This place was perfect for me, I small swag, gazebo and my ute. Looks like there is HEAPS of space for other setups. Great shower/bathroom facilities. Very quiet at night. I’d be interested in staying in one of the train carriage accomodations one day. I’ll be back for sure.

Loved our stay at this hip camp site - the Platypus site was small and private with the best views of the water and the jetty. Jana was a great host, checked in on us to make sure we're settled in and if we needed anything. We felt very welcome. We didn't brave the kayaks as the weather is a bit cold, but looked like a lovely option for warmer weather. Campsite is a bit slopy but we found good options to pitch our 4 person tent. We loved our stay, we hope to be back in the summer to make full use of the lovely creek and the kayaks.

It was great! We had such a great time camping at Shiprock. The facilities make the stay so easy. The shower felt like luxury! And the kitchen and undercover area made it much more enjoyable as it rained for a couple of hours on one of the nights we were there. We’ll be back!

The Fern Glade

Nestled right beside the Murrundini River, all 3 campsites are beside the river, and well spaced apart for privacy and peace. Campsite 2 (site two) is shady, surrounded by tall swamp gums, black wood wattles and tree ferns. This spot is at its best from late spring through to autumn . Site One is a large flat area beside the river that is good all year round. It has fencing and gates, perfect to let dogs run free without going too far. Site 3 (Craig's flat), is a large open campsite, able to take more camper-vans/ tents with plenty of space. All sites have fire places and gas BBQ's (byo gas bottle) And there are plenty of fish for those that want to try their luck. The original home stead (built in 1876) burnt down in the 2009 black Saturday fires. There still remains many 150+ year old elms and other European trees near the toilet block, which are delightful in autumn. We have some fantastic views from the hill up and down the Murundindi Valley, especially at sunset. We're located only a few short km's from Wilhelmina Falls and Murundindi Scenic Reserve, you get the best part of the river, without the crowds. We are a short drive from Melbourne, and easy access to the townships of Yea and Yarra Glen for supplies if you need them. Amazing, abundant and rare bird life to enjoy and photograph. (see guests photos). With no light pollution this is the ideal spot for star gazing.

Seven Hills Tallarook

Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. Our interest is with your safety, our neighbors and our property & family.

Welcome to Summerhill Vineyard! Pitch your tent or park your camper on a private, elevated position overlooking vineyards, farmland and surrounding mountain ranges. Enjoy plenty of space and peace and quiet. The campsite is located on the edge of our 32-acre vineyard, on a 120-acre property. Guests are welcome to take a walk amongst the vines, subject to vineyard operations during the season of course. All guests must be self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided. Fire restrictions in place during your stay must be observed. Firewood is available for purchase from a neighbour, located opposite the entrance to Summerhill Road. 4wd accessible during the wetter months and 2wd during the drier months. You are welcome to bring your dog, just please note that the area is unfenced. We have a mob of kangaroos that visit and cattle and horses reside here also. We ask that our guests display responsible pet ownership at all times. Summerhill Vineyard is located in the Upper Yarra region of the Yarra Valley. We are a 5-minute drive from Yarra Junction township, with supermarkets, butchers and a small shopping precinct. The picturesque township of Warburton is just over 7kms away. Restaurants, cafes, and wineries are all a short drive from here. Yarra Ranges National Park is also on our door step. We are a 1hr 15mins drive from Melbourne, though Summerhill Vineyard will have you feeling a world away. The Yarra Valley offers quality local food and wine, breathtaking scenery, walks, cycling tracks, and tourist destinations like Healesville Sanctuary, Lotus Water Gardens, Warburton Rail Trail and much more. Or.....you can chill out and just enjoy the serenity and views from your campsite. My family live on the property, close to 1/2km from the campsite, far enough away for your complete privacy, or close enough if you need us! Mobile network coverage at Summerhill Vineyard, in all areas, is good. Set up camp in the shade on a gently sloping 2 acre paddock all to yourself - that's right - we are offering only one site listing (for you and up to 23 guests) situated about 1 km from the main farm house and completely surrounded by forest. A genuine wilderness experience with forest (tree) bathing, spring fed creeks and total peace for you and your group very close to Melbourne. You can hopefully spot our resident platypus and kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, wombats etc. There’s also abundant bird life including lyre birds and eagles. Explore all the Yarra Ranges has to offer including a short walk to Shiprock Falls. Grab a coffee or pizza in nearby Gembrook and checkout some farm produce from your hosts before you leave. We have added a composting toilet, a drinking water tank and a bush pole shelter with cold water kitchen sink, phone charger ports, lights and hot water to a private shower and a picnic table with seats under cover. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.
