We are agile wallaby carers, with the rescued joeys being released back into the forest from here. After a day of kayaking or hiking or exploring the area we also offer a sunset massage (as available ) by a local masseuse who lives on the property. A beautiful 160 acre paddock that you can enjoy.
Cleared slashed areas beside the river. Enjoy a river swim to cool you down during summer and go for a cold dip during winter. River is also good for fishing during the right season. Access to river is 100 metres on graded walking track.
Unless you have a ‘booster ’there is very limited mobile coverage or internet. {enjoy the peace and solitude}
Access to the property is fourteen kilometres gravel, coming off the highway.
Sites are private separated from each other, some sites suit clothing optional guests
Site is 300 metres from road and provides privacy. Tents and small caravans are ideal. Not suitable for highway caravans or very large vans as the access will be too rough.

The campsite features a large flat grassy area with great access for 2WDs and all types of camping vehicles from caravans to campervans and motorhomes. Plenty of room to turn your vehicle around and a lockable gate means your campsite is secure.
We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower and drinking water.
Our front paddock is visited nightly by lots and lots of wallabies. We have fantastic sunrises and sunsets here. You’ll really love the great views we have towards the east and west.
Recently the owners of the paddocks to our north have started developing them, and we now have a solid fence along the north boundary to protect our/your privacy.
Please be aware that on some days there can be noise from the work site from 7am. Fortunately it's not everyday and they are usually gone by 2:30pm.
We are still a peaceful campsite with plenty of bird and animal life only 10 minutes from the centre of Cairns and the Wallabies still come to visit, on any given night we can have up to 70 of them in the paddock!

We have a peaceful spot right on the edge of our dam which is stocked with Barramundi and brim you can feed the fish every afternoon off the pontoon. ( sorry no fishing )
From here it's only minutes to the centre of Mareeba, 45 minutes to Cairns and only half an hour to Lake Tinaroo which is famous for its fishing with its monster Barra. We are also close to several national parks with sensational swimming holes.
You can choose to set up camp facing the back of the block looking out into the bush for complete privacy and watch the kangaroos and wallabies, or you can set up overlooking the dam and looking up the block to the back of the house.
We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to drinking water and power.
Our property is nestled in a quiet location except for the birdlife, backing onto bushland with a small creek on one side and a dam full of Barra and native fish on the other.
There is a big level pad to set up on right on the edge of the dam. The campsite area is 2WD accessible and there's plenty of room for all types of camping vehicles.

Great site - Dean & Chris were awesome.
Perfect for campervans / caravans (def not for tents), by a nice creek. Excellent bathrooms, good laundry, BBQs for cooking and tables. Tubs provided for fire pits - bring fire lighters if you want to use them.
Overall it felt safe and comfortable.

I love waking up in a valley, surrounded by nature immersed in this unique silence. The hills around take different colours during the day. Very comfortable and ideal setting to enjoy what Port Douglas has to offer. Phil and Annabelle are great hosts. I highly recommend using this property.

Nice peaceful spot with a short walk to river. Great cold shower n drop toilet if needed. Arthur was a great host and very helpful and patient after we mistakenly went down his driveway instead of the camp entrance with our caravan (follow instructions!) cant wait to stay again.

Perfect place to stay if you are in the cairns area. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of town but a close drive to everything you need.

Dean the host was so welcoming! This is a great location with a great history and very cool to say we’ve stayed at the old Hartleys Croc site with a croc even in the creek on the site. The only downfall was that we weren’t allowed to park our camper trailer on the grass so it was separate to our tent area. This meant we had to walk between our camper trailer kitchen and swag. Otherwise, great overnight stay.

Great safe and quiet spot, clean amenities and Dean is a great host, he will show you to your spot and get you settled in. Great beach nearby with a good fishing spot where the creek runs into the sea. Fires are allowed and power and water hook ups. We will stay again.

Fantastic location nestled in Mowbray Valley. It is on a quiet road and walking distance to a nice hike (Bump Track), which takes you up the mountain to spectacular views over the valley and to the ocean. Follow a little further to a beautiful creek, and waterfall views along the way.
Great location, being about 6 min to 4 mile beach and under 10 minutes into Port Douglas.
The hosts were very welcoming and met us on arrival to make sure we were alright getting set up. Very responsive as well by message.
Considering the extortionate pricing of the holiday park in town this is a good deal. We would definitely stay here again when up this way.
