Andrew Drynan Park is situated on Running Creek, 47 km south of Beaudesert and 19 km from Rathdowney on the Lions Road. The drive from Brisbane will take a couple of hours. It has an impressive backdrop formed by Mt Chinghee. Running Creek is a lovely flowing creek which is very inviting in summer and the park offers a great bush camp. Toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and swimming. BYO drinking water. Pets to be restrained. No showers—a dip in the creek will keep you clean but please don’t use soap or detergent. Directions: At Rathdowney, turn left into Running Creek Rd and travel approximately 17km south east. Campers & Day Trippers Rules: The Park is for everyone to enjoy, so please adhere to a few simple guidelines while enjoying this beautiful park. By using this park you agree to the following rules. All vehicles entering the park must observe 10 Km per hour speed limit. Fires must be extinguished prior to departure. Park users must clean up their area when leaving, by taking all rubbish, including food scraps and disposable nappies with them, so the next users can enjoy the Park as well. Do not burn your rubbish. It must be taken with you! The disposal of nappies in the grass around the waterline, and in fire pits, is a serious risk to human health, the health of the creek, surrounding stock and the ecosystem! Please be respectful of other camper’s space & privacy! Do not set up on top of other campers. Generator use is restricted to 4 hours per day between the hours of 2pm to 6pm. Dogs must be on short leads and confined to your campsite at all times. No music or noise after 10pm, noise level must at all times be at an acceptable level so as not to disturb other users. No antisocial behavior. No camping on creek banks. No playing around toilet block area. No livestock to be kept on the park. No cutting down trees. No person to travel in the load area of vehicles. No motorcycles other than on the formed roads or when moving between your campsite and the road. No stock whips, firearms or weapons of any sort, chainsaws, drones or fireworks allowed in the park. No use of detergents, soaps or shampoos in creek. No washing dishes or clothing in creek. No hitting of Golf balls. No cricket with cricket ball (tennis ball ok). No swings to be tied to trees. Anyone who is non-compliant may be directed by park management to leave the park and if so must leave without delay. Non-compliance will be referred to local Police and you may face legal action for trespassing. Park management reserves the right to refuse anyone entry to and use of the park. We offer you a well located and secure camp-site to explore the North Coast or for that overnight stay while you are travelling to your destination and need a safe place to camp. Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. During your stay you can just kick back and relax overlooking the farm which produces beef cattle and fingerlimes, but with the convenient distance to towns and beaches, you can also use it as a base to very easily explore all the region has to offer: Byron Bay and Bangalow (15 mins), Brunswick Heads (10 mins), and Mullumbimby (6 mins), all offering great dining, local market, and retail experiences. the area has a plethora of activities to pursue: swimming, walking, fishing, great surfing, sea kayaking, ballooning, skydiving, horseriding, golf (eg renowned Ocean Shores golf club is 20 minutes away), and the wonderful rail trail for bikers or walkers can be accessed at Mooball, a picturesque 20 min drive away or try out the new mountain bike trail at the vey pretty township of Uki in the hinterland. This expansive 600 acre farm is a place of joy, sharing and rare beauty! Over one kilometre of "Rocky Creek" runs through the Pecan Fields camp area, providing gorgeous waterholes for swimming, walks and great water front sites to set up camp for the weekend! You can even see Platypus in the early mornings, playing in the creek. All of the camp areas are easily access-able and flat, usually 2wd car is all you need. We also provide you with creature comforts such as a cold/ hot shower and fresh pit toilets :) When booking, only book 1 site per group, as the sites are large. You will feel like you are immersed in the beauty of nature here and yet you are only 6 minutes easy drive from the village of Dunoon, NSW 2480 and 45 minutes beautiful country drive from glorious Byron Bay beaches and it's very exciting night life! On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp. Sorry, we can't cater for dogs due to camp being a native animal sanctuary. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub or Channon Tavern, then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

Our campground is on my family’s dairy farm that has been in the family since 1904. I’m the 4th generation on the farm and work alongside my parents and my husband operating the family business of milking cows. The campsite is on a private area of flat ground right beside the Oxley River with views of Mt Warning. We are excited to share our piece of paradise with others. We DO have a composting toilet but DON’T have any shower facilities. Although the creek is very close by we advise you bring your own drinking water. We are pleased to provide a gravelled campfire area along with a gorgeous outdoor setting that seats 8. Our campground provides a unique private camping opportunity. Once you book whether it is for a group of one or 25 no one else can book the site. The site is not visible from the road. Our property is an easy walking distance to the local village where you will find the shop/ general store and the pub is dog friendly. It's around 1km to The Channon Craft Market grounds, and the markets are on the second Sunday of each month. Lots of crafts, clothes, jewellery, gifts, food stalls and entertainers to see and enjoy. This campsite is located right on the banks of the flowing creek. It's a private site with access to two good swimming holes. Enjoy warming your feet around the campfire in the evenings, subject to fireban conditions. We welcome only self-contained campers who bring their own camping shower and drinking water. There is access to rubbish facilities. For those wanting to explore a bit further we are 15kms from Nightcap National Park and the beautiful Protesters Falls. There is a walking track that leads through lush World Heritage rainforest right up to the falls. Well behaved pets are welcome. No hunters.

Our four campsites are spacious and are freshly mown flat grassed sites. Each campsite has 1 or 2 stone circles for campfires, with free kindling and free firewood supplied to all campsites. Whether you are a single traveller, a couple, family or group booking we have the campsite for you. We are family friendly and dog friendly. Dungarubba Fields is a private, rural setting on six acres on Bundjalung country. Four of our camp sites are situated across a small bridge in the back paddock, and one camp site is situated just before the bridge for those self driving campervans with a wider wheel-base. The paddock was once cleared and in recent years we have planted and cared for over 100 new Koala and rainforest trees. After the Northern Rivers floods of 2022 we are now continuing the bush regeneration beside the Dungarubba wetland which borders our property. Our camp-sites offer shade, space, wildlife and birdlife. Campfires are allowed 12 months a year depending on fire ratings and local conditions except on days of Total Fire Ban and the preceding evening going into a Total Fire Ban. We supply the free firewood to each campsite as we understand how important the campfire is to the camping experience. Outside the fire season we can supply a readymade Bonfire at an additional cost to your booking. Hipcampers can access fresh drinking water (rainwater) from our rainwater tanks, with an accessible tap near our home. Hipcampers have access to a downstairs flushing toilet at the house. We offer a Portaloo for larger group bookings situated beside your camp site as an optional extra for an additional cost. The Portaloo needs to be booked when you make your booking. The house on the property was originally built in 1903 as the Catholic Church of the nearby locality Riley's Hill. In the 1940’s it was moved to the current site after low attendance by parishioners who didn’t want to have to row across the Richmond River and get their feet wet to attend Mass. The church sold the building in the 1980’s and it was raised off the ground with two new wings attached on either side to become a private residence. The sugar cane and soybeans, however more surrounding land is being planted to Macadamia nuts which will change the look of the landscape in future. During May to November of an evening, you can look out for the occasional cane fire which is a historic part of the harvesting of sugar. The Richmond River and boat ramp is a short 2 minutes drive for both fishing and water skiing. The Broadwater National Park with sand-dunes and a fishing beach is only a 10 minute drive away. The Pacific Highway is 7 minutes drive away. The beautiful coastal village of Evans Head with shops, a medical clinic and a patrolled beach is just a 15 minutes drive. The nearest townships are Broadwater (2 fuel stations and a pub under new management), Coraki (junction of 2 rivers), Woodburn (pub with a bistro and a laundrette) and Evans Head (a township with most services). We are a 45 minutes drive to Byron Bay and 25 minutes to the coastal city of Ballina up the Pacific Highway or 25 minutes drive inland to the city of Lismore. We welcome friendly dogs and there is plenty of space for them to run around and chase balls or other dogs. Our dog Stella is a 4 year old Blue Heeler, who greets people from the balcony barking as you drive in. Don’t let the barking fool you as she loves visitors and their dogs. We expect owners to be responsible for their dogs and in particularly when there are Koalas close by. We ask dogs not to roam at night as Koalas are nocturnal (and so are other critters) and night-time is when they choose their food tree for the next day and roam around. Near all the Byron incredible activities, such as great restaurants, waterfalls, beaches. Well positioned between the beaches of Byron Bay and Brunswick Heads. Incredible privacy and quiet. There are goats (with babies) in a paddock next to Site 2, and a horse paddock with 6 horses. We do have a water tap though to fill your tanks and a couple of electric plugs to charge your essentials (check the small old shed close to Site 1). We have 6 different sites for caravan and RVs/ tents. It is a former cattle farm that is being currently reforested to the original Big Scrub rainforest. The proceeds from Hipcamp are used to reforest the land. PLEASE make sure to take your garbage away and remember the campsites are for fully contained campers only (no toilets on site). You NEED to be fully contained to stay in the property. You can enjoy walking around and explore the magic sunsets of the Byron Hinterland. There are a few billabong/ creeks and a mowed nature walk path.

Hi, an update: please note that due to roadworks in Mullumbimby, the Council is diverting southbound traffic out of that town along Myocum Rd, thus there will be increased traffic at commute times. Your campsite is on a grassy knoll of Myocum Farm with sweeping views of farmland and the Byron lighthouse in the distance. You will be the sole visitors and thus have all the space and amenities to yourself. Your onsite amenities include: a firepit with benches and table, bbq plates, free kindling, firewood available to buy, a hot private outdoor shower, your own flushing toilet, a tap and handsoap, a bucket and hose, bins for recycling and rubbish, a swing, and a small cubbyhut with board games and a bocce and cricket set. Please note our rates are very competitive and cover 3 visitors in our base rate. During your stay you can just kick back and relax overlooking the farm which produces beef cattle and fingerlimes, but with the convenient distance to towns and beaches, you can also use it as a base to very easily explore all the region has to offer: Byron Bay and Bangalow (15 mins), Brunswick Heads (10 mins), and Mullumbimby (6 mins), all offering great dining, local market, and retail experiences. the area has a plethora of activities to pursue: swimming, walking, fishing, great surfing, sea kayaking, ballooning, skydiving, horseriding, golf (eg renowned Ocean Shores golf club is 20 minutes away), and the wonderful rail trail for bikers or walkers can be accessed at Mooball, a picturesque 20 min drive away or try out the new mountain bike trail at the vey pretty township of Uki in the hinterland. Beautiful waterfalls are less than a half hour drive away. There are local businesses who can help you pursue these kinds of activities if you don't bring your own equipment.

Over one kilometre of "Rocky Creek" runs through the Pecan Fields camp area, providing gorgeous waterholes for swimming, walks and great water front sites to set up camp for the weekend! You can even see Platypus in the early mornings, playing in the creek. All of the camp areas are easily access-able and flat, usually 2wd car is all you need. We also provide you with creature comforts such as a cold/ hot shower and fresh pit toilets :) When booking, only book 1 site per group, as the sites are large. You will feel like you are immersed in the beauty of nature here and yet you are only 6 minutes easy drive from the village of Dunoon, NSW 2480 and 45 minutes beautiful country drive from glorious Byron Bay beaches and it's very exciting night life! On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp. Sorry, we can't cater for dogs due to camp being a native animal sanctuary. Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical. There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub or Channon Tavern, then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

I’m the 4th generation on the farm and work alongside my parents and my husband operating the family business of milking cows. The campsite is on a private area of flat ground right beside the Oxley River with views of Mt Warning. We are excited to share our piece of paradise with others. We DO have a composting toilet but DON’T have any shower facilities. Although the creek is very close by we advise you bring your own drinking water. We are pleased to provide a gravelled campfire area along with a gorgeous outdoor setting that seats 8. Our campground provides a unique private camping opportunity. Once you book whether it is for a group of one or 25 no one else can book the site. The site is not visible from the road. This campsite is located right on the banks of the flowing creek. It's a private site with access to two good swimming holes. We decided to go to Christmas Creek bush retreat for our very first Caravan trip. My husband and I with our dog absolutely loved it. The sites were spacious with lots of room, not over crowded, and all sites face the beautiful Creek that is full of turtles, and has platypus (we didn't see them). We liked that it was off grid with no water or power as we wanted to try out our van to see how everything worked, and it was great. I would recommend this site if you want some peace and quiet. The whole site is so well maintained by the owners who live close by and it's an easy 40 minute drive from Beaudesert.

One of the most beautiful locations we visited on our trip. The views are amazing. You choose where you want to camp - we set up on campsite No. 2 and were the only ones around. Picked up some firewood at the entrance and roasted some marshmallows as the sun set. The compost toilet at this site was a little rough around the edges but there are flushing toilets at the central area.

Weekend Trip to Warning View Campground
Second time back and it won’t be outlast. We Love this quiet and private camp to just sit and listen and de-stress. The sound of the running water, occasional cows mooing, birds calling, the rustle of the goannas through the underbrush, and the breezes in the trees are enough of a soundtrack for us to enjoy. Spotted eels and catfish amongst the small and abundant native fish & shrimp in the crystal clear waters of the swimming hole this time. Easy access and plenty of level spots to park up our caravan and our friend campervan along with the convenience of an onsite toilet makes this site a real gem. Can’t wait to come back soon!

I enjoyed that you could walk to town,and the creek for a nice dip. Not over crowded, well maintained camp area. Facilities were clean and modern, very peaceful, other campers were respectful and friendly. Only drawn back was I only had one day to enjoy, definitely will be back for a longer stay.

Weekend Trip to The Sleepy Hollow Manor Estate
We loved our stay at Sleepy Hollow Manor! The property is incredibly peaceful, and waking up to cows grazing right outside the van was such a cool experience. The location is perfect too, so close to Pottsville Beach and an easy drive to Byron. We had an unexpected issue with our van and had to leave it on the property while waiting for a tow truck. Tom was amazingly accommodating the whole time, with great communication and a genuinely helpful attitude. Couldn’t recommend this spot more. We’ll definitely be back! 🌿🚐🐄

CAMPSITE The campsite is situated on the communal grounds at the heart of Zaytuna Farm Eco Hamlet on flat lawn surrounded by bamboo and the sounds of the rainforest. We also have 10 raised camping shelters on offer, suitable for small tents for 1-2 people. Campers have close access to bathrooms built from eco-friendly shipping containers with composting toilets and warm showers; a fire pit, a kitchen garden to share from, an education/function center (available for hire), a common sheltered area to relax with wifi, and an equipped shared kitchen. If you want the best sushi in the area then stop at the popular Doma Cafe next to the general store in Federal, you will want to visit more than once after your taste buds have been awakened. Byron bay is a 15-20 min drive on a scenic drive, or visit the biggest little town in Australia Mullumbimby a 15-18 min drive. Bangalow and Lennox heads, Lovely beaches at Brunswick Heads or Ocean Shores are all within 35 min drive the choice is yours. Magical Minyon Falls with its powerful and wonderful waterfalls and uninhabited valley is a must. Don't forget to go bushwalking while you are there. There are also other national parks like mount Jerusalem that are close by. The farm does have orchards and bee hives. Slashing and planting of vegetables will be happening soon everything is organic. If you would like to purchase some organic farm jam just let me know. The stone wall entrance was constructed at the turn of last century and you feel like you have stepped back in time as you imagine those who came across the area as they were amazed at what the area had to offer. Remember it is the Australian bush so there could be snakes just. as there is with all bush in Australia about depending on the time of the year. There is a first aid kit on the property. The local hospital is in Byron 15 minute drive away. A toilet is completed. We have had a celebrity stay for a weekend so you never know who you will see. There are celebrities that live in Federal so you may bump into one. Please do not show up to the property or surrounding areas without placing a booking and receiving directions. If you arrive without placing a booking, you will be turned away. Please use the directions sent to you after placing a booking to stay at this property. If you arrive on a Saturday, as it is the busiest of days for us, the times for meeting is 6pm. Every other day is flexible with time for meeting.
