If you want to go for a hike there are permanent springs and running creeks where you can cool off. Big skies that are great for stargazing and abundant birdlife in a peaceful setting provide a backdrop for your next getaway. Cattle graze the property with the occasional donkey guarding the herd as we don't kill our dingoes. There is prolific bird life and 7 types of wallabies and kangaroos as well as other wildlife in several ecosystems. The property is located about 3 hours from Cairns or 1 hour from Cooktown on sealed road. Once you turn off the highway, access is 4.5kms on dirt road. The town of Lakeland is just 8kms away where you can visit for a supermarket, two roadhouses, two cafes and a post office.

Surrounded by 40,000 acres of world heritage rainforest, 15 minutes outside the village of Kuranda, you will camp next to the mighty Barron River. This place is totally private and you have access to a sandy beach where swimming is safe and completely secluded. It's a great place for kayaking and stand up paddle boarding. There is a 360 degree view from the property, with nothing made by man in the way. When we purchased this property 37 years ago and built our unique home, it was denuded cattle land, and now we are surrounded by the most beautiful rainforest. We planted approximately 8000 trees.! We have 4 sites available all close to the river, and can provide water as well as access to our toilet. We are agile wallaby carers, with the rescued joeys being released back into the forest from here. After a day of kayaking or hiking or exploring the area we also offer a sunset massage (as available ) by a local masseuse who lives on the property. Watch the stars in the night sky at your own campfire.

Camping on a private cattle farm 7km north of Mossman at Miallo, between Daintree and Port Douglas. The property is located at the end of a road with no through traffic, its a quiet spot amongst exotic fruit trees and large lawns. A birdwatchers paradise! Plenty of flat grass areas to setup camp. A crystal clear creek runs through the property and there are stunning mountain views with waterfalls. Enjoy a campfire or sit back and enjoy the native wildlife and cattle grazing in the paddock. Firewood is available to purchase on request. There is a toilet and a shower on-site (only one shower though for all campers so get in quick), campers must be self contained and leave no trace. We are 10 min north of the famous Mossman gorge and Port Douglas is just 25 minutes South East, "where the rainforest meets the reef". There is a variety of restaurants and bars, not to mention fantastic boutique shopping. Just a short drive away you can explore the World Heritage-Listed Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation with an abundance of tours and day trips available. All sites accommodate 1 (one) vehicle and 1 (one) RV, motor home, caravan, campervan, camper trailer or tent per site.

Yindilli Camping and Guided Walks

Yindilli Camping Ground is set amongst some of the most beautiful open eucalypt forests and rainforests of north Queensland and is located on the CREB Track, a popular 4WD tourist route. Nearby is the iconic Roaring Meg Falls. The track is not suitable for towing caravans. The campsites have access to a freshwater creek for swimming and relaxing. The birdlife is abundant, including the occasional glimpse of a Cassowary. Camp sites are on 2.5ha of lush green lawns, lots of shade and within metres of a fresh water creek for swimming and relaxing. Facilities include: toilets, showers, dry firewood (on request), spacious sites Children and pet friendly. Guests are advised to only light fires in designated areas and these must be fully extinguished before departure.

Enjoy all this beautiful region has to offer including rainforest walks, beautiful beaches, stunning waterfalls, crocodile spotting, fishing, snorkeling on the Great Barrier reef and plenty of 4WD tracks to explore. We are within easy reach of Daintree Discovery Centre and the Daintree River Cruises. There is so much to see and do in the area that you will never be bored. Campfires are welcome in the fire pit provided, there is plenty of firewood too. We have a pit toilet available for campers to use. Pets are welcome.
