Hold it Flats is a 120 acre property that borders the beautiful O'Connell River that has water all year round. Take a walk around the property to check out some of the creatures that have been built out of scrap metal and bush bars that have been built all around the property. There is nice shady trees, green grass and flat camping sites right beside the river with hot showers and flushing toilets. There is plenty of room and some great tracks for the kids and the big kids to ride their push bikes on. The swimming hole is about 2 meters deep and has big shady trees on the edge. There is also enough room for kids to bring their kayaks and have a paddle along the river. We have some hiking tracks up around the hills of our property that have amazing views of the area. All campsites can be provided with their own fire pit. You just pick your spot and we will bring a portable fire pit to you. Fire wood can be purchased at the property. All rubbish must be taken when you, there are no rubbish bins provided.

Formerly known as "Mountain View Lake holiday park". Relax in this peaceful, family friendly campground, nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range and nearby Mount Elliot. Enjoy the 70 Acres of shady grounds with plenty of wildlife, including pretty faced wallabies and abundant birdlife. Located conveniently 45kms south of Townsville and Magnetic Island ferry terminal,45km north of Ayr and 8km north of Giru. The 20-acre dam is full at the moment (February /March '26) . Great for kayaking or SUP. Still has some weed for the birds! On arrival, powered sites, please phone our on-site caretaker Dylan 0488 611 706, and he can assist you to find a spot that suits you and your group. Unpowered sites can choose anywhere suitable for them. We do have internet reception. Occasionally reception can be weak depending on what the network is doing. Generally, it is not a problem. Bring Mosquito/sandfly spray especially if camping by the lake. Campfires allowed. Wood for sale, $15 cash per milk crate, from caretaker Dylan. Please return crates to camp kitchen for re-filling. Fire rings are available at the sites. Please leave them where they are as moving them is destroying the surrounding areas. Thankyou. Pet friendly. Due to our wildlife all dogs must be on a lead or tethered by a rope and under owners' control at all times. Dog poo must be picked up. No one wants to step in your dog's poo. Separate men and women's toilets and hot showers. Camp kitchen with shared fridges, gas rings x2, large gas BBQ, toaster, kettle, microwave and picnic tables. We have a selection of beautiful creek side locations where you can enjoy the clear, fresh running water and a selection of other sites only a short walk from the water. Conveniently located just a short drive off the Bruce Highway our sites are not designated, you choose your own on arrival KIDS UNDER 17 STAY FREE! MAX 2 ADULTS PER SITE! If coming with additional adults you MUST booking another site. While staying, you will have the opportunity to take a walk into the past to view a private collection of Australiana, including a working stationary, engine display and vintage kitchen with wood stoves. Access to the property is via a creek crossing so it is advisable to phone ahead if there has been recent rain or rainfall is forecast. Toilets are located on the property but campers will need their own shower facilities and take all waste with them on departure. Campfires are permitted but must be contained at all times in a fire pits that we also have for your use, we also sell firewood at $15 for a milk crate. Calen is a small cane growing and cattle town with a general store, pharmacy, service station, butcher and the local pub. Zarby's cafe is a short drive away if you would like to dine in for breakfast or lunch in a retro style setting. Each site fee is for 2 adults and kids stay at no cost. Pets are welcome.

Situated on the bank of the Andromache River, setup camp at one of our cozy camp spots and enjoy the quiet of the bush. We have sites available in our grassy paddock which are accessible by all vehicles. Sand camping is available for 4x4's with tent/swag set ups during the dry seasons. No trailers or vans are permitted on the sand due to bogging. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of a campfire and visual displays of local wildlife, try your hand at fishing in the river or just enjoy a cool swim just a few meters from our grassy sites. Guests are required to be fully self-sufficient with their own toilet/shower facilities and must take all waste and rubbish with them on departure. We provide 10 spacious campsites next to Blackburn Dam that has two rock jetties to allow fishing for Barra, Spangled Perch, Eeltailed Catfish and other native fish. There is also Redclaw and Cherabin so bring your Yabby pots and canoes or kayaks. Campers have access to a modern amenities block which has flushing toilets and hot showers. There is a powered camp kitchen for communal use. Big skies that are great for stargazing and abundant birdlife in a peaceful setting provide a backdrop for your next getaway. Cattle graze the property with the occasional donkey guarding the herd as we don't kill our dingoes. There is prolific bird life and 7 types of wallabies and kangaroos as well as other wildlife in several ecosystems. The property is located about 3 hours from Cairns or 1 hour from Cooktown on a sealed road. Once you turn off the highway, access is 4.5kms on a gravel road. The town of Lakeland is just 8kms away with a Hotel, Roadhouse, Coffee shop and 2 well stocked local fresh produce stalls. We are within an hour of Cooktown and Laura if you would like to do a day trip to the historic towns.

Beautiful campsite and lovely owner. I had originally booked site 5 thinking I couldn’t reach site 3 (with waterfall) as I travel with a campervan and not a 4x4, but with the weather being dry and the site being free, Sheree offered me to camp there instead. Stunning very private spot, I LOVED it and had to drag myself to check-out! Site 5 would have been lovely as well anyway! Cute amenities area too. I recommend 100%.

Staff were very nice and accommodating, handing out a free welcome drinks ticket for the bar on arrival, and flexible when we asked to move to a different camp site. Highly recommend for a camp stay. 2 minute walk to horseshoe bays beach along with shops and restaurants.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Shady, well maintained grounds. Lots of space for campers to be well spread out. Kids loved fishing in the dam. Donkeys were adorable and loved a cuddle. Showers and toilets were a bonus! We will be back!

We had a great time over Easter. Lyndsey brings firewood straight to you for $20 the shower and toilet block were clean and well stocked. Definitely coming back!

Stayed at the Lilly Creek camp site at Hectic Valley Farms. Highly recommended 👌. Very large site with it's own drop toilet, with a view!! We also found the site well mowed, not just slashed which was handy. All in all, a very nice place to spend Easter 2026. We will be back, thanks Kirsty!!

We love coming to hold it flats and once again we had a wonderful time. We brought new friends along this time and enjoyed showing them around and hiking up the mountain and seeing the changes that have been made up there. We loved our trip so much we ended up extending for 2 extra nights. Once again it was incredibly well maintained and impeccable hospitality by Katie and family.

Great spot. Great hosts. Easy & relaxing. We went for a day vist , from Airlie Beach That i would highly recommend if you live in the area. Kayaks where a plus. The children had a ball & it saved dragig our own down for the day. Highly recommended reef shoes for the rocks.

WELL! Donna and I have been visiting\ camping on a regular basis since Terry & Sue opened their outstanding property initially. We have seen so much progress over virtually a short time with beautiful grassed Creek bank sites, toilet block erected and so many kids activities for free. eg Rock Painting, Push bikes, kayaks & fireplaces at most sites. Come this wet season early ‘26 a huge amount of their hard work was washed away and they lost many campsites. Biggest flood since 1978 they say and 3months out of action for camping 😡. Good old NQ Aussie resilience these buggars worked their arses off to get back into action for the Easter weekend which luckily brought many 👌. If you’re travelling through NQ book a night or 2, you won’t be dissatisfied. R&D 🤫🧐

The creekside camping is spectacular. Creek and Antique always delivers a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere. Good options for where to camp, we opted for closer to the creek and enjoyed the views. Toilet facilities are a bonus. So glad to have this so close to home.

Wonderful spot with a beautiful refreshing creek to swim. Very clean toilets, fire pits and the grounds are very well looked after. enjoyable weekend!
