Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls. The track is not suitable for towing caravans. We are 38klms from Daintree Village on the CREB Track (also known as Upper Daintree Rd) and it will take about 2.5hrs to drive as the road is unsealed, steep in sections and narrow. Be aware of weather conditions before travelling on this road as minimal rainfall can make the track slippery. An alternative route to Yindilli Camping ground is from the northern end of the track from Bloomfield via the China Camp Rd or the Zig Zag Track - both meet up with the CREB Track. We are 27klms from Bloomfield or 1 hour to drive, this section is graded regularly and easy to traverse in the dry season.The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing. There is an abundance of wild life wandering through from the rainforest to the neighboring cattle property including a huge range of birds, numerous wallaby's, and the occasional cassowary. I do have a resident cow on the property. Stewie is extremely friendly and will come to the fence for a pat and will love you even more if you feed him a slice of bread or a carrot. He has no spacial awareness though, so please don’t enter his paddock….. it is pretty scary having a 600kg “puppy” with very big horns bounding toward you wanting to play! The water is tank/bore which is fine for drinking and I am happy for you to fill your water tanks during your stay but I do ask that you use it sparingly…….. no washing of vehicles or vans please 🙏 With only 1 site, you will absolutely not be crowded in. There are no toilet or shower facilities available so you will need to be fully self contained. This is the perfect base to explore all that the Daintree, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas have on offer. Julatten Hotel is a great spot for a cold drink and a lovely meal, with live music on the weekends. 9 Mile Store is 2km from your site and has fuel, some groceries items and takeaway food if you don’t feel like cooking. Mossman is only 18km away for most other supplies and services.

We have a peaceful spot right on the edge of our dam which is stocked with Barramundi, with fish feeding every afternoon. From here it's only minutes to the centre of Mareeba, 45 minutes to Cairns and only half an hour to Lake Tinaroo which is famous for its fishing with its monster Barra. We are also close to several national parks with sensational swimming holes. You can choose to set up camp facing the back of the block looking out into the bush for complete privacy and watch the kangaroos and wallabies, or you can set up overlooking the dam and looking up the block to the back of the house. We welcome self-contained campers who bring their own camping toilet/shower. There is access to drinking water and power. Our property is nestled in a quiet location except for the birdlife, backing onto bushland with a small creek on one side and a dam full of Barra and native fish on the other. There is a big level pad to set up on right on the edge of the dam. The campsite area is 2WD accessible and there's plenty of room for all types of camping vehicles. No pets please.

Bring your tent, car, caravan or motor home...... there is plenty of room! The Meadow is located in a sleepy little rural area at the end of a road, so there is no through traffic and quite private. There is an abundance of wild life wandering through from the rainforest to the neighboring cattle property including a huge range of birds, numerous wallaby's, and the occasional cassowary. I do have a resident cow on the property. Stewie is extremely friendly and will come to the fence for a pat and will love you even more if you feed him a slice of bread or a carrot. He has no spacial awareness though, so please don’t enter his paddock….. it is pretty scary having a 600kg “puppy” with very big horns bounding toward you wanting to play! The water is tank/bore which is fine for drinking and I am happy for you to fill your water tanks during your stay but I do ask that you use it sparingly…….. no washing of vehicles or vans please 🙏 With only 1 site, you will absolutely not be crowded in. There are no toilet or shower facilities available so you will need to be fully self contained. This is the perfect base to explore all that the Daintree, Port Douglas and Atherton Tablelands areas have on offer. Julatten Hotel is a great spot for a cold drink and a lovely meal, with live music on the weekends. 9 Mile Store is 2km from your site and has fuel, some groceries items and takeaway food if you don’t feel like cooking. Mossman is only 18km away for most other supplies and services.

Camping in a quiet, peaceful rural location with lots of space, at a small private vegetable market garden and hay farm. You can base yourself on our property while making trips to nearby Mossman Gorge, Port Douglas, Daintree National Park, local beaches and other attractions. Guests will have access to a portable fire place during their stay as well as a BBQ grill and hotplate. Firewood is available for purchase. Our 150acre property has spectacular mountain views, as well as views to Port Douglas and the Coral Sea. There are small creeks on the property that attract birdlife and have a variety of freshwater fish and turtles in them. We are a 15min drive to Mossman, the closest town, and 45mins south to Port Douglas or north to the Daintree township. You can take a shortcut to the road to Daintree via the WWII Japanese Miallo Bombing Memorial.

We are agile wallaby carers, with the rescued joeys being released back into the forest from here. What a lovely spot! We were unfortunately there with the March flies ( November in the tropics!) but we lit a fire and they mostly left us alone to watch the birds. Theresa & Frank offered us the use of the swimming pool but it was cool enough at this altitude that we enjoyed a walk with our pooch and a glass of red by the fire.

Weekend Trip to Hectic Valley Farm

Hectic Valley is a young and working farm and we really enjoyed our stay! The sites are very generous, with plenty of shady trees (bring your hammock!) and some right next to the dam which hosts many birds and some of the farms poultry. Its dog friendly with lovely scenery and little bush tracks. Campfires allowed and some fire rings are provided. In the booking was the option to include the animal feeding in the morning which I'm so glad we did! We were very warmely welcomed and everyone had a wonderful time feeding and playing with the baby goats, chickens and geese, goats and pigs, camels and water buffalos and many more! Best stay for families with children including groups of families!

What a special little gem of a campsite .. our site had tap water and power , and plenty of room for our ute and camper trailer setup . Peaceful river with sandy bank is only 50 m down some steps. Kayaks, canoes and sun lounge are provided too . Judy and Don are great hosts and very welcoming onto their picturesque property ... not our first time here and we will be back again and again. VERY hard to beat !
