Purchased in 1988 as a block of Bush, the majority of clearing was initially done with a small Massey Ferguson Te20 a long length of chain a shovel and chainsaw.Built originally with nothing more than the chainsaw, shovel, hammer and nails the log cabin that I still live in has undergone a few changes over the years but we have tried to keep it looking the same on the outside made mostly from large hardwood posts and paperbark slabs and half rounds for walls concrete floor with sunken lounge room. The hand built rock chimney is the feature piece of the front of the cabin so be sure to check it out and get a few pics.

Dragon fruit gardens. We produce fruit from November until May. We have over 100 different varieties of dragon fruit, with each one having different foliage characteristics and tastes, like watermelon, lime, coconut, lychee and more. Half of our 3.7 Acres is farm forestry that we are building a syntropic farm in. We are 5km from the beach, 4.5 km from the nearest supermarket and 13km from 1770 headland. 12km to the north we have Eurimbula National Park where you can explore middle creek and Eurimbula creek. 8km to the South we have Deep-Water National Park, where you can discover by 4wd some amazing uncrowded beaches. Close by we have Agnes Water main beach, Workman’s beach, Chinamans beach and Springs beach to explore. 1770 headland offers a short walk with an amazing view. Every second Sunday at the 1770 rotary park we have a local market which is a great place to pick up fresh fruit and veg. Agnes water and 1770 has that small town feel and slowed-down pace with lots of friendly locals making it a great place to explore, take a deep breath and relax. We do not provide power, water or toilet this is for off grid campers only.

Weekend Trip to Travellers Rest 1770 Eco Camping

Myself and my partner stayed 2 nights for a weekend getaway and were beyond happy with the stay. Mike and his family were extremely welcoming and there were more secluded spots available for privacy. It was a quick drive into town and the area was quiet and peaceful with plenty of lovely wide-life. The toilets and showers were a massive bonus and clean and tidy at all times. Although we didn’t use them the hot plates, microwave and kettle could be very helpful. We will definitely be back Thankyou Mike, Michi and family 😁

We had a fabulous 5 nights at Travellers Rest 1770. Quiet, relaxing and plenty of room between camping spots. Amenities were very clean. Close to Agnus Waters to enjoy all the activities available. Definitely on our list of return Hipcamps.

We chose this site due to the positive 5 star ratings on various camping sites. We definitely weren't disappointed!! It was an awesome campground. Michaela and Mike and their three children were most welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed Marks evening talk about the local area and the creation of their little piece of paradise. We are so glad we stayed here because it was only 5 minutes from town and the caravan parks in town had people packed in like sardines! We will definitely be recommending 1770 Travellers Rest Eco Campground to our family and friends. Thank you Mike and Michaela 😊

This place is in the best spot! It’s private and quiet all night. It’s a short walk to the beach and walking track to the head land. I’ve stayed at 1770 and Agnes before and this site is bigger than most of those it just has a driveway to get down and bush surrounding instead of other caravans. if you’re completely self sufficient and don’t want to be crammed in this place is epic! I would definitely recommend and stay there again! The kids loved it and it was such an enjoyable stay.

A beautiful spot that is a short drive from Agnes Water and 1770. The facilities are excellent- hot showers, camp kitchen. There are lovely walks around the property and plenty of flat spaces for a tent. Road noise is the only thing that is a bit of an issue. Earplugs! 😁

We really enjoyed our 5 nights stay Finbay camp it was very private, peaceful with a rainforest fell , with bush turkeys and we felt safe with houses close by at the end of the court we Lit a fire most nights 👍 Also very Walkable to all 1770 had to offer , beach and cafes and hotel Great walking track across the road Tanya was very responsive to our messages and directions were spot on. Highly recommend this stay , bets being packed in like sardines at the 1770 caravan park any day 😎

They provide fire pits (firewood $15 for huge bag, BYO kindling/firestarters)

We had a very relaxing and peaceful stay. Michaela was very welcoming and the facilities were well laid out and well cared for. The grounds were beautiful - a truly stunning setting. My only minor downside was the traffic on the road was fairly busy and the noise, while not overwhelming, was constant.

I had a lovely stay at Finbay! Tanya gave me a buzz before, and I was saddened to hear people had been leaving the place in poor state with rubbish etc. Be better people! The place was very clean however and the site is lovely. Just up from the beach and beautifully secluded. Spot for a fire and an flat even site. Couldn't ask for much more!

10 nights at Korners Bush Escape Deepwater

Large open flat space, surrounded by trees, with a few areas with dispersed trees, enough to give shade but not completely hide the sun. Both dams were great, the kids loved exploring, and the flat sandy “little beach” was a great hit as well. We really appreciated all the firewood! It burnt amazing too. Kangaroos visited everyday, but kept their distance from our camp. We did have little native stingless bees visit everyday, however other than those, there was barely any creepy crawlies (which always find me 😖) Definitely the place you want to go if you want to chill at the site and let the kids completely roam! Yet there is so much to do nearby! Rules Beach - awesome and not too busy beach, not patrolled though, Flat rock boat ramp - prefect for us to kayak from. So many places to kayak too. Agnes Waters - great beaches but more populated, has several stores including a great little independent camping store! As there is no public dump points in the area, the closest was out towards 1770, or Bundaberg. I did however ring the “Baffle Creek Nomad Caravan Park” and organised with them to utilise their dump point for $5. Don’t forget to bring plenty of water. We didn’t find anywhere local to fill up, so did trips out to 1770 or Bundy. (We were there for 10 days, had enough for 4-5 days so needed a top up mid way)
