Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

Mugul Mountain Retreat is a 300 acre property adjacent to Mt Colosseum (or Mugul as it is called by the local Indigenous peoples). The property borders the national park of Mt Colosseum. Mugul is a site of significance for the Gooreng Gooreng people.
Our property is home to a multitude of pretty face wallabies, kangaroos, bandicoots, goannas, possums and over 60 species of birds. A serene and peaceful place Mugul is where you can experience the energy of a sacred Indigenous site.
Accessible for all types of vehicles. Dog friendly. The property offers basic camping without facilities. You will need to be self-sufficient. We have a bush toilet but no showers. At the house there are toilets and showers available for an extra charge. Please see us if required. Campfires permitted in a designated area when restrictions aren't in place. You can purchase firewood from us (see Extras). We prefer you to bring your own water, emergency supply can be arranged (we are on tank water). Patchy mobile reception.

The Boyne Burnett Inland Rail Trail Incorporated is facilitating the development of the disused rail corridor from Taragoola (near Gladstone, Central Queensland), through the Boyne Valley, on to Monto, Eidsvold, Mundubbera and south through to Gayndah in the Burnett Valley.
This property covers those campsites in or adjacent to the Boyne Valley.
The corridor is an inland link between Gladstone and Gayndah, which has great natural scenery, wildlife and historical structures with small country towns spread along its length.
There are several campsites (shown here on Hipcamps), on former railway sidings along the trail and a range of other accommodation types, some community NFP operated, which we encourage you to support.

Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

is a 40 acres property on the pristine Euleilah creek which is part of the unspoilt Baffle creek system.
We have a boat ramp and a jetty to use. We have lots of camping options from high on the creek bed which has power and a drop toilet or you can hide away next to one of the 4dams where you can be listen to nature. Only 3 full of water at the moment.
Lots of wildlife, Kangaroos, Wallabies Echidnas and all the usual birds.
The river system is full of fish and crabs. You can swim in the river, no crocs or stingers.
We are adding to the property all the time with toilets, shower and camp kitchen soon to come.

A former railway siding with the closest access point to the six Dawes Range Tunnels on the rail trail. From the tunnels, there are excellent views across to Kroombit Tops, and historical signage has been installed along the trail.
The siding also contains the foundations of a former railway turntable. Kalpowar State Forest Park and campground are located several kilometres to the east, while the township of Kalpowar lies about the same distance in the opposite direction.

From the moment we arrived we were in love with Collie Farm! The tranquillity, gorgeous camping spots, nature and the ever so helpful owners Gary and Christina, this place is amazing. We felt very welcome as did our little pooch. We are super excited to visit again and further explore the beautiful walking bush tracks and to relax and share with some friend.

We took a 22” caravan and a camper truck here. Reasonably flat and power available if you request it in advance. Heaps of fruit trees all around and you are actually encouraged to go and explore. Daryl was very knowledgeable about the things he was growing and happy to share the process that he was going through. Who knew mulberries and bananas were so important!
Toilet and shower available. Pretty bush style toilet but flushing etc. Didn’t use the shower on the property but it looked fine.
Chickens, sheep and cattle to have a look at. Chickens were very friendly. All in all a peaceful getaway. Rained most of the time but that was all good. I would definitely recommend for a few nights away.

We booked this several months ago & admittedly was worried at the recent reviews. But we need not have been at all. Absolutely stunning site! We had very heavy rain but it didn't dampen our experience. We were grateful for a nice hot shower & the pool was lovely & clean. We loved the resident raven! We saw so much beautiful wildlife. The lovely town is just a short 5 minute drive away. We will 100% return here when we're in the area again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

We stayed at an unpowered site and it was perfect. Space for 3 small tents plus the car plus firepit. Beautiful bush surroundings. The camp boasts an awesome array of facilities. Camp kitchen is an awesome communal space where you can meet new ppl and enjoy a nice meal or a game of pool or ping pong. Charging points are also available. The amenities are always clean and has plenty of showers and toilets. The staff are awesome and friendly and always helpful. The top camp has a beautiful pool with views to die for. The wildlife is amazing. Staying here reminded me of camping as a kid. Definitely family friendly. With awesome beaches up the road what more could you ask for. Definitely coming back! Most relaxing camping I've done in years.
