Option 2:
From the Centenary Freeway roundabout, at ripley head 21 km along Ripley Road, which continues and changes name to Undullah Road.
This route is 4x4 access is recommended with some narrow bends – please drive to conditions. We do have 2 wheel drives make the journey !

If you wish to wander further afield, Wiangaree is 15 minutes away and Kyogle is a 30 minute drive south. For those who enjoy a game of tennis there is an all weather tennis court (with lights) nearby at Bundgeam Hall.

Rainforest Gateway is located approximately 8klms along Grady's Creek Road, just 20 klms north of Kyogle and 15 klms from the Queensland border on the popular scenic tourist route, Lions Road. Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

The location of the Treehouse was chosen by our then young children. We all fell in love with the magnificent camphor laurel tree growing at the edge of the seasonal creek.
We all found ourselves drawn to that place, so with the help of our friends and our children we began the project of manifesting a dream into a reality - the dream of living in the tree canopy.
As we worked on the Treehouse, the design was constantly changing. The whole family, especially our youngest son, contributed to the manifestation of the dream. During that time we overcame many obstacles and found solutions to build in the tree. It was an adventure, a lot of fun and we learnt a lot.
It became a dwelling for our kids for a period of time, until they grew up and left to conquer the big wide world.

Down by the riverside you will see Water dragons, turtles, ducks, swamp hens, many birds, occasional Wallabies and Koala. Most afternoons the local Rikali (Australias Otter) can be seen diving for Yabbies.
We are an 11 minute drive to the very popular Main range national Park which has some beautiful hiking trails and is the perfect place for a picnic. We have a great country pub close by as well which is a short walk down a country lane.
Pets are welcome but please ensure they are under your control and that you clean up after them. Campers must be self sufficient with their own toilet.
Rubbish bins are provided for campers and a treated rain water tap is available. Kayaks and life jackets are available on request.

Kyogle is a bustling town with an IGA supermarket, MTB riding tracks, lovely gift shops, cinema, bowling alley, and a selection of dining outlets. For those wanting to immerse themselves in nature, the Border Ranges National Park is a short drive away.
Please note Lions Road is temporarily closed for road repairs and expected to be reopened late January 2026. We can still be reached on Gradys Creek Road off Summerland Way, ignore Google maps if it directs you to Lynches Creek Rd.

Shuttlebus available to our wonderful hippy village. There are curiosity shops with very different stuff, and a smoking culture. There is nowhere else anything like it. You can do Nimbin in a day. If you have time to relax and unwind, you can do it over two days, and enjoy the restaurants and cafes. I have local knowledge. There are lookouts with spectacular views. Here there's unusual fruit trees, a trampoline, and a basketball court if you want to shoot a few hoops, weights equipment, and a martial arts dojo if you are curious about learning some self defence.
There's a flat parking area for RV's and tents. It's a relatively small space - not an acre of grass. So it's a semi social area, and it's possible to interact and relax in the undercover area.
There's a fire place at night, and a Babakiuaera where you can get Wifi and play cards.
I'm a qualified driving instructor, so i know about vehicles and safe driving practices.
some folks love it here and come back. It's a relatively small space, not suitable for everyone.

Wife and I decided on a quick overnight camping trip saw this place and it look great when we arrive meet by a great host gave us all the info we needed and then taken to our spot which was great we set up have a swim in the river which was refreshing in the flowing water the camp kitchen. Was great and a common area that was huge showers/toilets were clean all in all a great spot . Only down side was the trains that came thru at nite not a big deal to us

Camping at Oakey Ridge was a peaceful place for a quick weekend getaway.
The Host Greg was very accommodating and helpful. On arrival he took us on a guided tour around his property and let us choose a camping spot that would suit us for the night.
The property is just stunning, the photos don't do it justice, beautiful views that make it feel like you're inside a postcard.
The sites are spaced well apart from eachother and are a generous size.
I think I'll be returning to this place in the future.

Great place for dogs. bush camp but good facilities. Host very friendly advised the best place to park. Bush walks and a great dam with Kayaks and sun shelter. Will definitely go there again. Dogs can be off leash as long as they are under the effective control of there owners.

What a wonderful hilly spot ! you could choose to camp high up or low down or under a tree
they clevelry have built shelters ( rof structure ) so if you passsing in rain or extreme heat you have a place to hide.
We def be back the stars at night , the views and location where just wonderful so much space
i camped with my 11 year old girls , felt safe . We also able to find a space just for us was tops ! we mountain biked, adventured and swam in the lake was a hoot.
we enjoyed fabulous milkshakes and hot chips at the coffee van - run by a lovely most charamatic lady (whose name i have tragically forgotten) who gave me a lovely tip on a creek to swim at on our way home called cedar creek what a great spot to go for a dip on your way home ( when you leave misty mountain heading back toward the coast drive 10 min theres a sign saying byrill creek / cedar creek turn left then follow th road then follow the road right along the river the boulders and swimming holes where just gorgous . but back to review of misty creek hell yeah we will be back !

It was a wonderful stay. We really felt the beauty of nature as we swam in the river, lay on the grass and took naps, and gazed at the starry sky at night. We also saw lots of cute birds. The kitchen and living room were clean, open, and charming. We were able to detox from the digital world, and every day was very fulfilling. Thanks :)

We were only planning on staying a couple of nights but due to circumstances beyond our control ended up being here five nights. The location is fabulous, close to so many shops, there are choices of pools, the amenities are very well maintained. It’s quiet considering the volume of patrons. We stayed in a motor home site then a cabin. We swam, we used the BBQ’s, we ate in the bistro, used the laundry all of which were great but the outstanding thing for us was the staff- particularly reception. They accommodated our tricky situation with ease and we appreciated it immensely. Thank you very much.

We had the best time staying here despite changes in our plans due to the weather, the local stores and restaurants are great and despite only briefly being able to explore the railway trail in break of rain we had a blast. The cabin itself is set up amazingly and they have done an amazing job of planting different vegetation and making the property feel like a magical spot. 5/5 ⭐
My only feedback is the tubs for kitchen storage would be a little easier to use if they their contents were labelled on the tub but that's my only piece of constructive feedback for the place.
