We spent the weekend at Darren’s property and had an amazing experience! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. Darren helped us get settled in and answered all our questions. Over the next few days, he showed us around the property and we had the chance to interact with the animals, which was a highlight. The campsite had a private bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen — everything was extremely clean and well-organised. Darren is very friendly and made us feel right at home. The property itself is beautiful and peaceful. We highly recommend this place — 10 out of 10! We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend Trip to Fame Mountain Camp - pets welcome

This place is a hidden gem. A small, intimate, quiet campsite that feels off grid but has bathrooms/showers and enough firewood to keep you going! The view of the valley is simply spectacular. All sites are unpowered but they have filtered tank water. We chose to camp on a weekend where rain was possible. The land is a mountain but has been excavated with level steps for camping. That said, continuous rain obviously is going to create a very muddy environment. John and Mei have done what they can to create drainage. They are a very hospitable couple. The bathrooms are kept clean and tiny. This campsite requires a 4WD, especially when it’s wet.

Absolutely gorgeous beaches. Very clean washrooms. It would be preferable if either reception was open later or there was a way to communicate without phone calls for people who are without a cell phone.

Weekend Trip to Willowbank

We had a great time here. The owners were very helpful and friendly . The spot by the river was perfect — our boys had a great time exploring. We had a tent and the area was nice and flat. We will be back in the future.

4 nights at Willowbank

Willowbank in the little town of Stroud Road, wow what a gem. We glamped with our 22 foot van at the Long Flat site, which sits right beside the beautiful Karuah River. The huge private site with freshly mowed green grass on the perfectly level site made setting up a breeze, and the beautiful Karuah river flowing down from the Barrington Tops was just stunning, peaceful, calming, and truly majestic. Beautiful trees line the river, providing lovely shade and attracting a variety of birds that made every morning feel like a nature show. Even though the weather wasn't perfect, it didn't dampen our experience one bit. Jo and Ian, the wonderful hosts, went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Their kindness and care for the place and their guests really shines through. It’s just a short 10–15 minute drive into Stroud and about 30 minutes to Gloucester, but honestly, once you’re at Willowbank, you won’t want to leave we certainly didn’t. Can’t recommend this spot enough. Thank you so much Jo & Ian we can’t wait to visit again soon.

Weekend Trip to Myrtle Ridge farm

What a magical place and conveniently only an hour and a half from Sydney. We were welcomed warmly by Bev. A fabulous lady who went above and beyond to settle us in. She helped us pick out a great spot. We spent two nights here and it was just magical. Fire pits provided with timber on site you can purchase. It was peaceful and felt very secure. Toilet facilities were very clean. It was our first camping experience and we certainly will be making Myrtle ridge farm a regular stop for us. Thank you Bev-we look forward to staying with you again.

It was a beautiful location, just perfect for a peaceful getaway. Was not crowded which was the best thing and relaxing. View was mind blowing and very easy to get there if you follow instructions.

We had a great time camping on Brett’s land! Despite the heavy rain and muddy conditions, we still really enjoyed ourselves. We chose a spot closer to the road which made things a bit easier. The basic amenities were definitely appreciated, and Brett was super friendly with great communication throughout. The highlight was star gazing on a clear night by the fire - absolutely amazing! Thanks again!

Weekend Trip to Cranky Rock Hunter Valley

Would absolutely recommend for solo travelers and families. There are cows on the property that come and say hello. The views are incredible, especially if you wake up early to see the sunrise above the trees. The property is enough off the main road that you don’t see anyone or hear cars but still close to town that you can pop in for a coffee or explore. The camp site is very big so that you and other campers aren’t right next to each other. Will definitely be back! Can’t recommend enough!

My wife, son and dog loved camping at Willowbank! Joanne and her husband are great hosts. The site was excellent with easy access to the river, which was flowing and great for a very refreshing dip. We're hoping to return when the weather clears up!

Lovely location (hidden away behind some windy roads). Very well spaced out sites and more private sites further in. No phone coverage which to me is a plus 😂 Owners were nice and friendly. About 5 minutes from town (expect tourist pricing for everything except the pub). Would be happy to spend a long weekend there again!

Premium and exclusive natural camping at its best. Our farm is located on the beautiful Karuah River in the picturesque Monkerai valley. The river is a fresh mountain river running from the foothills of Barrington Tops. We only offer 5 sites across our 300 acre property giving you absolute privacy and a sense of serenity We were very pleased to have been recognised by Hipcamp as being one of the top 20 Hipcamp locations in NSW for 2022. Most of the year the river is lovely and clear and ideal for swimming canoeing floating on airbeds fishing photography or just enjoying. There is also some really nice bike riding and walking opportunities around the valley although you will be on gravel roads and we are only 25 min drive from the popular Dungog mountain bike park. You are likely to see a variety of birdlife other wildlife including black and white cockatoos ducks some lizards, occasionally wallabies, echidnas and if you are lucky a Platypus or two. We are fortunate to see platypus in the river frequently which is a sign of just how pristine the water running down from the mountains really is. You will have your campsite completely to yourself with no other camper near you. Privacy, tranquillity, relaxation and just enjoying nature is waiting for you. Be sure to bring your telescope as you’ll be amazed at the stargazing at night with no light pollution. With some lovely Spring rain the river is running beautifully and is great for a swim, fish or canoe. Swimming, canoeing and running the rapids on surf mats is always popular at our property and as long as the river is it normal levels and a lot of fun. However, we always highly recommend people wear some form of footwear in the river such as rafting sandals or old joggers or similar as the rocks are very hard on your feet and there’s a particular nasty little fish called a “Bullrout” that whilst rare can infect a nasty sting if you tread on one. No need to be overly concerned but be mindful. Our property is ideal for self-contained vans, camper trailers, medium motor homes, tents or swags, it’s up to you. There are no toilets so only suitable if you have your own toilet facilities and take away all waste when you leave. All toilet waste, leaving our property is very important and an absolutely essential requirement for all visitors. Public waste dump points are at Stroud, Dungog and Gloucester. Gloucester Dungog and historic Stroud village are nearby as well as Barrington Tops World Heritage wilderness area and national park. This is an operating farm and therefore farming activities such as cattle droving, fencing, grass cutting or hay making may occasionally be occurring somewhere near your site but we would always let you know. We are sure you will enjoy our farm far more than a crowded traditional caravan park or campgrounds. We do have some limited bags of firewood for sale at $20 a bag most of the year. These are heavy bags of very dry local Hardwood. You can also collect firewood along the riverbanks yourself or bring your own firewood for a campfire (subject to any fire restrictions) if that is easier and more convenient for you. When you make a reservation at the property we will always endeavour to put you in your preferred location as best we can. However if we are impacted by adverse weather or need to run cattle on certain parts of the farm then we may need to make a change to the actual site you are in and trust you understand. Rosebrook River Camp

Do you fancy camping on your own exclusive section of the Hunter River with no roads or traffic noise to spoil the serenity? You wont have to share your spot with other campers and you have direct access to the river. Rosebrook River Camp gives you your own private retreat, far away from the crowds but only a few minutes from the beating heart of the Hunter Valley. Our property is situated in the locality of Rosebrook, a fertile area steeped in a rich dairying history. We're only 10 minutes from Maitland and 25 minutes from the Vineyards, but the privacy of the camp site makes it feel like you're miles from anywhere. You've got direct access to the Hunter River with a sandy beach, great swimming holes and it's perfect for a peaceful kayak up or down stream, dependent on river levels at the time of your stay. Bring your own kayak or use ours for a small fee. For those a bit more adventurous, we take you to our drop off point at Luskintyre and you paddle downstream (a leisurely 4 hours) until you arrive at the beach near your campsite. The site is a drive through level, grassy area and easily accessed by 2WD vehicle if you're not towing. For caravans and camper trailers, a 4WD is recommended but it's pretty easy going. Pets are welcome, but MUST stay within the site paddock if not on a lead. Our neighbours have stock and it's important we are always respectful toward them. A garbage bin and recycle bin is provided but you will need your own toilet. There is a designated area for a fire (when conditions permit) and we can supply firewood if required for a small fee.

We are a farm forestry property located in the middle of the north shore of Port Stephens. Two hours north of Hornsby. 1 hour north of Newcastle. 2 mins to Pindimar beach, 9 minutes to Coles and bottle shop, 11 minutes to surf beach, 12 minutes to Jimmy's Beach. Pets are welcome, but please pick up after them. Free firewood - Help yourself to what you need. The logs will need to be split as required. An axe and a wheelbarrow are supplied and are stored, in the firewood storage shed. - Every site has a fire pit. Hot showers and clean, decent toilets. Good mobile signal for Telstra and Optus networks. Two Communal Fridges and a cold communal spa. There is lots of space for campers so you will have privacy whilst you enjoy your camping adventure. We are located on a dead end road, so very rare to have any traffic after 8pm. Good fishing. Pretty much everywhere you can wet a line. Prawns are best bait. If your dog is on the government list of restricted breeds or on the dangerous dog list please leave at home We have a gentle, well trained old German Shepherd who adores kids but after being bitten by another dog, now prefers to stay inside the house and not visit the camp sites. PLEASE NOTE: 1) We ONLY ALLOW ONE camper trailer or ONE caravan per site. No limit on number of tents. 2) IF You Have more than 3 vehicles/site please contact host before booking. 3) Depending on the weather on the day, we may have to limit the number of vehicles that can be parked adjacent to your campsite. 4) NO late night check in . If you are a group larger than two people the check in time is between midday and sunset. Do not arrive after sunset. The reason being if you are a large group turning up late, you will ruin the camping experience of other campers who got there earlier to watch the sunset and just chill. Furthermore, the sunsets are one of the reasons people come here. Every single day it is totally different. If you arrive late you have missed it.... 5) As the business name suggests (mountain) our property is on a slope. We do have several flat areas for tents , hybrids, camper vans and small caravans. And we have 6 levelling blocks scattered across the sites. Dead flat is a concrete slab at any caravan park anywhere but here.

Currently we run around 120 head of Angus and mixed breed cattle. Next door is Oakvale Wildlife Park and close by is Irukandji Shark and Ray Encounters and Go carts Go. A boat ramp to the Tilligerry river is 2.5 kms away which is a great area to fish and kayak . Popular bushwalking tracks are also nearby. Our local shops including a Bp foodworks, bakery, bottle shop, fruit and vege and Take away are 2.5 km away. Also close by is Murrays Brewery and Sunset Vines both with great food, wine, beer and weekend entertainment. We have a flushing toilet.Tank water is for onsite usage only and we ask that you are conservative with water usage. Electricity hook up is available within the campsite (bring an extension lead) BYO firewood and please be firesafe at all times Dogs are welcome, for the safety of others campers they must be kept on leash during your stay and please keep dogs away from all horses on the property. Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. We are located on a wide river estuary, offering sites in open paddocks, secluded among trees and beside dams. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.
