What a great spot to have as a base while exploring the Bathurst area!! This really is everything we look for when travelling when all you need is a safe location to leave the van while you go adventuring and seeing the local sites. Access to site is easy and the sites are level and maintained nicely. Definitely will be back when we are in the area for the numerous events Bathurst has on throughout the year. Well done!!!!

The campsite in the olive grove was excellent, plenty of space and the facilities enough to make for an easy, relaxing, and peaceful stay. I had three nights and enjoyed the birdlife, clear night skies, and the cellar door close by. The hot shower, gas cooker and fridge made the camping so easy it is a great place for a quick getaway.

We just spent a phenomenal time at this campsite and can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, our host, Bruce, made us feel welcome. He's incredibly accommodating and friendly, stopping by to check in, chat, and—most importantly—dropping off a huge supply of firewood and a firepit. He made it clear that he was available if we needed anything at all, which we really appreciated. The site is truly a perfect family retreat. We loved the natural beauty, especially the pristine, flowing river. The grounds were impeccably kept: the grass was lush, green, and perfectly trimmed. The ultimate luxury was the total peace and privacy of having the entire area to ourselves. We are already planning our return for a much longer visit!

Great location for solo or group camping. Stone's throw from the winery cellar door. We recommend getting a cheese platter with your tasting, fantastic experience! Really lovely and helpful hosts. Camp kitchen is well equipped for making food, with some basics to help out. Beautiful olive grove to explore. Plenty of wood for the fire. Awesome tree house for bigger kids.

We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW. The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it. The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax. The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River. Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature. The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river. We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location. We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too. We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look. From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo. We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water. Showers need to be short because water supply is limited. In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink. This is pictured in our latest photos. This building also looks down on the Bell river which looks sensational at the moment due to all the rain.

We are situated 10km out of Parkes which is home to the famous Dish and the annual Elvis Festival. Set on a gentle slope, it boasts picturesque views of the surrounding farmland, tranquil dams and lush native vegetation. Guests are offered access to stroll around our 18acre property by foot only. Vehicles are to be kept at the camp site however. Pets are allowed but must be on leash at all times. We do have a dog, chooks and guinea fowls and the nature of the property abundant wildlife may be present. Guests are welcome to enjoy a camp fire in the designated area during the winter months when the local regulations permit. The statutory Bush Fire period is from 1st October to 31st March. Unwind in the seclusion of this private and safe bush camping site on the banks of the Wambuul-Macquarie River in the remote Killongbutta valley located half-way between Bathurst and Orange. It’s a place where time stands still. Enabling you to reconnect with nature as you slow down and embrace the sounds of the river, wildlife and sheoaks when they ‘whisper secrets to the wind’. Many stories and dreamings have come from this place which guarantees to inspire your imagination as an artist, writer, poet or musician. You have access to 100 acres of bushland or enjoy a walk along Killongbutta Road which winds its way through spectacular Wiradjuri country where ancient stone quarries, corroboree sites and a warrior’s grave have been found. Platypus, water dragons and river rats all live in the river. Be prepared to share the site with wombats who have burrowed their homes into the banks. Road access to site is suitable for 2WD in dry weather. It is a short, steep drop with two tight corners not suitable for large caravans and RVs. The site has a newly constructed long drop toilet, pets are allowed and bring your own firewood to ensure you have enough as it's becoming scarce around the site. Please take all rubbish with you. Please note: Kids under 12 are free to support young families wanting to experience the bush. Please still add them to the booking as they will not be charged. What is not allowed: shooters and trappers, illegal fishing, motor bikes, quad bikes and other noisy machines! Killongbutta Road runs off Freemantle Road and is 36 kms from Bathurst. It is 40 kilometres from Orange through Gowan Road that joins Lower Lewis Ponds Road. For your information, On the Stone is a podcast and publishing studio that produces a quarterly magazine for the Freemantle Road community. We have local history to share and can always provide information about our services. Our property is situated on a working apple and cherry orchard at the base of Mount Canobolas, 10 minute drive from Orange. The region has much to offer including amazing wineries and cellar doors, quaint villages with artisans shops, hot air balloon rides, waterfalls, the Arch Cave and more. Here at The Orchard visitors are welcome to pick their own fruit in season, at a cost. Please speak to your host if you are interested. Lake Canobolas is close by for swimming and there are a number of walking/ hiking trails in the beautiful Mount Canobolas National Park.
