Juliet and Grant have been custodians since 2003, in that time we've built a house, raised a family and now that Alex and Hayley are both at University, life has become a little quieter, (not so sure if we like the quiet though!)
Now we've only just started with Hipcamp, we do have a lot to discover, happy to listen and learn.
We do offer plenty of space and you will not be crowded out as we keep numbers very limited. No facilities, no toilets, showers, electricity, rubbish bins etc. We do ask that you respect this as you must be fully self contained. We do not consider, a bucket with a lid, to be self contained ok!
Right now though in our top dam, we have a flock of White Egrets roosting at night, spectacular when they depart & return each day, however due to the number of these birds, hundreds if not more! they have fouled the water in the dam & it's a bit on the nose.

This was a lovely family orientated campground with a great backdrop of the hills behind Cairns and lots of bird life in the trees. The bathroom was nice and modern and very clean. The laundry facilities were also excellent. There is lots to do here with pools, waterpark and golf. Pizza at the bar was also really good.

We had a lovely quiet time at Tonina's place. There's some history here, an old tobacco shed for starters ect...The camp-sites are big enough that we didn't have to unhitch our van. Each site has a firepit. There is 1 male and 1 female toilet and hot showers + 1 extra toilet and a laundry. Access to the Barron River is via a picturesque 2 minute meander down a path where we found a table and chairs and ended up spending a lot of time enjoying the views of crystal clear water flowing. Mesmerising. We'll be back for sure. 👍

We had a great stay here extended another day so much to do Cape Trib
Daintree and Port Douglas .At site 5 birds in the afternoon a nice sight cows roaming so free just doing their thing Bailey the horse (carrot banana and an apple or 2 😜loved it even had a visit from a skippy at the dam

With kids
Carmen was so polite and helpful, the camping was great for escape from the city life, the walk with Uncle Erl was really nice , he showed us the waterfalls and shared information about the djibugay customs and lifestyle.
Also the pizza at the camping was delicious. I would definitely recommend staying at Billabong Kuranda and go to the pub/ cafe as the night we went it had live music and super cool atmosphere!
