Weekend Trip to Galea Ranch

We had such a lovely weekend at Galea Ranch! Sharelle and Wayne were so welcoming and accomodating, they even got the fire going for us when we arrived the first evening. The campsite was beautiful and very spacious, and the hot outdoor (but enclosed) shower felt like an extra luxury for a camping weekend! Perhaps the happiest camper was our two year old border collie who met his first highland cows. We also loved the location - just a short drive to some great walks or food options. Thanks so much Sharelle and Wayne - can't wait to come back soon!

This spot was a fantastic retreat. Hidden away on a tranquil section of Chris’s property, it felt like my own peaceful haven. Having a tiny house next to me made it very convenient to lounge around during the time of rain. If you’re after a quiet, nature-filled escape, this place is a must-visit.

10/10 I can not thank Wayne and Sharelle enough for the experience. The property is amazing. The camp spots were great, the eggs we purchased were the best eggs ever, the firewood was nice and dry with generous amounts and much cheaper than the bags from the service station. We visited this camp with one of our NDIS participants and it was just perfect. We felt super secure on the property and Wayne and Sharelle could not have been any better hosts if they tried. We also did a guided bush walk with Sharelle, where she showed us around the local state forrest and explained everything about the wildlife. Sharelles knowledge on deer hunting was amazing and we will definitely be back to do a weekend of guided deer hunting. This property was amazing, extremely well maintained and super safe if you are camping alone. The toilets and shower were extremely clean. The animals are great to wake up to each morning. We can not recommend this place enough. It was perfect. 10/10 We will definitely be back and be recommending the camp. We can not thank Wayne and Sharelle enough for being amazing hosts Paul, Tara and Josh

Beautiful well maintained site. Very friendly and accommodating hosts. My son loved feeding the cows. Lots of activities to do in the area but we didn't get around to much because we just enjoyed hanging out at camp. The waterfalls nearby are beautiful and there are lots of hikes to choose from. My favourite part was how quiet it got at night and how starry the sky is. Pure bliss.

My partner and I had a fantastic time at bay park scouts camp! The campsite was very soft from the pine needles on the floor, and green grass. We camped in cooler weather and only had one other camper near us, which was perfect. Michelle was very helpful and generous, answering all my texts about using different facilities, and sending a map so we could do a later check in and pick which campsite we wanted between a couple options she indicated on the map. We bought the fire barrel and wood extras and this was provided by the ranger when we got there. We also asked for more wood a few days in which was supplied at no extra cost. The park has lots of activities, my partner and I did mini golf and rode on the BMX track, both of which the park supplies the equipment for you. We didn’t pay any extra to use these activities or equipment. Michelle also offered to arrange for us to do archery but we ran out of time at no fault to Michelle. The whole experience was amazing and we will definitely be back!

We loved the location of Galea ranch. It was nestled in beautiful bushland. Our kids loved feeding the animals and Wayne and Sharelle went above and beyond to make our stay perfect! Would definitely recommend and will return!!

This was one of the best stays I have had on Hipcamp. Beautiful location close to the Cathedral Mountains. I took a trip with my daughter and we really enjoyed the experience we had had. Clean and neat site with a prepared campfire and wood ready and waiting to be lit. Privacy screen, benches around the campfire, and backed on to nature made the site beautiful and serene and comfortable . The shower was beautiful and so nice after the hike. Sharelle gave us food to give to the adorable cows. I will definitely be back again. ,

What an incredible dog-friendly glamping gem! Just a short walk to the beach and winery, yet it still felt wonderfully secluded and peaceful. We loved the thoughtful touches—like the coral reef-inspired light shades and rustic timber tables. Having access to showers and toilets was a huge bonus, especially on chilly winter nights. Our pup absolutely loved it too—such a perfect swap from our usual sluggish Sundays for something special. The abundance of wildlife was a highlight; wallabies wandered nearby, unbothered, and the variety of big birds kept our dog entertained from a safe distance. The well-stocked kitchen and utensils made it super easy to enjoy a spontaneous getaway without packing the whole car. And the hot tub under the stars? Just magic. We adored this place and can’t wait to return in summer with friends, family, and all the doggos!

Day visitors are $20 per person, which incudes a donkey patting session. This property has an overall capacity to ensure that our number of visitors remain low. This not only ensures that campers recieve the space and peace they look for in a campsite like this, but also so that we can ensure the bathrooms can be kept clean and not overloaded. Our property, "Seven Hills Tallarook", sits high above Tallarook with deep valleys and high peaks, just over one hour North of Melbourne's CBD. The property is 600 acres of thick Victorian bush and farmed paddocks. We have a wide range of hobby farm animals - pigs, sheep, alpacas, chickens, ponies, a donkey, along with commercial heard of South African Boer Goats. As night falls, the wildlife come out to play - kangaroos, rabbits, deer and wallabies. Internally, we have in excess of 10 kilometers of roads within the property, the majority being 2WD accessible (weather conditions apply). There are parts of the property which are only 4WD accessible. Our campsites are placed to allow you to be as isolated as possible - away from other campers (you may see others as you drive past, or they drive past you). At some of our bush sites, you will be able to see other campers, but they are not close by. Additionally, we have now entered our Fire Danger Period for the 2024/2025 Summer Season. We have not toggled the Fire Ban on as we do still allow campfires, however campers MUST adhere to CFA guidelines at all times. On days of Total Fire Ban (TFB), no fires, including gas stoves can be lit outdoors. Furthermore, we reserve the right to ask you not to light a fire regardless of TFB status if we feel weather conditions are unsafe, especially the wind element. We cannot plan the weather and the request to not light your campfires will most likely on the day and we will advise as such. We have an adjacent fire pit area with tree log seating. You can order firewood from us too and a Coleman gas cooker with gas bottle (see extras). Most of the materials are repurposed from another property or scavenged from our forest. We hope to see you soon.

Welcome to Casa Cucina, River House or River Cucina… all the same wonderous environment supporting numerous names… could it be that it is so special, ONE name merely isn’t enough! Our lovely sanctuary of Peace is just 1 hour East of Melbourne along the M1, (and then only a couple of kms off the M1). Situated in West Gippsland, Casa Cucina is a feast for the senses from the alpine majesty of the Baw Baw Plateau, the Bunyip State Forest, the lush green valleys, to the rivers and streams… there is always something to do in West Gippsland for the curious. Further exploration in the area may include Gumbuya World, Nangara Reserve, Noojee and Neerim South, PLUS of course the wineries close by. The Tarago River backs onto our small yet spacious, open yet shaded space we welcome you to. The river is shallow for paddling, as well as ‘swimmable’ (at your own risk), a lovely spot to cool off on our warm summer days, or a mesmerising place to sit, watch, read, contemplate, draw or write. It awakens the creative juices to be in such beauty in nature. Some large old Mountain Ash remain along the river bank, with lots of new plantings. It is not uncommon to see an echidna, a variety of stunning birdlife, and on dusk, maybe a wombat family. We also host a family of platypus if you are very quiet. As we only take one booking (group or solo) at a time you and your group will enjoy exclusive use of this peaceful space. A maximum of 4 vans on River block and 2 on adjoining paddock, in one group. Our river block can hold up to 4 caravans (under 10 metres) and a couple of tents in one group (one booking). In addition, the upper adjoining block can accommodate 2 caravans. This is a single group occupancy site so you can enjoy the privacy of your group. If you wish to hook into our powered site, please add $10 per night, per van. All campers will also have access to our Casa Cucina gorgeous eclectic, quirky community space to sit in out of the weather. Please note: This is not an accommodation space. As a reminder, all campers will need to be Self Contained as we have no toilet facilities, no access to fresh water, cold showers only and no cooking facilities. Also remember if you wish to have a fire in our firepit, you MUST bring your own wood.

A rotonda for our guests as a communal area where you can enjoy a firepit while having a drink and a yarn. Dog-friendly dogs are allowed but on leashes. On the top level is the Master bedroom which has access to a balcony with spectacular ocean views, watch the sunrise over the ocean from your warm king-size bed with a lumber control mattress, fitted with an electric blanket, warm Doona, and comfortable pillows. The main room has a walk-through wardrobe with built-in large wardrobes and a small office nook to complete unfinished business. The ensuite has a shower as well as a corner spa bath, a vanity unit, and a separate toilet area. The upstairs open-plan living area is spectacular offering amazing ocean views throughout. Complete with a dining room setting for 8 guests, with four more bench chairs for extra persons. Relax on the 3 seater lounge and watch the Large LCD TV, sound system, DVD and Netflix. Another two lounges to curl up on and enjoy the Ocean view of Bass straight. The ultimate place to unwind and relax with a drink, read a book or merely sit back taking in the views. Perfect for those who like to entertain and cook up a storm. The beautifully appointed modern kitchen has absolutely everything one could possibly ask for, including a 4 burner electric stove and oven, a microwave, a large fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, and a coffee machine. Also available is a coffee percolator and espresso jug for coffee enthusiasts. One of the major features of this property is the adjoining outdoor entertaining deck complete with an outdoor dining table, commercial grade Christie BBQ, and million-dollar views! another 3 bedrooms! Bedroom one (1) has a double bed, Bedroom two(2) consists of 2 bunk beds a single bunk as well as a king single bunk, all bunks have full slumber mattresses and are strong enough for adults to gently sleep on and in case of extra guests we have provided two (2) foam mattresses under each bunk. Bedroom three (3) has a Queen bed with lumber support sleep-easy mattresses, ocean views can be seen from the lower level but not as well as upstairs. All Bedrooms have built-in wardrobes with extra blankets and pillows for comfort for our guests. Also a centrally located bathroom with shower and toilet. The downstairs living zone is spacious and an absolutely fantastic area for the kids to play or for those wanting some peace and quiet, complete with a large smart TV Adjoining this room is a kitchenette with a microwave, small fridge, crockery, utensils, kettle, toaster, and coffee pod machine. This is perfect for a couple of families or couples sharing the house providing a fully self-contained area allowing the ultimate in privacy. It also has a laundry with a washing machine, clothes dryer, iron, and ironing board. This property is truly unique, offering ocean views from the front of the property and then you step out the back into a tranquil bush setting. Hidden among the trees is an outside table entertainment area with a stunning swimming pool. Sea Paradise also offers reverse-cycle air conditioning/heating throughout. Plenty of parking with enough room in the driveway to park a boat and a number of cars. The double lock-up garage has been transformed into another entertainment area complete with a large pool table and table and chairs...Great area for the kids particularly those teenagers who love to have their own little space! But wait there is more.... A sauna is located in the garage to warm yourself up before jumping into to pool. Enjoy the colder months snuggled up in the warmth of the house soaking in the ever-changing moods of the ocean, watching for dolphins and whales. Soak in the spa bath and crawl into a warm bed. The only thing that changes in the colder months is our reduced prices. St Andrews Beach is a lovely quiet suburb with the convenience of having a superb cafe a 10 minute walk down Paradise drive along with a yoga and meditation retreat. Other close must visit places are a 5-minute drive to St Andrew's Brewery, and 10 minutes to Rye Hot Springs. 5 min walk you will also find access to the breathtaking ocean beach.

The cabins are converted shipping containers. Cabin 1 has a king bed, Cabin 2 has 2 double beds (bunk style) and a yurt (up to 4 poeple) share the facilities. Please do note the yurt does not have direct electricity and supplied are these wonderful portable flood lights to hang in trees and inside. Charging station in the toilet shed or kitchen. The yurt is approx 150 meters from the cabins and very private. It has one king matress and two single mattresses that normally make up a couch to rest on. It's warm and so peaceful you will never want to leave. Total capacity 1 - 10 people in the cabins/yurt.
