Safety is our highest priority. The recent addition of our feature windmill makes for gorgeous photos and country feels. The campsite is bordered by seasonal crops. We also have Cattle that rotate through different paddocks on the property, depending on feed and crop cycles. (Not all guests will have cattle about sorry kiddies!) **Pets welcome, but to remain under STRICT supervision. Not to chase cattle or wildlife. ** Our property is also home to the local remote controlled airplane club. Guests will be able to see them fly around of a weekend. You can watch from the campsite but we ask not to walk through the paddocks or approach the club. During weekday stays (and some weekends) you will have the pleasure to see fighter aircraft, KC-30s and the impressive C17 Globemasters doing some low flying and pass overs as we are just on the edge of the Amberley RAAF Base circuit area. Property is close to lots of walking tracks and mountains to hike in the area and we are only 5ish mins drive from the town centres of Glass House Mountains and Beerwah. We are surrounded by pineapple farms and honest boxes of limes, pineapples and avocados are spotted along the nearby streets. Our little hobby farm is perfect for a city break! Wake up to the sound of chirping birds and wallabies passing through. There is an old macadamia orchid and we are currently in the process of building a new chicken coop, so will hopefully have hens and eggs soon! Numerous damns and creeks run through the property but they have not been cleared of weeds for swimming. Clyde is our resident horse who will likely come visit you at your campsite. He is the sweetest boy and loves nothing more than a carrot and a gentle pat. He is an old boy now so not suited for riding but is a wonderful companion! There are no facilities here so all campers will need to be self sufficient with a camping toilet. It is preferred that campers bring their own water but bore water can be supplied if you run out (not the ideal for drinking). I live in the main house so am available for any emergencies but will give you your privacy! Dogs are welcome as long as they do not chase off the wildlife and are calm around the horse. I have a dog at the house so must also be dog friendly or else kept on lead! Campfires are allowed in designated fire pit dependant on fire rating.

Lovely green property down by the creek. Well maintained toilets with toilet paper included. We usually go to private camping spots but this was a last minute booking, we were lucky to have respectful campers amongst us as u are quite close together. Loved that we could take our dog and have him off lead. Well maintained grass, no mosquitoes, barely any flies, perfect summer camping spots with a fire pit. The host Tony was lovely, opening gates, great communication, always available if needed. Local town 20mins away if u need groceries, a chemist or coffee. We took our ford ranger and jayco lark (both with off road features) and managed to get up and down the track fine, but if there had been a heavy shower it would have been challenging.

We loved camping here, the site was well maintained right beside the creek. Access was easy to the creek and perfect depth for lounging in the shallows with multiple deep swimming holes. Had the site to ourselves, so our dogs loved running free, the only visitors were the friendly cows. Would definitely recommend this site, we are already arranging a return trip. Perfect for this hot weather!

Our bub absolutely loved his first time camping and the bush walks around the area. Bribie Island was just a short drive away and we had a beautiful day trip there. We would definitely camp here again!

Without a doubt, I’ll be going back! The Train Station was such a phenomenal spot. A good sized flat clearing tucked high above the world with the most spectacular views. The track to the site was super fun and a little more challenging than expected! A capable 4WD is a must as there are a few rocky step ups. No, your AWD Tesla will not make it. You pass signs to other sites but you can’t see or hear them at all, you feel totally separated from the world! Book the trip, you will not regret it!! 🙌🏼

Gold Coast Hinterland

A world away from the beaches and glitzy high rises of the Gold Coast, the lush hinterland is the green behind the gold. Lace up your hiking boots and hit the bushwalking trails in the World Heritage-listed rainforest of Lamington National Park and Tamborine Mountain.

The Scenic Rim

The mountainous backdrop to Brisbane is a largely untouched swathe of bushland and rainforest that belies the notion that a bustling metropolis is just a stone's throw away. A short drive through Mount Nebo and Mount Glorious along the Northbrook Parkway to the country towns of Kilcoy and Woodford takes you into a rugged wilderness with state forest and national park camping sites.

North Stradbroke Island

Moreton Island

The Brisbane River empties into the sea in Moreton Bay, a short ferry ride from the Brisbane CBD. When to go

It's warm enough for short sleeves and swimming almost all year in Brisbane, although the mountain ranges tend to be a little cooler than the coast. Summer can be wet and stormy, and it rains a lot in the rainforest, so bring wet weather gear. Straddie is a popular spot with locals, so you'll need to book ahead during summer holidays.

Know before you go

If you’re towing a caravan or driving a large motorhome, be aware that some of the steep, narrow roads around Nerang and Canungra and in Lamington National Park are unsuitable for larger trailers.
All roads on Moreton Island are 4WD only, and all vehicles must have an access permit obtained from the state government.
Check the tide charts before driving on the beaches of North Stradbroke or Moreton Island, as the road tends to disappear as the tide rises.
Stradbroke Island ferries depart from Cleveland, while Moreton Island ferries leave from the Port of Brisbane.
