Recently our guests enjoyed a trip to Fraser Island and were very impressed with the service provided. So if you love your fur baby and you still want to have a holiday experience, just come and stay here and we can enhance your stay by giving your fur babies a holiday too. You may be moved to a different site if your chosen site is too wet. We use Good Riddance products for the midges & mozzies during summer because it works, its non toxic + deet free. Absolutely beautiful ❤️ just the most private camp site the paddock site was. We felt very safe. It was clear land to set up a tent and great fire pit. Toilet was a bonus. Kids had a ball running around being loud and loads of walks around collecting fire wood. The goats are beautiful and after arranging with Marion the kids got to pat the goats. Easy access to campsite via my Honda Jazz. A good easy drive into Bundaberg 45 minutes. Jason and Marion are beautiful hosts and genuine people.Would definitely recommend.

Weekend Trip to Mon Repos Pines

An excellent spot to spend a few days, Mon Repos Pines is perfectly placed to explore the area. The 4 sites are all situated along the southern fence line of a large field adjacent to the owners’ property, very quiet and just a few steps from the walk/cycle track which follows the coastline from Burnett Heads in the north to just beyond Bargara in the south. The beach close by is virtually covered by black rocks but there is a sandy strip which can be used to access the water when the tide is low (high tide covers this strip). The 4 sites are spaced out next to each other but there is not a lot of room in between each site so when they are all occupied everyone could be quite close. They only take up a small length of the fence line so it would be great if there could be more space between sites, but maybe the council does not allow this. Site 1 is nearest the pathway but is not quite as level as the other sites. We would certainly recommend this camp site to other travellers.

Great location and only a short drive to the beach. The camp itself is pretty simple but it’s what we expected when we booked. I would say to avoid this site if you have a low clearance 2WD as we struggled a little bit to get out with our campervan. Overall we would stay again purely for the location 😊

Our family loved our four nights at this campsite. We were on site 1 and were on our own for the duration of our stay. The location is amazing; literally a 30m walk to the public footpath, and a few metres further to the ocean. There's a great sandy beach around 100m walk away, which is perfect for a high tide swim. The site itself is grassy and totally open, which is great for solar and gave the kids somewhere to safely run around. Karen was very friendly and greeted us on the afternoon we arrived, explaining some of the local attractions. We would definitely stay again when we are next in the area.

Nice being a single site, undercover area and ensuite is great as can leave stuff in the area. We were in a tent and that worked well. Nice fire area, easy to find wood. Pub not far if needed. Went off looking at Bundaberg and small places in the area. Easy to find, and shown what was there. Friendly dog came to visit. No internet service, which wasnt bad.

Wrinkles Bush Stay is a 10/10 must visit. It is the perfect blend of privacy with all the creature comforts you could need. Pull up your van and set up nothing because you have it all. A hot shower, toilet, fantastic patio with built in furniture including a bar overlooking the fire pit (which has flood lights) you have your own self contained area with a quant bush craft fence. You have a bit of bush walking to do which is great and there are giant gumtrees everywhere and firewood galore! I also found some great sticks to craft a couple walking poles and some smaller pieces that could make great spoons. I really enjoyed walking the property, I saw wallabies, a duck, a stallion and a mare, three bulls and three cows. I saw eagles and honey eaters I also saw black cockatoos flying in large flocks overhead in the afternoons which was a highlight. Really one of my favourite spots. I recommend staying here after camping off grid for a while to recharge. Couldn’t say one thing wrong about the place. Extended as long as I could. Thanks for having me.

7 nights at Peaceful Bush Camp-Wrinkles

This was our second time camping here for a week and it did not disappoint. It's so nice to have the whole space to yourself along with the covered area with power, toilet, hot shower and a great firepit from which we had many delightful meals. For those who enjoy wildlife spotting, I've seen over 55 species of birds on the property, wallabies, kangaroos, goanna, snakes and microbats, the horses and cattle are very friendly and enjoy a pat. Firewood is plentiful if you have a decent large toothed handsaw or chainsaw as it's very hard wood. Owners are also very friendly and communicative. Highly recommend staying here.

Where to go

Bundaberg Region

Just a 15-minute drive inland, Bundaberg is home to the famous Bundaberg Rum Distillery and Bundaberg Ginger Beer factory. After sampling the local beverages, enjoy canoeing or fishing along the Burnett River, go birdwatching around the wetlands of Bingera National Park, or explore the bushwalking trails of Elliott River State Forest.

Fraser Coast

South of Bargara, sandy beaches, fishing villages, and national parks tempt travellers to the Fraser Coast. Fraser Island is the star attraction, and there’s great beach camping in the Great Sandy National Park, but you can also set out along the Great Beach Drive (4WD only) from Rainbow Beach or take a whale-watching cruise from Hervey Bay.

Great Barrier Reef

Bargara is the gateway to the southern Great Barrier Reef, where you can snorkel and scuba dive around the islands and coral reefs. Fly out to Lady Elliott Island to snorkel amid manta rays, go whale-watching, or take a glass-bottom boat cruise. Or, for a bush camping experience, cruise to Lady Musgrave Island and pitch your tent at Capricornia Cays National Park.

When to go

The sun is always shining in southeast Queensland, so beach days are enjoyable year-round. Time your visit for November through March to watch loggerhead turtles nesting and hatching along Bargara’s beaches or from August through October to spot whales around Lady Elliot Island. Great Barrier Reef tours are possible year-round, but May to October is peak season.
