent watching the sheep and birds, cooking over the open fire, and enjoying the breeze while in the outdoor bath, we enjoyed every moment of it. Greeted warmly by the host on arrival. Adequate amenities provided for cooking and cleaning, and plenty of blankets to stay warm. Easy to buy firewood from the hosts - we let them know beforehand, and the firewood already at our campsite ready to use. We also really enjoyed the short hike up the hills to be greeted with amazing views. Would highly recommend, and hope we can come here again soon.

Cosy nook with amenities aplenty! Every time we wanted for kitchenware, a side table, or bug spray it was already there. Blair gave clear and easy instructions for the hot water, gas and power. We had a beautiful weekend on this lil corner of bushland. The trees are full of inquisitive birds. A quick hot shower at the end of the day was such a treat while camping. You'll still be able to hear the occasional car on the nearby road, some distant music from neighbors, but the block is large enough to feel secluded and peaceful. Wonderful spot of nature.

It's a great location, 1hour from the zoo. Yes it's on the road but it is very quiet. Multiple camps to drive in but some is overgrown with branches and long grass. The toilet hadn't been cleaned and we had to fill up the portaloo water ourselves too. One of the neighbours were playing doof doof music all night which definitely ruined alot of it for us. Would still recommend though as a camp before heading into town or the zoo etc.

Wow! What a great little camp. We booked here to be close to Sovereign Hill for the kids. It was a lovely little camp for our group of two families. The grass was green, the sun was shining, there was plenty of shade and great facilities around the camp fire, like tables. We loved the rusty relics but a true highlight was the Powder Room.
