During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. There are also some beautiful swimming spots and walks to discover in the region, as well as good facilities in town, including the local swimming pool and shopping centre. A scenic drive following the Murrumbidgee and Tumut Rivers can be taken as an alternative route to Tumut or Gundagai. The site can be used as a base camp for fishing, wineries, bushwalking, and ski fields.

Friendly, well-controlled pets are welcome, as long as they don’t disturb other campers. Please be mindful that cattle and sheep may be grazing nearby.
Children must be supervised at all times, as the river can be fast-moving and become deep quickly. There may also be snakes in the area from time to time.

Kick back and listen to the quiet around you, enjoy the sounds of the birds and farm animals. "The Orchard" is a beautiful peaceful 5 minute walk down a gravel road with big trees to our Cidery where you can taste and take back to camp some of our cider or sit and have a drink while watching the animals being fed. Maybe book a tour where Tony will show you how we make our cider from the orchard to the bottle and Lorene will show you the amazing animals. You can always jump on your bike and head out on one of the many tracks in the area.
You will need to be self sufficient and have your own toilet, water etc. There is no power in The Orchard. Due to people using the orchard as a toilet we are now no longer taking people tenting. You MUST be self sufficient.
Head in Batlow to check out the bakery, RSL and Pub and admire the beauty of this small town. Or head upto Tumbarumba where you can visit the Winerys and Ginnery, have lunch at Coroubya wines,The Nest or one of the many cafes. Maybe take the challange of the Tumbarumba rail trail. Check out the water falls, the blowering dam and take in those beautiful mountain views.

Our story starts in Far North Queensland, when a german backpacker, me :), met an Aussie fisherman, Craig.
To cut the long story short, after living together in Germany we decided to move back to Australia. We had a vision, trying to find our perfect place to live.
Starting out with a car, a camper trailer and two bags we travelled from North Queensland down to Tasmania. Looking for a place to live.
On our way through Tumbarumba everything started to unfold and we fell in love with our property. The feel, the experience and the climate. This was it! We've found our perfect place and finally named it "Creal's Rest" which has two meanings for us. Obviously from our name, but also from "creel" which
is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish.
Escape the hustle bustle of life on our 10 acres alpaca life style farm which is nestled between beautiful hills and grazing properties on Walteela Road in Mannus (20 min drive to Tumbarumba). Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead...
Enjoy the peacefulness, local wildlife (kookaburras, echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, etc.), small creek, stunning mountain views and dark skies for star gazing. Birdwatchers... you'll love it!
Love fishing? Enjoy a chat with Craig, who has been a pro line fisherman for 18 years in the GBR! He loves to explore, show off the local fishing spots and a chat about all things fishing! Mannus Creek is only a couple of min drive away and Mannus Lake 15-20 min drive.
Hand feed our friendly alpacas, greet our pet chickens and find some eggs.
Ask us for some fresh herbs from our garden if you like cooking with a little extra flavour or use them to enjoy a herbal tea.

Our guesthouse is set on our 33-acre property and is located in Oura, just 25 minutes from the center of Wagga Wagga. Nestled amongst the rolling hills of Oura you will be immersed in the stillness of nature. On a clear night enjoy the beautiful display of stars undisturbed by the city lights. Just 15 minutes down the road is Oura Beach.. a little reserve on the Murrumbidgee river. Only 25 minutes away is the famous Junee Chocolate factory. Just a short 11-minute drive is the Wild Vine Winery and if you would like to indulge in some pampering book yourself in for a massage with Brooke at Figtree retreat just 7 minutes drive away.
Our Space:
The guesthouse is approx 100m from our home. In saying that you still have your privacy as there are gardens between us. Being a working farm you will see us moving about however we will leave you be unless you would like to interact! The guesthouse has 2 levels with the upstairs level containing a queen bed with luxurious Sheridan sheets and French linen bedding, reverse cycle aircon, flow-on heating from the fireplace downstairs, and a bathroom ensuite with a shower and toilet with toweling included. There is also a balcony off the upstairs room overlooking the gardens and market garden space. We also provide comfy and warm swags and camp mattresses for up to 2 kids to sleep in.
Downstairs is a separate toilet, dining, and lounge area with a double fold-out sofa bed. The woodfire provides plenty of warmth and we provide you with chopped wood. The kitchenette is a simple little kitchen with a bar fridge, benchtop induction cooker, and a slow cooker for your meals as there is no oven. There is also a BBQ for your use as well. It is well equipped to dine at home with all essential cookware and locally sourced condiments. Enjoy your meals inside or in our outdoor dining setting. There is a full house water filtration system giving you beautiful quality water to drink and shower in. We provide a variety of herbal teas and locally ground coffee with a coffee machine. Relax with our selection of books and games. There is a steam sauna available for use as well.
Take a walk by the creek and maybe take a picnic basket to enjoy there too. If you would like a personalized tour of the farm please let us know prior to arriving.

You will have your own access to the guesthouse with a car space. Feel free to wander the market garden space and explore the creek and paddocks.

You can always jump on your bike and head out on one of the many tracks in the area.

Head in Batlow to check out the bakery, RSL and Pub and admire the beauty of this small town. Or head upto Tumbarumba where you can visit the Winerys and Ginnery, have lunch at Coroubya wines,The Nest or one of the many cafes. Maybe take the challange of the Tumbarumba rail trail. Check out the water falls, the blowering dam and take in those beautiful mountain views.

Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead...
Enjoy the peacefulness, local wildlife (kookaburras, echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, etc.), small creek, stunning mountain views and dark skies for star gazing. Birdwatchers... you'll love it!
Love fishing? Enjoy a chat with Craig, who has been a pro line fisherman for 18 years in the GBR! He loves to explore, show off the local fishing spots and a chat about all things fishing! Mannus Creek is only a couple of min drive away and Mannus Lake 15-20 min drive.

Just a short 11-minute drive is the Wild Vine Winery and if you would like to indulge in some pampering book yourself in for a massage with Brooke at Figtree retreat just 7 minutes drive away.
Our Space:
The guesthouse is approx 100m from our home. In saying that you still have your privacy as there are gardens between us. Being a working farm you will see us moving about however we will leave you be unless you would like to interact! The guesthouse has 2 levels with the upstairs level containing a queen bed with luxurious Sheridan sheets and French linen bedding, reverse cycle aircon, flow-on heating from the fireplace downstairs, and a bathroom ensuite with a shower and toilet with toweling included. There is also a balcony off the upstairs room overlooking the gardens and market garden space. We also provide comfy and warm swags and camp mattresses for up to 2 kids to sleep in.
Downstairs is a separate toilet, dining, and lounge area with a double fold-out sofa bed. The woodfire provides plenty of warmth and we provide you with chopped wood. The kitchenette is a simple little kitchen with a bar fridge, benchtop induction cooker, and a slow cooker for your meals as there is no oven. There is also a BBQ for your use as well. It is well equipped to dine at home with all essential cookware and locally sourced condiments. Enjoy your meals inside or in our outdoor dining setting. There is a full house water filtration system giving you beautiful quality water to drink and shower in. We provide a variety of herbal teas and locally ground coffee with a coffee machine. Relax with our selection of books and games. There is a steam sauna available for use as well.
Take a walk by the creek and maybe take a picnic basket to enjoy there too. If you would like a personalized tour of the farm please let us know prior to arriving.

You will have your own access to the guesthouse with a car space. Feel free to wander the market garden space and explore the creek and paddocks.

A beautiful spot right on the river, so many sites to choose from with very friendly cows meandering through. Wayne and his dogs were very friendly and I’m sure if anything was needed, it wouldn’t be a problem. We’ll definitely be back for a longer stay, perhaps in cooler weather so we can take advantage of a fire. 32 Deg at 7pm was still just too warm to light a fire. Loved the whole experience and would totally recommend it.

Beautiful and quiet spot with easy swimming in the river. Pulled up on a Wednesday and we were the only ones at the Riverbend Camp. Great spot to stop off and break up the drive between Sydney and Melbourne. Thank you Sheryl and James!

Stunning campsite at Jarabin on the bank of the Murrumbidgee River! Peaceful, well-maintained pet-friendly sites (3) with fire pits (when permitted). We stayed 2 nights with our dog who loved exploring and paddling in the river. Nothing better than sitting quietly (with no phone reception!) watching the river change character throughout the day. Dozens of different birds and corellas use the river as a highway in the late afternoon. Bliss! As night falls, star-gazing took over - brilliant sky. And we even spotted a wombat! We ordered meat from Ben and the steak was the best we've had in long time. Clear instructions to access the property. Sad to leave but we'll be back!

So beautiful. Pictures don’t do it justice. Best Hipcamp I’ve been to. Did some fishing and swimming. Lots of wood lying around so had some great camp fires. So relaxing and the serenity is everything one could wish for. We stayed mid week and there was hardly anyone here.

We had a great stay at Karoola station at the Lagoon site. There are only 4 sites and such a large area. We did have people come in late one night and camp right next to us but certainly did not have any issues.
Had the entire area to ourselves for our last night which was a treat. We will certainly stay here in the future and highly recommend Karoola station. Great communication from Sheryl &James and clear directions to the Lagoon camp area. Than you.
