Weekend Trip to “Wywurri 2”

We had a fabulous stay at Jennifer’s place. It’s rustic, fab views, very scenic… and the road noise was very low considering the convenience of the location. We did accidentally get bogged, so be aware of going a “loop” of the property after heavy rain! It was our first weekend with our brand new camper trailer, so it was great being so close to Gosford (aka Bunnings). We had a fabulous stay stay… wouldn’t hesitate to stay again.

Really fantastic weekend here celebrating a 30th birthday, great space for anyone looking to get out of the city for a bit. Great fireplace to keep warm next to if it rains and covered shelter, big bbq and pizza oven! Watch the speed racing on the river and relax. Megan's a helpful, great host, highly recommended!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Wywurri2, and it was a fantastic experience. The location is stunning, surrounded by fields and hills making it a perfect getaway for nature lovers. The area is spacious and well-spread out, providing plenty of privacy. Jennifer was friendly, welcoming, and met us on arrival. The serene environment made for a peaceful stay. I highly recommend Wywurri2 to anyone looking for a peaceful and memorable outdoor adventure.

Weekend Trip to Down by the Hawkesbury

Fantastic long weekend! Celebrated my 30th with friends here and genuinely couldn’t have been better. Friday evening home made pizzas, Saturday morning a quick trip to the local outdoor gokarting track then back for a game of cricket on one of Megans fields (very generous). Fishing throughout the weekend with some swimming in the river. In the evening we had a great bbq and played some games. The river shack is a lifesaver from both sun and rain and even more spacious than it appears on photos. Megan was a fantastic host. She offered to mow a wicket for our cricket game! She was very relaxed and let us get on with things and certainly created an environment to really enjoy ourselves. Would recommend to everyone.

Beautiful location so close to Sydney. Easy to find with good clear directions. Hosts were very accomodating. Despite the rain we had a wonderful relaxing break under the covered entertaining space. Would totally recommend and planning next trip

Beautiful secluded retreat. Great for 1 night with a dog, he loved the pond. Nice property to explore. Bring ramps if you’re using a rooftop tent, it was tricky to get my 4wd level.

Great little spot for groups. Easy (gl)amping as has it all - cooking facilities, tables, chairs and undercover etc. Nothing too much for Megan and Trevor. Very responsive and helpful. Trevor even brought down a huge TV to watch the test cricket! Thank you. Great stay

Our property is nestled in 2000 acres of totally private wilderness in the centre of the lush valley in the heart of the Blue Mountains. Canoelands Valley Camping

Canoelands Valley Camping is an easy-to-access camping area with magnificent views through the National Park Valley. With only two allocated camping/van zones enjoy the privacy and access to walk around the 40 acres. Located 1.15 hrs from Sydney CBD this is an ideal place for a quick weekend getaway for keen hikers, mountain bikers and nature enthusiasts. Surrounded by the Marramarra National Park you have a short drive to access the Canoelands Ridge Trail (17kms), Duckponds Ridge Trail, Marrarra Ridge to Smugglers Point Ridge Trail. We are a short drive to dine at Wiseman Ferry, and only 11 minutes from the local Woolworths. Or enjoy a beautiful walk at Fagan Park in Galston. Your camping/van area is supplied with red/bins. 2 Portaloos available or camping toilets. Dogs allowed but please let me know first. They will need to be on leash all the time and well behaved. Please pick up after them ANYWHERE they go toilet and also they must be vaccinated. A campfire during permitted times is allowed but only in the fire pits. There is loads of dried kindling and small logs around the property otherwise please bring your own. All Sites have fire pits. CHILDREN are to be accompanied by an adult at all times if walking around the property. Beautiful spot to relax, with loads of wildlife and bird watching. Please use bins supplied and leave no trace. * There are 4 allocated camp sites. Two are easy(2WD & Vans/trailers) access and have the direct view through the valley. Two require high wheel clearance vehicles (just small hill to drive up with some rocks), these are more private sites(cannot see the other campers) still with lovely views. NSW Ski Gardens is situated on the banks of the Hawkesbury River at Wisemans Ferry. Every October - April is our peak time and its busy! Please be aware there is river noise during our busy times on weekends so may not suit those looking for tranquillity on weekends. During the week it's fine but weekends are busy and a bit noisy. We are 1.2 km from the township along the River Road. There are powered and unpowered sites for caravans and campers set in a rustic location. Amenities include hot showers, laundry, on-site kiosk and boat ramp (fee applicable). BBQ and covered picnic area. Dogs are welcome on leash. Firewood is available for purchase on-site.

Non-powered camp area with toilet access in an open grassy paddock surrounded by spectacular mountains. The paddock is located across for the Hawkesbury River and has access across the road for kayaking, fishing, and swimming. This site is pet friendly but please be advised that they must remain on leash at all times. There is an abundance of native birds and wildlife including wombats, wallabies, reptiles etc. on the property as well as free range chickens. Just 4km from camp (easy cycling distance) you can find the Historic Wisemans Ferry Pub, the Bowling Club, a cafe, church, tennis courts, new boat ramp, petrol station, and Friendly Grocer. Each site has space for one vehicle and caravan/tent. There is 1 shared toilet with basin for all campers to use. Please bring own water for drinking and cooking. Fires are only allowed in the fire pit (Seasonal). Total fire ban is in effect. No fires or charcoal beads. Gas cooking only.

Situated close to East Gosford shopping, Somersby Falls, Woy Woy Falls and Glenworth Valley. Sydney CBD is 67kms south with Newcastle an hour to the North. Originally settled in 1889 "Bobs Grant" this lovely property and the surrounding land was originally used for farming but is now mostly turf farms. Enjoy our little getaway down by the Hawkesbury River only 10 minutes from historic Windsor. A beautiful river shack for your use exclusively, including fire pit with direct access to the Hawkesbury river. Destroyed in the March and July 2022 floods, we have now re-built and are looking forward to welcoming back our guests. Bring your caravans, tent or swag - all are welcome! Unfortunately, boats are not. Relax and enjoy the serenity whilst being only 1 hour from Sydney. We offer the site to one group only, a maximum of 20 guests. However note, we are not a place for rowdy groups and parties. Groups are welcome here to enjoy the time with their family and friends, play a little music and relax by the river. The river can get busy (which is great after the floods as it has been dead for so long) and so can the road across the river but if you are enjoying your family and friends you won't even notice! We have one basic toilet, and one river water shower available too! Please bring your own drinking water. Fires are only permitted when allowed, in the designated areas only.

Canoelands Orchard Camping and Fruit Picking, is located just 1 hour from Sydney's CBD. The property is 81 acres in total with a small shop and cafe onsite. We offer pick your own fruit so are open to the public daily (closed on occasion). Trading hours can be viewed at www.bookingscanoeladns.com. We are surrounded by the stunning valley views of Marra Marra National Park. Guests can enjoy hiking, wandering the orchard picking fresh produce, taking a tractor ride, feeding the animals and relaxing. Please note we are a working farm so sometimes tractors and vehicles can be heard working from 7am. There will be foot traffic and possibly tractor rides operating near some of the sites although we will do our best to respect your privacy while you are here. We also have a quarry surrounding most of the property, so they sometimes operate machinery early. This is not generally too disruptive though. We are just 15 minutes' drive from the beautiful historical Wiseman's Ferry and the Hawkesbury River. There are multiple hiking tracks located close by. We have several sites to offer around the property. We have a beautiful huge dam just 350m down the gully. It’s super peaceful although a steep walk down the driveway to access, it's definitely worth it, so pack your walking shoes and some swimmers.

Mellows Ridge

Nestled right up against the escarpment at an elevation of 450m, this high-end, off-grid 40 acre property effectively offers your own private slice of Macquarie Pass National Park - amazing views, giant cedar trees, fern forests, cascading waterfalls and palms surround. It feels remote but it's only 90 min from Sydney, 30 min to Kiama and just 15 min to the shops. The property also offers the only hiking path up to the top of the escarpment for some truly amazing views. As of September 2024, all the trails on the property have been massively upgraded and are passable with a 2WD car. If you're towing or it's wet we still recommend AWD or 4WD vehicles. We've just (mid December) added a spa half way up the driveway. It can be booked through the extras. We're not particularly price sensitive - until all those rate rises - but we are extremely value sensitive so we set out to make your stay extremely good value for your hard earned money. The land itself does most of the heavy lifting but also personal service and of course there's Lana to fall in love with. Note, Mellows Rd is 2.6km long and rises 400m - in parts the road is a 15 degree grade. It's all paved but narrow so if you are towing a large heavy load, it's going to strain your car.
