If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond. We currently don't have a boat ramp however once you have launched your boat at the public boat ramp we have a nice bay in front of the campground where you can anchor your boat.

There is a designated area that can be hired for parties and private functions with marquees available if required. Pets are welcome and must be under control and on a leash as there are farm animals kept on this property. Camp fires are permitted in communal fire areas or at your camp in provided fire drums. There is a limited number of fire drums available, so you are welcome to bring your own. The only exception will be if a local fire ban is activated. We have firewood available for sale, or you can collect free firewood off the ground. You are also welcome to bring your own firewood. No chainsaws allowed. Please note that there is no potable water on site. You must bring your own DRINKING water. During extreme weather events the property can be affected, so if rain is forecast, please call before heading out. If travelling in a 2wd please contact us before booking, some of the campgrounds have to be reached by crossing the creeks, Girard camp is one of them where the office and the showers are, at times this crossing is under water and is only accessible by 4wd. Other campgrounds are available near the entry gate that don't require a creek crossing for access and toilets are available on some of them. One side of the property is bound by Emu Creek and the other by Girard Creek, both creeks have enough water with some permanent deep water holes for all year activities. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. The front section is undulating with plantation forest (spotted gum) and bushland, towards the back it has mountains, steep terrain and millions of trees with spectacular views and great hiking tracks.

Welcome to Aloomba Lavender Farm. We offer bush camping with powered and unpowered sites. This means you will not be placed very close to other vans unless you are friends and choose to be together. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

Fish the creek for Yellowbelly, Cod or just sit back, relax and enjoy the abundant bird and wildlife. Have a swim, go kayaking or take a walk to explore. Or why not join us for a coffee and meal at CC Cafe Thursday-Sunday! Pet friendly yes, all pets are to be kept at your camp, on leash to walk and must be cleaned up after. Generators are allowed, MUST be OFF by 8pm as a consideration to others. Our gates close at 4PM if you are unable to be in by 5PM you will have to unfortunately arrive the following day. Sightseeing inside the property we have Girard Falls, a 50m deep waterfall, nature at it's best. The only entry into the property is by Emu Creek Rd a gravel road. Emu Creek Retreat is located in the far north-east of New South Wales. We are approximately 200 km from Brisbane, Toowoomba and Gold Coast, 150km from Byron Bay. Tabulam is the nearest town 12km away. Fuel and groceries are available at Tabulam along with a post office, pub and police station. Casino is 68km away and Tenterfield 78km. Once a working cattle property, in the 90's was converted into a camping and 4WD park. Since 2017 has been a family own and operated property, pet friendly, we are using the existing large camping grounds to convert it into a camping paradise. Two properties combined with close to 2800 acres, fronting Paddy’s Flat Rd for 2km and extends 7km to the back fence bordering a 22000 acre cattle property. In many cases you will be able to choose where you wish to park. Not all sites are level, but you are able to site your camp/ van as you wish. There are no cement pads. There is access to toilets and hot showers. You may have to walk some distance to the amenities but the solitude, the quiet, safety and stars make all worthwhile. There is a dedicated firepit and firewood is supplied. We can supply no water other than sufficient to cook dinner. You are welcome to use some of the vegetables and herbs but not to strip the vegetable garden! If in doubt - ask. We have great coffee and Devonshire teas but we are not a cafe. However there is a great little lavender shop where you can buy our own lavender essential oil, or a cake of soap or a Baggallini Handbag. We are dog friendly! We welcome well behaved dogs. We are 20 km from Stanthorpe. You may see wildlife or cattle through the fence and an occasional vehicle going down the road. We have a sealed road all the way to our boundary and then drive through the lavender. If you visit in late November through to early December you will enjoy our lavender flowering, but the plants look very pretty all year around in neat rows. We are a commercial farm so there is the need to work to the rhythm of the lavender.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Camping on Clarence is exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the hosts were incredibly welcoming, and the location, cleanliness, and presentation of the facilities were nothing short of outstanding—truly to the highest standard. The site sizes are generous, allowing plenty of space and privacy between campers, which adds to the peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. I stayed for three days but came away feeling like I’d been there for a full week—it was that relaxing and rejuvenating. The location is beautifully secluded, offering total privacy and tranquillity. We loved our stay! It was an adventure getting in and felt like we were at the end of the earth when we arrived. The feeling of isolation and remoteness was one of the best bits about this place. Beautiful grassy areas on a great spot of river. Lots to explore and do! We do a very wild bush walk which was the best adventure I have had in a long time! Loved the free use of canoes. We camped with toddlers and the facilities were great. Not much shade but if you have a gazebo/awnings on car it isn’t a problem.

Silky oak was such a great campsite. Lots of trees for shade, the river was close by and toilets. Lived our time there and would definitely go back!

Clarence River Lodge is so stunning !! It was our first time exploring the wilderness and we loved it. Sharon was lovely and it was very nice listening to her stories. We took our Cherry Tiggo 4 which is a 2wd and it made it through the gravel roads, be sure to drive super careful though if taking a 2wd.We stayed in the tree hut and it was nice and cozy. Our overall experience was amazing.

Thanks to Steve and Sharon for having us. We had a lovely time and enjoyed the whole property to ourselves. Amenities were kept clean and tidy, all surrounded by the natural beauty. Campsites were all very well kept and additional ice bricks and deep freezer provided to help keep food cool in what was very warm weather. We were also able to read about the history of this beautiful place and the journey of the family who have occupied it for decades. They have been through flood and fire and are so resilient. It is obvious why they love this place so much. If you are planing to make the trip out to this beautiful property with a 2wd be mindful that the road is uneven in places and you should only make the journey if you feel confident in your vehicle. Steve and Sharon were kind enough to escort us out of the property when we left.

From the moment we arrived, Sue made us feel incredibly welcome and took the time to introduce us to the property, including a visit through the beautiful lavender shop. After setting up camp, we later met Deb (2.0), who was hand-cultivating the lavender. What a wonderful experience—learning about the flowers, how they’re used, and hearing Deb share her extensive knowledge of the farm. An amazing spot with outstanding facilities, made even more special by the genuinely lovely people. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us.

Amaroo also known to some long time visitors as Snake Valley, is situated on a massive property and backs onto the Toonumbar National park. The property sits at the top of a 2.7km dirt road to the top of a small mountain with incredible views of Mount Lindsay and Mount Barney. The owner (my dad) has spent over 30 years bringing the land back from blade glass to the early stages of rainforest through native seed propagation and bush regeneration. After decades of keeping the land free from domestic and commercial animals, the native wildlife has had come back in abundance and is thriving. Depending on the time of year you could see any number of wallabies, goannas, and echidnas, to countless varieties of birds and butterflies, small marsupials, koalas, micro bats, snakes, and even a few lone dingoes have been spotted from a distance during duck breeding season. Therefore we don’t allow dogs or cats to be brought onto the property. Pitch your tent, or pull up your situation either on level gravel or in a grassy zone however close or far from the communal zone as you wish. The communal zone is made up of a shack with a kitchen sink and a BBQ (BYO BBQ gas or you will need to request as an extra), there is tank water and lights all running off solar, a big long bench table and stools for preparing food, underneath the pagola of this open shack is an indoor fireplace. 50m from the shack connected by gravel paths and garden beds is the hot gas shower and composting toilet, each in their own enclosed dwellings with lights. From the shack and where you camp you will have the best views of the mountains. You will be 100m-ish from the top main dam where you can swim (we just ask that you don’t remove the fish, yabbies or turtles from their homes). The level below the shack is the main house where the property owner lives, and the level below that is the motocross tracks. There are walking and bike paths down to the motocross tracks that avoid going past the main house, if you are riding or just want to go for a walk. PLS NOTE you may be around other people during your stay at Amaroo. There is a small community of motorcross riders that access the private tracks and sometimes camp. If you wish to have the campsite to yourself please msg us before booking to make sure it will be exclusive. Most of the time this property is peaceful and filled with noises of birds and tree breeze, but there are occasions where the tracks will be in use. Motorbikes can get noisy!

Lucky’s Ridge is a 120acres property of bush, heavily timbered with straight eucalyptus, situated north NSW, near Tabulam, at the foot of great dividing range. It’s subtropical (summer rain, dry winter usually, no frost). The primitive campgrounds have two compost toilets and two wood fired hot showers. Camp kitchen has a wood stove/oven, kitchen sink and benches (no fridge). All water taps are on rain water. There is a herb/veggies garden guest are welcome to pick from. Please be aware that there is only 12v power available (usb charging station), and Telstra reception is there but just and Optus is patchy. I have friendly dairy goats, sheep, cows, pigs and horses roaming on the property, maintaining the grass short and fertilised (watch for the poop!), and chickens, duck and rabbits, all mostly free range in the Permaculture garden and orchards near the house. I'm into homesteading, and I grow and raise (and butcher) most of my food. I enjoy sharing my land and experience with others, so I’ve recently had a primitive campground approved and open. It was mostly to host seasonal self reliant backpackers coming to pick blueberries at Mountain Blue, so it offers a bit more than just a place to camp, but it stays rather rustic. I’m also keen to host people interested in off grid living and sustainability or whoever wants to come and camp in this quiet, not crowded at all part of the bush. Hipcampers please be aware that from August til December, backpackers may be living at the campgrounds. If you are interested in a garden tour, feeding the animals, milking the goats and/or pony rides, please let me know in advance. We also have some mountain bike trails (jumps, etc) for keen riders (work in progress).
