Edgehill Farm Stays is located between Barossa and Clare Valley, 7km out of Riverton, and 1 hour north of Adelaide. We run a sheep and cropping farm which creates beautiful camping grounds at the foot of the hills, just below the Heysen Trail.
The campsites are located on the pasture paddocks of the farm with sheep roaming the area, so dogs on leashes at all times, and please pick up after them. With large distances between other campers, each site can cater for large groups, with no close neighbours. The sites are at least 2km away from busy roads, so absolute peace and privacy!
There's a beautiful push bike ride from Riverton to Clare Valley and all the wineries are along the way. Plenty of room at the property for kids to ride their push bikes.
Fantastic sunsets and sunrises from all sites, and at its best at the SUNSET BAA. Beautiful bird noises, including the kookaburras having a laugh.
There's a very very basic "long drop toilet" pit toilet located near the Gumtree paddock
and 5 others shared, down close to the camping paddocks, if not wanting to use shared toilets, please bring and supply your own portable toilet.
Great Hotels/pubs to dine in at Tarlee and Riverton. Emporium cafe for the best coffee in Riverton

All campers must check in BEFORE 8pm. If you are unable to arrive before 8pm, please make a booking for the following day instead. Generators are allowed on the unpowered sites, please respect other campers with turning them off by 10 pm at the latest.

Why Petticoat? - According to folklore, in the early 1900's a dam was sunk on the eastern end of Petticoat Paddock. The farmer went to check the water level in the dam and he found a woman's petticoat left hanging on the fence. The dam was then named Petticoat Dam and the paddock became known as Petticoat Paddock.

Our spacious, off-grid bush campsites are ideal for campers seeking peace, privacy and an authentic Australian bush camping experience. Explore over 30 km of walking and 4WD tracks through mallee scrub, black oak forest and bluebush, with opportunities for birdwatching and wildlife spotting. The property is home to around 120 recorded bird species, along with kangaroos, emus, echidnas, goannas and other native wildlife.
Relax around your campfire as the sun sets, then enjoy incredible star-filled skies away from city lights. When you're ready to explore further, the River Murray and the historic town of Morgan are just a 25-minute drive away.
Facilities-
Each campsite has a firepit, firewood available to pre purchase. No toilet facilities are provided at this stage, please provide your own self-contained units or bring a shovel. The nearest dump point is in Eudunda.

Tanah Merdeka is a 184 acre cattle farm currently stocked with Black Baldies, Speckle Park, Angus and Hereford.
The creek line paddocks are dedicated to Hipcampers, so you can be assured your campsite won't be interrupted by curious cows during your stay. We can't say the same for the wild kangaroos that call Tanah Merdeka home though.
Please be respectful of the working nature of the property and shut any gates you go through except for the automatic gates. Please respect our privacy and don't venture up the driveway towards the house.
You are welcome to walk through and explore the paddocks containing the creek line. Do not drive across the creek - walking and bicycles only.
Please do not feed the wildlife or the cattle and practice leave no trace camping. For stays longer than one night campers must bring a portable chemical toilet. Use only the firepit provided and comply with current fire danger restrictions. Some firewood may be available next to the firepit but please bring your own firewood if intending to have a fire as this can't be guaranteed.
Dogs are allowed off lead within the fenced camping paddock but be aware of grass seeds.

Bush walking in the Spring Gully National Park is just down the road and within 2klms is the Armagh to Spring Gully trail.
Our neighbours include the fabulous Eldridge Wines, one of Clare Valleys best. Close by are many more fabulous wineries and one of the best Gin Distillers (in our opinion) in the Mid North, Sawmill Gin. The local taxi service is very accommodating and happy to come out to Seven Sisters, they will also ferry you to wineries in the area.

Once on the property there are 3 sites on our farm road with a 4th site set at the back of the property which is very secluded. All sites have seasonal fire pits.

This 20 acre working property is dedicated to our horses, dogs, birds and relaxing!
You are welcome to wander into the big paddock to access the walking trails and continue on to explore the scrub area where many native birds come and go including kookaburras.
The line of trees planted in the gully area are dedicated koala forage trees so also wander down there and have a look and see if you can spot one.
Your relaxed property walk will take you past paddocked sheep (they may run up to you if they think you have something for them to eat. Cut apples or carrots into pieces for them ) Rams and Whethers are together in their own paddock, alpacas and Bobby are in with the Ewes and any lambs at the time protecting them from predators in another paddock.
There are horses, (please do not enter their paddocks) , wild ducks at the damThere are raceways between all paddocks to continue your walk all around the property. Beware of the electric fencing though, it hurts if you touch it!
We also have some very friendly chooks and turkeys that LOVE to say hello and be hand fed chopped up pieces of apple, carrot, grapes and especially watermelon! Feel free to give them any food scraps you might have. We also have a family of magpies will enjoy any meat scraps you leave for them too
Campsites 1, 2 and 3 are on the right hand side as you drive in via the automatic opening gate which you will be given access to once we have added your mobile number to the system after you have booked. We are currently planting more native shrubs and trees in this area to encourage even more bird life plus provide future windbreaks and further divide sites. From this area you will see the most spectacular sunsets and be able to have an open campfire during winter season.
The Dam It site, Tree line site and Solar paddock site are through another gate on the left hand side opposite site 3/ the paddock with the solar panels in it before you reach our residence, aviaries and toilet.
It is also through this gate you go to access the walking trails.
Besides sitting back relaxing reading a book with a nice local wine in your hand there are other nearby options to fill your days while staying on our property.
Take a short drive down Goldsfield Rd to the Mining Museum and hiking trails. A few KM's towards Williamstown stop in and see the Whispering Wall, built between 1899 and 1903, for its time of construction the dam was deemed a revolutionary engineering marvel. Sounds and voices, even a whisper can be clearly heard at the other end of the dam more then 100 meters away.
Continue on through Williamstown and hire a kayak and explore the Warren Reservoir with the resident pelicans. The Warren reservoir was built on the South Para River between 1914 and 1916.
Mt Crawford forest is then another short drive on where you can hike, ride and picnic and be guaranteed to see kangaroos in their natural habitat.
We are also ideally located being at the gateway to numerous wineries, take your e-bike and explore the towns in the Barossa Valley which are linked with rose lined bitumen trails, explore the shops, cafes and enjoy delectable food, stop in at the Lavender Farm, treat yourself to a scenic flights with Barossa Helicopters or challenge yourself at Barossa Bowland and fantastic themed Dinosaur mini golf just to name even more options!
Less than 10 minute drive from our front gate will have you at the lovely town of Lyndoch where the local IGA is a handy stop for those emergency essentials as well as the local bakery, craft shop, pub, post office, Lord of Lyndoch restaurant, Table Cafe Kies winery for starters. 10 Minures the other direction will see you at a new suburb Springwood which has a variety of shops and a Chemist, couple minutes further will have you at the lovely town of Gawler. The visitor center here is also home to local artists to exhibit their works.
Like to kayak? Well a short drive will take you to spectacular opportunities to do so. Hire is also available at the site at different times of the year.
Love exploring by bike? You are at the heartland of multiple trails you can access too. Local bike hire options are available too.
As you can see, you have plenty of options to tailor your stay to suit the type of experience you are after.

Avondale is a working family farm located perfectly between both the beautiful Clare Valley and picturesque Barossa. Located approximately 11 kms from Riverton and an hour north of Adelaide.
Our campground consists of 6 designated van sites with a central fire pit. Individual fire buckets and wood can be provided at an extra charge ($25). Our camping sites are located in a picturesque tree lined gully. A precious slice of untouched beauty. Please don’t help yourself to our trees (no chainsaws).
As we are a working farm, with sheep and alpacas surrounding the campsite, dogs must remain on lead at all times. It is also dog owners responsibility to cleanup after their pets. Please also remain on designated tracks to walk along. Views of sunsets from the top of the hill are breathtaking. Please also always leave gates as you find them.
The local council district provides cafes, amazing pub food (our personal favourite, The Tarlee Hotel), bakeries and push bike tracks. Not to mention wineries.

Ruff Run Camping is situated 15km east of Robertstown, 1.5 hours from Adelaide, on a rustic bush block.
Escape to a true bush experience at our campsite, where nature surrounds you with simplicity and space. Set among native scrub, the site offers the authentic sounds of bird calls drifting through the trees and the gentle presence of sheep grazing nearby. From camp, you can take in wide, open views across rolling hills and distant ridgelines, accompanied by the dry creeks which make a great setting for a lovely stroll creating the perfect backdrop for a peaceful getaway. Whether you’re after a quiet spot to relax or a place to explore the outdoors, this campsite provides a genuine bush setting with plenty of room to unwind under the star filled open sky.
It has plenty to offer with very secluded sites with maximum privacy. All sites are equipped with a very generous camping area, ideal for bigger groups. Preferably suited to off-road caravans and campers but still accessible by an everyday vehicle.
Ruff Run Camping is for self contained units or feel free to use natures toilet! Please take great respect in our lovely land and leave the site as; or better then you found it. Please take all rubbish with you
Important Information to know before booking:
ALL GUESTS/VISITORS MUST BE BOOKED IN BEFORE ENTERING OUR PROPERTY
Check-in must be before 8pm. If you are unable to arrive before 8pm, please book for the following day instead.
Plenty of fallen timber around you are welcome to collect for firewood, however, strictly no chainsaws or cutting down of trees, you are more then welcome to bring your own firewood with you. Strictly no motorbikes, firearms, rally driving, or rock climbing on the property.
Pets are allowed, as long as they are controlled on a leash as there is livestock nearby

The location is very private with some of the best views of any campsite we have been to- looking SW towards Port Wakefield and the cropping area west of Clare and it’s so close to the Seven Hills wine region. The free firewood and provision of fire pit was really appreciated.

We loved our stay at Tana Merdeka. Thomas was a great host. The location was great. Close to Mt Pleasant, Birdwood and the Mannum Waterfalls. We camped by the little creek, surrounded by the soothing sound of the frogs and were visited by Kangaroos, rabbits and a fox. We also loved having the site to ourselves. We will definitely book again.

Our stay at Rocky Valley was great! The views from the campsite over the Barossa are spectacular and we had the space completely to ourselves. I would highly recommend staying at the Valley View camp-site. Its so close to Tanunda and yet feels miles away from anyone.

Large, flat, grassy space with a fire pit.
Far enough from the main road to be super quiet, but close enough to be convenient.
The site is visible from the dirt road but we only saw about three cars and a motorbike all weekend.
Thomas’s directions are clear and it was easy to find - even in thick fog (Google maps might suggest turning into the paddock early… you can’t. But don’t worry. The real entrance is just a few hundred metres further on)
The site has very lush grass, so if it’s been wet or is going to be dewy, rubber boots would be handy.
Very peaceful and relaxing, yet still close to Mt Pleasant and surrounds. A great base to explore a beautiful part of the country.

We loved our stay at Edgehill Farm. Our caravan is only small so having use of the Shepherd’s Hut gave us more room to spread out and the log fire was perfect for the chilly nights. The Sunset Baa didn’t disappoint with some glorious sunsets and a view over the valley. Our hosts, Trish & Peter, were very friendly & very accommodating during our stay. We will be back to try out one of their other sites on the Farm. We highly recommend this property for anyone looking for a quiet stay with great views.

Our second stay at Edgehill, and definitely not our last.
We stayed in the Shepherd’s Hut and loved it—cosy wood heater, stunning views, plenty of wildlife, and a peaceful atmosphere. The amenities are clean and only a short walk away, and we even had sheep and a few friendly cats wandering near our site. Sunset Baa was especially beautiful.
What really makes Edgehill stand out is the hospitality. Trish and Peter are consistently friendly, welcoming, and wonderful to chat with. They were incredibly accommodating when our plans changed, made sure we were safe during our stay, and genuinely went above and beyond to help.
The property is fantastic, but the hosts are what make it truly special. Their warmth and care turn a great stay into an exceptional one. We can’t wait to come back.

It was great camping at Breakaway Farmstay with my partner using our camper van! The farm itself was beautiful views with the additional of adorable farm animals (goats, sheep, cows and the cheeky magpies)! The amenities were great as well; felt like a luxury with flushable toilets! We got the powered site with access to running water (rain water)! Being able to have access to the undercover bbq/picnic area was great for our cooked breakfasts and dinners! I do recommend if you want to switch off from the outside world 🫶

Tiatukia Farm Campsite by the Sea was perfect for what we needed. The views were incredible and the peace and quiet was lovely. We were the only campers there but the sites are limited and well spaced so everyone has privacy as well as a great outlook.

We stayed at Site 2 and had a fantastic experience. The scenery was excellent, with beautiful views and amazing sunsets each evening. There was plenty of space between sites, which made it feel peaceful and private. We also really enjoyed listening to the birds throughout the day and especially in the mornings. Overall, a relaxing and scenic spot that we would happily visit again.
