Weekend Trip to Misty Valley Glamping

This site has been put together perfectly by Jodie and Caz. From a cozy comfy glamping tent that is made to feel like a room to the fire pit that had unlimited wood to keep us warm all weekend. Can’t recommend this destination enough it’s truely perfect! It has everything you need.

Weekend Trip to Riverside Rest

A beautiful location by the river. So very peaceful and relaxing. Saw the vans crammed in at the caravan parks in town and were so grateful to make the short drive out to Riverside Rest with heaps of space. Birds to watch, the occasional boat going by and we could even hear a pod of dolphins at night, who seemed to be excited by my husband playing the ukelele! The cows in the next field were friendly and curious when we arrived. A mob of kangaroos hopped around nearby. Site 4 was perfect for us to drive through with our small off road 5th wheeler.

Weekend Trip to River Views - Island Paradise

Really stoked with Squiggle’s land!! Absolutely stunning river views with all the amenities you could need for camping. Squiggles himself is such a gem. He came and offered to help us set up, delivered freshly cut firewood to the site and even gifted us a filleted Tailor he caught that morning! Unreal. Would love to stay there again and highly recommend to anyone. Thanks Squiggles!

3 nights at Misty Valley Glamping

Such a beautiful stay. I booked this off grid getaway for my mum and she had the most amazing time. Warm, cosy, and had everything she needed. The hosts were incredibly friendly and made her feel so welcome. She even got to feed the cows and enjoy a drive in the polaris around their stunning property, which she absolutely loved. One of the highlights was using their outdoor pizza oven—the hosts came up to help get it going so she could make pizzas for dinner. The driveway was easy to access, even in her little Corolla. It was the perfect peaceful retreat and a really special experience. Highly recommend their genuine country hospitality.

1 night at State Forest, Ocean Views

This is one of the best camp sites we have stayed at! Ray keeps the site well maintained. The toilet and undercover area with the table was awesome to have. The views were beautiful and was very private and peaceful. We would have stayed longer if we could. Would be great for families as well, as you have lots of space. Will be back again next time we are down that way!

This is one of the nicest spots I’ve stayed, I here’s plenty to do and the fishing is great. I got there late at night and setup my tent and woke up to finches and birds everywhere. Squiggles is a legend and does a great job to keep the place beautiful and you can buy wood from him and trust me it’s far better than servo wood and cheaper too. Just all round the place is great, I stayed for 5 nights and had a great time. Would recommend fully.

Beautiful property. Plenty of space and clear directions provided. Close to freeway for convenience but far enough away for a good nights sleep. Definately recommend 👌

Beautiful location with the Clarence River at your door step. A really intimate camp site with only four sites available and well spread apart. Need to be self contained.

Really liked the secluded location right next to the river. We were able to fish and caught so many catfish! If you stay at Site 4, make sure you don't park the car right next to the river bank, pass the camp firepit. The tide comes up high onto the grass but just touches the fire pit so our fire was fine. Camp sites were a bit close to each other but overall nice experience. 👍

Great time making our camp oven roast, patting the animals and roaring marshmallows by the fire. Really easy communication with our hosts and extra firewood provided when we needed it :) would recommend!

2 nights at Oasis of Hope

Our time at Oasis of Hope was wonderful, it is a spectacularly beautiful location, the facilities there were excellent, showers, a kettle, toaster and full laundry. Brett who was on site was excellent, he was helpful, had useful info on the local sites and could not do enough to help us. It was an excellent experience and base to explore the area.

Loved camping here. The host was kind and let us camp aside the lake which was so peaceful. Really friendly hosts and good amenities. Of course the biggest bonus all the animals were so friendly and loved a good pat

Each site has a fire pit, and if you burn through your wood supply faster than a pollie breaks a promise, we can sort you out with more for a small fee. Now, for a bit of housekeeping. Let's be clear, we're not the Hilton. In fact, we don't provide any amenities at all. Think of us as a safe, private space that feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, because you pretty much are. You'll need to come fully self-sufficient. That means bring everything in, and please, take all your waste back out with you. Leave only footprints and good memories. The agenda? Well, that’s up to you. Plonk yourself in a chair with a good book, go for a gentle wander around the farm, or chuck on your boots and tackle a proper bushwalk through our 70 acres of trails. Don't panic about dinner. The pub in Glenreagh (5 mins down the road) does a top-notch feed, and you’ll also find a bakery and takeaway there. Nana Glen (10 mins the other way) has you covered with a cafe, chemist, servo, and a general store for all your bits and bobs. There’s no phone or Wi-Fi. Consider it a feature, not a bug. It’s the perfect excuse to ignore your emails.

The campsites are situated right on the bank of the mighty Clarence River, perfectly suited for campers who enjoy the peace and quiet. Please note: Our sites are available for booking up to 3 months in advance. Our property is inhabited by a few cattle and kangaroos and on occasions a couple of visiting brolgas. The private boat ramp is accessible at the main house which is about 100 metres from your campsite. You are welcome to make use of our canoe or kayak which are kept up at the main house. Pets are welcome but must be kept under control. Campfires are allowed permitting there are no restrictions in place. Each campsite has it's own firepit surround in which to light your camp fire. Firewood is available for purchase. Campers must bring their own toilet and be fully self sufficient. Leave the site as you found it and take all waste with you on departure. The campsite is accessible by 2WD and can accommodate caravans, campervans and camper trailers. The sites are generally level and grassy.

We run an organic cattle property and have found a few spots around our farm to share with campers and glampers. Our campsites are "Beyond the Bridge" and "Old Flat Camp". Both are on cattle paddocks and have private access to Hydes Creek. Hydes Creek is a murky sandy base creek. There's lots of logs so its not recommend to jump in, but it's beautiful to cool off in the creek on a hot day. Both campsites have access to our compost toilet, and open air outdoor camping shower (gas hot water). If you prefer a bit more comfort or don't have your own camping gear, you can escape the hustle and enjoy being perched up on one of the highest points on the farm (with incredible views), in our Farm Huts. Both the Hut and the Tent are furnished with beds and linen but have no power. The camp is located on 100 acres of unique grasstree forest in Taloumbi, NSW. We are just 10 minutes off the Pacific Highway, between Maclean and Brooms Head. The camp is currently set up for private use for one booking, where the guest booking can park at the covered deck space and have use of the deck, shower and toilet for just themselves. The deck is a great spot to enjoy the rising sun, yoga and meditation. Hooks are attached to the post for hammocks, so please relax and enjoy your time at Groundswell. Groups are welcome.Please contact the host for group bookings. This could be organized where the deck area is a communal space and the shower and toilet are shared by the group. All campsites are flat and some cleared play spaces available for kicking balls, games, frisbee, etc. There is a sink with filtered rain water on the deck, an instant gas hot water shower behind the main deck and also a compost toilet. There is a small solar power set up to run the sink and shower pump. The site in OFF-GRID on tank water only, so it is important to be mindful of water use and make sure taps are off when not in use. In consideration of future guest do not wash your motor home or caravan with the tank water, or refill your tanks as this site is rainwater only. Bring your own cooker, lights and chairs. Pets are welcome, but must be on a leash if guest are away or if they are a threat to wildlife. There are families of kangaroos, wallabies and endangered coastal emu’s that we love and would like to keep safe. We are very lucky to have the emus here and provide information as citizen scientist to those researching them. If you fancy spotlighting in the evening, you may see sugar gliders, micro bats, possums, bandicoots, and owls on the prowl. There is a small orchard next to the camp site and you can help yourself to any ripe fruits. We continue to work on permaculture projects and improve the sites design with a good vision for the future of the Groundswell Project. You can swim in the dam when full. Enjoy a meditation or sunset drink over looking the dam and admiring the wildlife that also use the watering hole. Fires are allowed, except during total fire bans, in the contained pits only and put out at night. There is plenty of firewood to collect on site. Mosquitos come and go depending on weather or season. It is good to be prepared with coils, nets on your bed or sprays just in case. Access the camp at the front gate (address provided at booking) and follow the sign to the Hipcamp. Access is 2wd accessible and good for caravans, or larger RV’s etc. The Spa at Groundswell is now open at the owners home. Please contact the host for massage and magnesium bath menu. Limited times available. We are currently working on a network of trails inside of the 100 acres. Until complete, parts of the perimeter of the property are cleared and can be walked from Grasstree Drive to Wallaby Lane. There is a "TRAIL" sign at the start of the trail behind the orchard. Please take all of your rubbish and recycling. There is a waste station in Townsend on the way back to the highway or at the Yuraygir National Park if staying there after us. Phone service is best with Telstra. Our nearest beaches are also just 5-10 minutes at the Yuraygir National Park, Lake Aragon/ Redcliff Campground entrance and the beautiful quiet beach town of Brooms Head. Brooms Head has a general store and a snack shack with great snacks, coffee and convenient essentials. Dogs are not allowed in the national park, but there is a dog beach north from the Lake Cakora bridge in Brooms Head and also back beach in Brooms Head, south of the headland. Fishing, boating, spear fishing, surfing, diving, snorkeling, kayaking, kite surfing, motor bike trails (Candole State Forest), coastal walks, beach walks, etc. The Yuraygir coastal walk spans 65 km’s from Angourie in Yamba, to Red Rock. For a one night camp on the trailing walking north, you can camp and the pristine beaches at Shelley’s. And if leaving from Lake Aragon or Brooms Head, the next camp south is at The Sandon. Yamba and Angourie are 30 minutes drive via the backroad from Townsend. Yamba also has great surfing beaches, plenty of café options, shopping, a lighthouse, breakwall walk and fishing.

A truly unique camping experience overlooking the wide spanse of the Clarence only a short distance from the small village of Copmanhurst, perfect for a group booking of up to 20. Enjoy your own private site with a sandy beach @40m below site, east of the Copmanhurst boat ramp. Take a walk down the steepish soft sandy cattle tracks to the waters edge and enjoy yourself. Note: Sand can be very hot! Obedient dogs permitted and that they are on a lead or under control with livestock or cattle dogs around. No amenities so campers need to BYO everything they need and leave no trace. Campfires permitted when restrictions aren't in place - check with host.
