Camp on the Murrumbidgee River with 300m of total river frontage, giving you plenty of room to spread out among the River Red Gums. Flat campsites provide easy access, with a gentle slope down to the water. Maximum 10 campers. The 15-acre camping area is part of a mixed-farming property (1,500 acres) and has easy access for campervans. The site is 8–10 minutes from Gundagai. A canoer’s paradise! Put your canoe in a few kilometres upstream and finish at the campsite, or simply enjoy the solitude around the fire. A scenic drive following the Murrumbidgee and Tumut Rivers can be taken as an alternative route to Tumut or Gundagai. The site can be used as a base camp for fishing, wineries, bushwalking, and ski fields. There is free firewood for campfires. Friendly, well-controlled pets are welcome, as long as they don’t disturb other campers. Please be mindful that cattle and sheep may be grazing nearby. Children must be supervised at all times, as the river can be fast-moving and become deep quickly. There may also be snakes in the area from time to time. Murrumbidgee water should be boiled, or please bring your own. There are no toilets at the site, and all rubbish should be taken with you. Amazing bird life

A lovely, peaceful site with beautiful surroundings and incredible bird life — the cockatoos and kookaburras were a highlight. Easy access for bigger caravans and plenty of room to settle in comfortably. Bill was a fantastic host and the generous supply of firewood was much appreciated. The river was gorgeous; while some sections of the bank are steep, there were accessible lower areas for fishing. The town of Gundagai is near by very handy for lunch or supplies. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely camp here again.

This is a great quite spot right on the river and has plenty of room for bike riding, cricket etc. Bill was an awesome host and even has piles of firewood scattered through the camping area for use. We will be back!

A bird photographers dream spot.

The camping opportunities run all along the Murrumbidgee River, and there are a bunch of spots with grass and amazing outlooks along the river. This is a bird-watcher/photographers dream spot, as there are all manner of birds running along the river and around the camp sites - I missed the shot of a Wedge tailed eagle running along the river scaring all the cockatoos, but that is an example of the opportunities. It is a quick jaunt into town and is very quiet.

Beautiful location on the Murrumbidgee River. Host is super accommodating & even supplied some firewood. Nice & flat & well spread out. Not far from town if needed. Highly recommend.

Having looked at prior reviews and photos, we thought this stay would be worth the nightly rate, so we booked 3 nights. When we arrived, it was a paddock which had been mowed down in areas to drive on. To reach the water from the campsite, we would almost have to abseil down to it. We have stayed at other riverfront campsites before, and we’ve always been able to get to the water, which is really why you stay there. The winds each day and night are quite significant. This paddock is basically the base of a bowl, with hills surrounding it. The only positive thing I could say about our stay was there was phone service there. Our worst value for money Hipcamp stay so far unfortunately, and the 1st negative review I’ve written.

Quiet, Easy Access River Camp

We really enjoyed our stay at River Bend. It is quiet and private, but also with quick easy trip to town if extra supplies are needed. Access to the sites was easy. Bill is a great host and great with communication. The sites are flat with good shade. Steepish slope down to river but we had no troubles accessing to throw in a line. We arrived to piles of firewood ready for us which was a great touch. Lots of space for the kids to play cricket and kick footy. The river was low, so not great for swimming at the time of our visit, but the kids (aged between 8-14) still had lots of fun playing under the trees along the riverbank. The sites are well spaced, certainly within view of each other but we did not notice any noise from the others. We’ll be back, thanks Bill!

We really enjoyed our stay under the shady trees by the Murrumbidgee at River Bend Camp. It was very peaceful and Bill was very friendly and accomodating. It was perfect for our two young grandchildren who loved the wide open space to roam and ride bikes.

The best Hipcamp we have stayed at . Right on the riverbank with shady spots to sit and fish or read etc . Plenty of fire wood and only a 5 minute drive to Gundagai . Had full phone range . Bill was a great host and the bulls are friendly and keep to themselves !

Very secluded riverside camping. Private, easy to access. Only 10 mins from town for any essentials. We had a nice level site with some shade. The river was flowing pretty fast so not ideal for kids swimming but great for a quick cool down. Good communication from Bill, though we didn't end up meeting in person. I recommend this site.
