Camping in a quiet, peaceful rural location with lots of space, at a small private vegetable market garden and hay farm. You can base yourself on our property while making trips to nearby Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, Daintree National Park, local beaches and other attractions. We offer sites beside a vacant farm cottage and hay shed, or a choice of other areas around the farm. Campers have use of spacious, clean amenities with hot shower, toilet and vanity. In the drier months, from April to December, we bale our pasture, and grow mixed vegetables and flowers to supply our roadside market stall in Mossman on Wednesdays each week. See Facebook: Pink's Produce, Miallo. Ours is a working farm that the two of us (not young folks) manage on our own. Campers can join in whatever we are doing at the time, stand by and watch, or just sit back and enjoy. If you are interested in growing veggies or just seeing how we do it, then we are happy to show you around. Otherwise you can just relax in peaceful surroundings. Our farm also offers unique elevated views of the local farming area with a backdrop of The Great Dividing Range, the Coral Sea and Port Douglas. There is also an impressive variety of butterflies and bird life to enjoy. Hosts are happy to show campers around our market garden that we start cultivating after the wet season and usually continue until December - weather dependant. Guests will have access to a portable fire place during their stay as well as a BBQ grill and hotplate. Firewood is available for purchase. We have electricity available from the vacant cottage at $20/night. Must be booked through Extras. Our 150acre property has spectacular mountain views, as well as views to Port Douglas and the Coral Sea. Nearby there are several larger creeks for cooling off, and properties with horses, cattle and sugarcane. We are a 15min drive to Mossman, the closest town, and 45mins south to Port Douglas or north to the Daintree township. Camping near Wonga Beach guide

Overview

Fringed by coconut palms, World Heritage-listed rainforest, and powder-white sands, Wonga Beach is the seaside paradise that campers didn’t know existed. Hidden away between Port Douglas and Cape Tribulation along the coast of Far North Queensland, you’ll have rainforest hikes and ocean views in abundance, far from the crowds. Camping at Wonga Beach is all about getting back to nature, whether you go glamping in the heart of the rainforest, enjoy a local experience at a remote farmstay, or check into the caravan park with powered sites and dump points. The town itself has few amenities and patchy cell phone reception, so prepare yourself to leave the “real world” behind and dive into outdoor adventures instead. Explore the 4WD trails of the Daintree National Park, spot crocodiles on a Daintree river cruise, ride a horse along the beach, or paddle out to Snapper Island by sea kayak.
