If you have a 4wd you can take a short drive up to Spicers Gap National Park. Here there is a short walk out to the Governors Chair lookout with spectacular views of the Fassifern Valley and beyond.

My group and i loved camping here, its spacious, great views, and the owners are really nice. They had a dog who would play and hang out with us for hours everyday, and was not aggressive at all. They sell firewood and ice for a fair price and the amenities block (which had clean showers with hot water) isnt far from any of the campsites. They also had free drinking water at the campsites. Upon arrival the owners showed us some hiking trails, gave us some useful tips and a map for each of them as well as access to their free wifi. They also encouraged us to walk around and explore the area. Overall, it was a great spot to go to, we will be back here one day, i highly recommend.

Great hipcamp. Plenty of space and great view of river and surrounding hills . Toilets and showers were clean and spacious. Ben was a nice guy and a great host. Looking forward to making the trek back down again from Brisbane.

Absolutely amazing stay. Katrina’s hospitality was incredibly kind and welcoming from start to finish. The land is beautiful with stunning views, and everything was clean and well maintained. A peaceful, relaxing spot! highly recommend to future Hipcampers.

We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this campsite. The scenery is stunning, with wide open fields, beautiful mountain views, and incredible sunsets that made evenings by the campfire extra special.
It’s very family-friendly, with plenty of space for kids to run around and explore. The nearby creek was a lovely bonus. It was clean, peaceful and refreshing.
The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which really made our stay even more enjoyable. Overall, a peaceful and memorable camping experience. We would definitely come back and highly recommend this place.

We had an amazing time staying at Mountview Farmstay. The Katrina was lovely and welcoming from the start, and was quick to bring the wood (top quality too) when we needed a top up. The farm had an amazing view wherever you were on the farm!!! All in all it was a perfect place to spend our anniversary and we will definitely be staying again 😁

Great spot, really well maintained spaces and facilities. The new showers and drinking water, top notch. Lots of activities to do including kayaking. Hosts are really awesome. Appreciate there is cows on the property, but they nice majestic beasts.

We had a great week On the Clarence. Bathrooms done right 👌 best toilet facilities we've seen.
Lovely, spaced out camps. Not crowded - capped at 30 campers total. Beautiful bird song of a morning. The most friendly, doe-eyed cows, totally cool to munch grass right around our camp. No ouchy bindis. No biting mozzies or midgies. Bikes to borrow for those urgent toilet dashes. Perfect temperature river to swim in and paddle on. We enjoyed exploring the 4WD tracks.
Grace and Ben run a solidly built, well maintained, carefully though out camp ground. e.g, instead of bags of firewood, it's a $15 load yourself barrow - simple, sensible things like that 👌. The whole place is tidy, and the hosts are helpful and welcoming, without being in your face. Thoughtfully placed fire pits direct new arrivals to choose a well spaced site.
On the weekend, Ben set up a long slippery slide down the hill (bring tubes for that 👌 😄)
We settled into a relaxed rythm of eat, sleep, swim, paddle, and read over endless cups of tea. Played cards into the night. A happy family week. Quiet. Beautiful landscape. Misty mornings.
As my husband said, 'we got to experience a beautiful, riverfront farm, without the work'.
Two tiny faults: Tiny homes, on wheels, have been placed right in the main camp. The T.H's, their cage tanks and solar utilities do detract from the rural aesthetic of the camp. A more exclusive, private localation would have been better.

Recently stayed here for two nights camping and had a fantastic experience. The facilities are really good, and the park itself is a great size—small and intimate in parts, very well manicured, and clearly well looked after. The hosts were absolutely lovely and very welcoming.
The ice and drink facilities are a great idea; if the office isn’t open, they simply charge it to your credit card, which is super convenient. The bathrooms and showers are older, but they were spotlessly clean and very tidy.
The location is a real highlight, with only a 5–10 minute walk to some of the best hiking you’ll ever do. We would happily stay again.

Had the most beautiful time here. Stayed at the Creekside camp - wallabies hopping round of an afternoon, ducks and ducklings by the creek, which is beautiful and clear, perfect for a swim and to rest by on the grass. Amenities were super clean; the grounds were kept to a very high standard. Only a 15min drive to the Lower Portals walk too! Would definitely stay here again.
