Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or potable water at this Hipcamp.
LOCATION: 114 Maitland Rd, Gordonvale. 20 klms south of Cairns and just 1 klm WEST of the new Bruce Hwy, mid-way between Edmonton and Gordonvale. GO halfway up driveway between the two pillars. 5kph speed limit. Turn LEFT into open grass camp area. Park to one side. MUST BE SELF - CONTAINED (meaning you will need your own facilities and utilities like water, shower, toilet, solar). We can cater to CARS, CARAVANS, TENTS, SWAGS, CAMPER TRAILERS, ROOF-TOP TENTS, MOTORHOMES, VANS. Privacy, relaxation, safety after a long drive or a big day out exploring. Come to our campspot, relax and enjoy the flat grassy spots, cool breezes, rural views, birds, on quiet and private acreage that offers safe and secure overnight camping within 5 mins of shops, supermarket, laundrette, post office, medical facilities. 4 klms south of the campspot is the Gillies Hwy at Gordonvale to take you to the Atherton Tablelands (Malanda, Millaa Millaa). 20 klms north begin the tourist destinations of Kuranda, Green Island, Fitzroy Island and Northern Beaches of Palm Cove, Trinity Beach and Port Douglas, the Daintree World Heritage Rainforests and Great Barrier Reef. We also offer weekly/monthly STORAGE of caravans, cars, vehicles at reasonable rates. Just ask! Please keep your pets and children under control for the benefit of other campers, and take all rubbish when leaving.

Fantastic location & very peaceful

Loved the middle paddock, we had power & water as part of our stay, it was secluded from main house with trees and hedges. The serenity was great, enjoyed listening to the birds and having peace & quiet away from the busy streets of Cairns. Dogs were able to be on a long lead to ensure they didn’t wonder off and disturb others and with only a Short drive in to town for supplies … Highly recommend to anyone.

Gales property is so lovely! The field is very private and flat and has lovely plants around the perimeter. Gale is very kind and welcoming. Its is 5 mins away from Gordonvale (with grocery stores and some food options) and 20-30 mins away from cairns! We definitely would recommend staying here if you’d like to be close to cairns but not be crowded in a camper lot :)

Middle Paddock was such a lovely spot. The space is beautiful, flat and amazing for the dogs to have a play if you are by yourself. Gale was super helpful. Great place to stay.

Great place to camp up at for a few days. Serene, lovely grass, plenty of birds singing, beautiful surrounds and Gale and Burt are lovely hosts.

Exceptional private property surrounded by hills and sugar cane farmland. Plenty of room to spread out on beautifully manicured grounds with electricity hook up only. No amenities. Easy drive to Cairns CBD, 20 mins. Host very accommodating, gave exact directions/info once booked. Definitely recommend and will revisit if in the area.
