Located on the stunning Tumut River, where River Red gums are scattered though out the camp,offering shade, privacy, and comfort. Here you have clear Snowy River water at your doorstep. It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking. Also, please ensure kids are supervised at all times, particularly around the river. Lifejackets are recommended. During your time here, visit the local farm gates in Tumut, Batlow, Tumbarumba, and Adelong for their delicious high-country produce. Our story starts in Far North Queensland, when a german backpacker, me :), met an Aussie fisherman, Craig. To cut the long story short, after living together in Germany we decided to move back to Australia. We had a vision, trying to find our perfect place to live. Starting out with a car, a camper trailer and two bags we travelled from North Queensland down to Tasmania. Looking for a place to live. On our way through Tumbarumba everything started to unfold and we fell in love with our property. The feel, the experience and the climate. This was it! We've found our perfect place and finally named it "Creal's Rest" which has two meanings for us. Obviously from our name, but also from "creel" which is a wicker basket usually used for carrying fish. Escape the hustle bustle of life on our 10 acres alpaca life style farm which is nestled between beautiful hills and grazing properties on Walteela Road in Mannus (20 min drive to Tumbarumba). Walteela means "Place of Peace" and that is what you might be looking for. No traffic waking you. Listen to the sounds of nature instead... Enjoy the peacefulness, local wildlife (kookaburras, echidnas, wombats, kangaroos, etc.), small creek, stunning mountain views and dark skies for star gazing. Birdwatchers... you'll love it! Love fishing? Enjoy a chat with Craig, who has been a pro line fisherman for 18 years in the GBR! He loves to explore, show off the local fishing spots and a chat about all things fishing! Mannus Creek is only a couple of min drive away and Mannus Lake 15-20 min drive. Hand feed our friendly alpacas, greet our pet chickens and find some eggs. Ask us for some fresh herbs from our garden if you like cooking with a little extra  flavour or use them to enjoy a herbal tea.  Heard of "Swedish Torch" yet? An amazing way of having a campfire, that burns for hours. Cook on it or just enjoy the beautiful mess free fire. Book ahead! Endor Nature Camp is located in the picturesque town of Batlow, offering unique off-grid nature camping experiences. Only 25 minutes from the Tumbarumba to Rosewood Rail Trail, Endor is the perfect mountain hideaway to map out your day. Visit farm gates, take a tour of the Snowy Valleys Sculpture Trail and indulge your taste buds at some of the regions finest food and beverage establishments. Located on the Batlow to Tumbarumba road at Deep Gully Bend (The Old Mill) site entrance. Endor is only 2km from the village of Batlow, nestled into steep hillside and surrounded by Alpine woodland. Endor is home to a large variation of wildlife including the endangered Greater Glider and other Squirrel Glider species. Wombats roam at night along with kangaroo, wallaby and deer migrating when in season. Powerful Owls, Gang Gang and many species from the parrot family are a spectacular sight along with morning and Twighlight Finch performances. Endor is a primitive camp site with cabin style accommodation. There are two bunkers which are set 25m apart and each bunker can accommodate 2 people Max. Basic single bed set up with basic linen however it is required that you bring your own temperature rated sleeping bag for seasonal Camps in winter and shoulder periods. The weather can change very quickly, and temperatures can drop to below zero with snow in Winter. Campfires are allowed during the winter season and each bunker has a fire pit. Our aim is to provide a comfortable bed in an alpine off grid setting for those who seek an experience in nature. Located on Batlow Road you will experience some road traffic noise and log truck activity during peak hours in the morning and afternoon. A small reminder that you are still close to civilization.

Lost Eden. 210 ha of forest. Mix of tall old growth, dry forest and vegetated creek. Within 20m you become lost in the forest, the song of birds (superb lyrebirds) the smells, the trees. Also has over 2km.of lovely Micalong creek. Flows uninterrupted from Micalong swamp. This is as close to untouched forest you can get.

Adelong Falls Bush Camp offers a beautiful open, flat camping area on 2 acres of land. There is 13 old friendly Cows who also share the property and you may see them wandering around. Enjoy the brand new walking track at the front of the property which takes you up to the beautiful Adelong Falls. The walking trail will have you crossing the Adelong Creek and is a beautiful and scenic experience. We are close to Tumut and within reach of the Snowy Mountains, there is plenty of 4WD opportunities and beautiful views surrounding us. We are also walking distance to the pub! Campfires are welcome in the fire pit we have created, we will supply a small amount of firewood to get you started but you may like to bring along some more. Pets are welcome on leash, we have a dog as well and your pet must be good to the cows. We often have friendly kangaroos that visit too.

Backing ontoTalbingo Golf Course and close to everything Talbingo Village has to offer: water skiing, fishing, bush walking, mountain biking and snow skiing. Magnificant sightseeing and Yarrangbilly Caves - the perfect location for your next family friendly getaway! This cottage has split systems in all 3 bedrooms, a large kitchen with new appliances, Fast WiFi and wonderful views from the back deck. Talbingo village is a beautiful location with surrounding mountain views. Guests love the cleanliness, the modern interior and the views from almost every window. Clancy's cottage has peaceful surrounds. The proximity to Talbingo Dam and Blowering Dam for water sports, fishing and boating are also fantastic. Walk to the Country Club and Jounama Pondage.

We had a lovely 2 nights stay at Creal’s Rest. It was very peaceful. The alpacas were sweet and curious and there was even a baby alpaca! The burbling creek was pretty and a soothing sound. The big apple box gum tree was spectacular and provided nice shade. The site is just down the hill from the main house but quite private. There is a composting drop toilet (with no door). We saw a few platypus in Mannus creek 5 minutes drive down the road at the bridge. It was lovely and green in late spring. Our hosts were kindly and interesting to chat with. Thanks for having us!

Absolutely beautiful countryside, beautiful stream right beside camp. Hosts were amazingly warm and inviting. The kids really enjoyed the alpaca feeding. It was completely comfortable for our five kids to run off some energy and there is a very convenient clean long drop which was a definite plus for us👌 We will definitely be returning, thanks again to our wonderful hosts 👍

Creal's rest is an amazing break away - from the beautiful tree and creek, to the loo with a view and alpacas. The hosts are nothing short of fabulous and were very knowledgeable about where to spot the elusive platypus to the amazing Sswedish torch. We had a great time and hope to be back.

We loved the fact that Creal’s rest only has one hipcamper at a time. The campsite is sheltered and pretty with a lovely creek just below. We caught lots of Yabbies which were delicious! Spotting Platypus in the nearby river was wonderful.

We had the best time camping at Creals Rest. It's SO peaceful, the kids had a ball running around the paddock, swinging in the hammock, roasting marshmallows by the fire, pottering around in the creek, feeding the alpacas, bouncing on the trampoline and just being kids outside from morning until night! The space is so lovely and peaceful and 20-30 mins drive from Tumbarumba, gorgeous waterfalls (Paddys Falls), swimming spots (Paddys Flats), fishing spots (Mannus lake), and so many kangaroos to be seen within a 5 min drive! We had such a lovely time and Craig and Tatjana couldn't have been more helpful, would highly highly recommend to anyone looking at hipcamping here!!!

Camped next to the Apple Oak tree - provided great shade but also perfect to charge the batteries of the van. A peaceful campsite with an abundance of bird life and trickling creek on our visit. The resident Alpacas were inquisitive but after a short visits they went about doing what Alpacas do. The loo with a view is a winner in my eyes. Walteela means place of piece and Creals Rest is certainly peaceful. Tatjana and Craig are engaging and fantastic hosts. Highly recommend if you want a peaceful campsite that is just for you and your group.

Weekend Trip to Endor Nature Camp

My partner and I loved staying at Endor Nature Camp! It was so cozy and beautiful to be sleeping amongst the trees, looking out at the mountains, and listening to the sounds of nature as the sun went down. Even in the rain, the little bunker held up wonderfully. Kate was so patient, welcoming, and friendly with us. She left us pamphlets about walks and places to eat nearby, torches (that really came in handy!), some sweet treats, and more! Kate goes out her way to make her guests feel welcome and comfortable. The Bunkers are surrounded by eucalypts and the campground has birds and butterflies everywhere. It's such a beautiful spot to rest and recharge.
