Glenmaye Farm

18 sites · RVs, Tents700 acres · Balmattum, VIC
Discover the inviting charm of Glenmaye Farm—a family-run haven nestled in the foothills of the Strathbogie Ranges. Set alongside the headwaters of Faithfulls Creek, the property features picturesque rocky outcrops, steep gullies, and stunning waterfalls cascading over ancient rock formations, promising a unique and serene escape. Experience the untamed beauty of the landscape where every corner and rise unveils a new wonder. Enjoy breathtaking panoramic views from the summits and unwind at serene creekside spots, perfect for a leisurely afternoon under the sun. Encounter an abundance of native wildlife—from majestic eagles to charming echidnas—that will captivate your senses. For those seeking a truly immersive nature experience, Glenmaye Farm offers an escape like no other. Here, you can discover stunning scenery and enjoy the solitude of a place that feels entirely your own—far removed from the ordinary caravan park atmosphere. Conveniently located just 15 km off the Hume Freeway near Euroa and only two hours north of Melbourne, our farm provides an easily accessible retreat where nature takes center stage. When we acquired Glenmaye Farm in the early 2000s, it mirrored many properties in the region—overused, overtaken by weeds, and managed with conventional practices that overlooked the delicate balance of this unique landscape. Determined to restore its natural beauty, we transitioned from sheep to cattle farming and embraced regenerative agriculture techniques. While our efforts are still evolving, native trees and grasses are steadily making a comeback, and even the persistent weeds are now contributing to soil health, creating a more resilient ecosystem. We offer a variety of camping options, with plans to expand our facilities in the future. Although our current amenities are modest and may not be ideal for young children, improvements are on the horizon. In addition, firewood is available for purchase, and we often have a surplus of fresh produce to share—just ask. We look forward to welcoming you to our little slice of paradise and sharing the beauty of Glenmaye Farm with you soon.

Tooranie Stay Echuca Moama

8 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents300 acres · Moama, NSW
Our 300-acre off-grid property backs onto the Barmah National Park. This forest, together with the adjoining Millewa forest, forms the largest River Red Gum forest in the world - it's majestic to explore. Our property is just 500 meters from the Murray River. From your camp, roughly a 1 kilometre walk through the forest. On our boundary is Backwater Creek, which fills with water when the Murray River is up. NOTE: Creek is often dry. It has water in it after environmental flows of the Murray. This can happen several times a year and the water lasts a few months. If you have any questions about water levels please ask before booking as it might be dry when you're here. We're located just 5kms northeast of Moama, where you can hop aboard a paddle-steamer, visit waterside wineries and soak up rich riverboat heritage. We offer a few large, beautiful, basic bush camping sites (the best kind!) in amongst 50 acres of bushland, with 100's of meters and trees between you and other potential campers. The rest of our property is used for cropping and sheep. Campers must take out what you bring in. Big Bama and No 3 - you'll need to be fully self contained. There is a dump point in Moama. Toilets can be hired from Central Hire in Echuca. They can deliver it for you. Mobile and internet is usually reliable, though with long weekends and summer school holidays the service seems to disappear! *Please feel free to book anyone in your possie that is under 18 as a child.

Camping near Shepparton guide

Overview

Surrounded by a verdant patchwork of fruit orchards, farmlands, and dairy farms, it’s no surprise that Shepparton is hailed as the “food bowl” of Victoria. Just over two hours from Melbourne and an hour from the NSW border, this agricultural town sits firmly in Australia’s rural heartland. Once you’ve admired the town’s vibrant street art, head into the Goulburn Valley for a food or wine-tasting tour or go boating and kayaking along the Goulburn River and Victoria Park Lake. For campers, Shepparton makes a strategic stopover along the Midland Highway, with plenty of options. Caravan parks, holiday parks, and Hipcamps dot the Greater Shepparton area, many of which have ‌powered sites, dump spots, and amenities such as a camp kitchen and BBQ areas. Alternatively, the camping areas in Lower Goulburn National Park and Lake Eildon National Park have tent and camper trailer sites, or there’s free camping for self-contained motorhomes around Greens Lake.
