After a busy day of visiting the vineyards of Orange you are able to relax around the campfire, whether you're camped under the hay shed or not, and take in the serenity.
If you wish, you can accompany us on a cattle experience with both our herefords and highlands, feeding and grooming them (weekends only). You are welcome to try your luck in our dam if you have your own fishing gear.
Pets are welcome but we do have livestock on the property, as do our neighbours, so please keep them under control.

We are Marilyn and Peter, we own, live and run a mixed farming business from this beautiful land, located in the Central Tablelands NSW.
The country varies between undulating and steep land and has 7 km of double frontage Bell River running through it.
The river can range from rapidly flowing to the more usual steady flowing and is most often very clear. The river has numerous swimming spots, some with a rocky base, and some with sand. The winding river and the varying countryside is incredibly peaceful and beautiful and is a perfect retreat for those looking to disconnect and relax.
The river has its origin near Orange and is also fed into by many springs. Weandre Creek runs in the backcountry and winds into the Bell River.
Our comfortable Hut is situated on an elevated spot looking down on the river with a graduated road leading down. It has everything you need for a relaxing, recharging stay in nature.
The Hut can accommodate up to 4 people, however, you also have the option for up to 6 additional guests to set up swags, tents, or a camper trailer nearby. There is space next to the Hut, or for those with a 4WD, there are some lovely camping sites down by the river.
We also offer sites for those looking for a self-contained camping site, in a beautiful location.
We love the solitude, the endless bush walks, swimming, and being immersed in nature. We are confident you will too.
We also have a lovely art gallery on the property, and for a small fee and prior arrangement, you are welcome to come and take a look.
From our farm, it is 60 km to Orange with all its wineries, food festivals, and many attractions. Wellington is 40 km and boasts the Wellington Caves. Dubbo is 90 km and is a big inland city and boasts the Western Plains Zoo.
We are so glad to let you know we have a new (but intentionally rustic) structure which houses a shower powered by gas and solar with gravity fed water.
Showers need to be short because water supply is limited.
In a separate space is a gas BBQ and sink.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

The Statham family moved to Rosnay in 1996 and began renovating the run down farm using organic and biodynamic methods. They planted the first vines in 1997, and olives in 1999, as well as thousands of native trees, all planted and grown without any chemicals.
The exclusive camping area is on the banks of a old farm dam in the middle of the olive grove. There are sheep and alpacas, and plenty of birds and kangaroos living there too.

Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January).
Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish".
Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer.
The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans.
Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks.
For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre.

In the early 1970’s Mr James, the owner of 'Biara', subdivided three 25 acre blocks across the road from the original homestead. The first block was sold to his nephew, the middle block was to be purchased by the Preston family and ‘The Gateway’ was purchased by a Mr Carveth.
Unfortunately, the sale of the middle block fell through then, due to family illness, 'Biara' was sold and the family moved to Blackheath. After this move, and as thank you to his son, Mr James transferred the title of the middle of the three subdivided blocks to his only son, William.
Back in the late 1960’s, early 1970’s, the area was vastly different than it is today. Travelling to school entailed a car trip to Hargraves then bus to Mudgee which would have been a 2 hour round trip! The area was far more isolated as there was no power and entailed an overland phone line, which had to be regularly repaired if residents wanted to be able to communicate with the outside world.
The site allows mainly for camping and relaxing although there are numerous dirt roads to explore, Mudgee wineries close by and Burrendong Dam not far away (accessible via Hill End Road near Erudgere). Hargraves is also known for it's alluvial gold deposits and fossickers still go there regularly to check out Louisa Creek.
There is 15km's of dirt road which needs to be traveled to reach the property. Dependent on weather, and if it has been graded recently, this road can be in varying states of repair. In heavy rain it may be difficult to get 2WD access via the public road due to the clay content in the road .
Kangaroo, wallaby, owl species, kookaburra, echidna, snakes, various lizards, including shinglebacks, are often seen on these roads and the property.

The Statham family moved to Rosnay in 1996 and began renovating the run down farm using organic and biodynamic methods. They planted the first vines in 1997, and olives in 1999, as well as thousands of native trees, all planted and grown without any chemicals.
The exclusive camping area is on the banks of a old farm dam in the middle of the olive grove. There are sheep and alpacas, and plenty of birds and kangaroos living there too.

Burrill Banks is a 35-acre hobby farm just off the Newell Highway, approximately 33km from Parkes, NSW, home to the famous ELVIS Festival (8th- 12th January).
Just a few Km up the road is the famous Parkes telescope, or "The Dish".
Large cropping and sheep farms surround us. We have 35 sheep and 2 dogs. Burrill Banks is on Burrill Creek which runs down from the Harvey’s Ranges to the east of Goobang National Park. The creek is often dry through the summer.
The camping area is about 7 acres with open and treed areas. It is on the south side of Burril Creek'. The site can accommodate up to 8 caravans.
Alectown is historically a farming and gold mining area with mine shafts from the 1800’s dotted across the area. You can visit an open-cut gold mine in Peak Hill 15 km north of Burrill Banks.
For walking and bike tracks plus tonnes of sites and activities, visit the Parkes Visitors Centre.

Nice spot, plenty of room and a welcoming feeling. Karen was very friendly and made us feel good about being there.
The site is mostly flat, few trees around for shade, and they have plenty of fresh water available.
We were there in peak hot weather so it was a bit dry, I'd love to see it in the cooler months with some green grass...
No toilet so make sure you take your own, or there is a public one nearby.
I have popped it on my preferred list :)

It was really lovely! Lots of space to stay private. The river was beautiful and lovely for a dip. Lots of horses and alpacas. A fox walked around our camp at night. It was clean. Great long drop toilet.
We met Damian, a really nice man who made us very welcome. I am glad we found this spot and will be back every year.

What a beautiful place. Damien and Tammie have created the perfect space for you to make your camping experience your own. Banjos Run is set back from the river with a view over the water, nice flat grassed camping spots, fireplace and shade in the mornings if you set up near the huge gums. The camp sites are set a long way apart so you really have your own space and plenty of it so you're not camped on top of other people. The toilet is clean and only a short walk. The river easily accessible. Given how dry and hot it's been the area was well grassed and the friendly horses seemed content grazing. We met Damien and Tammie on arrival and during our stay and they are perfect hosts. The track down is 4x4 - my stock Patrol did it easily. I would expect anyone with any 4x4 experience wouldn't even baulk at it. We enjoyed a campfire, a little swimming and fishing. We had a great stay and will definitely be back!

We had the most amazing stay at Watton Airstrip! The property is absolutely beautiful, stunning river views, peaceful surrounds, and even though we accidentally booked during the Bathurst 12 Hour race weekend (when the property was fully booked), there was still so much space between campsites. It genuinely felt like we had our own private little slice of paradise on the river.
We didn’t realise the track in was a proper 4WD track, but Damien gave us great advice and tips before we headed down. On the way out, we thought we’d done a wheel bearing on our caravan and Tammie and Damien went above and beyond. They had us park up at their house, jacked the van up, and helped us check it over.
Absolutely stunning land, super friendly and helpful hosts, and just an all-round fantastic experience. We’re already talking about planning our next trip back! Highly recommend!!

Our second time staying but our first time down by the river. The Rapids is a lovely spot, but note that it is one of the furthest from the very cute toilet, but we would still certainly recommend it. The road down is definitely 4WD only. We have a newish VW campervan set up for off-road and managed it okay, but it is rocky so you need to pick your line. We can also recommend the homemade bread delivered to our door! Loved the ambience of the roaming horses and kangaroos.

Expect to be impressed, You can see the effort that Damien and Tammie have poured into the property, really well maintained, while remaining natural, sites have been selected with campers in mind, we arrived to a warm and friendly greeting, and everything we needed to to know to get to the site. Super helpful, fun track in, and out, a little more challenging after a night of rain, but still totally manageable, loved it, we will be back often.

The drive down and back out is a bit hairy if you have a small SUV and are not much of a 4WD-er (like me) but it was worth it to enjoy the river frontage. I visited during the week when there were very few people around, very serene and still enough water in the mighty Wambuul (Macquarie) for a swim even after a dry spell.

Watton Airstrip is a great spot off the beaten track. With several campsites along the river with plenty of space in between each.. It was 37-41 when we were there, but we were easily able to escape the heat amongst the trees and in the water at the Nook. Great swimming and paddling at The Nook and the Deep Spot. We'd love to visit after lots of rain and see the river run higher and faster.
We loved sharing the space with a miriad of animals, alpacas, horses, lizards and dragons, roos and Wallabies, dear over the river and we even spotted several platypus!
Watch out for those cheeky horses though. They're always up for a treat of whatever they can steal. Keep your food secure or they be back for more. Spare ratchet straps are good fencing around your camp. Enjoy!
