Just over 2 hours drive from Sydney CBD we are in the heart of Darkinjung Country, bordered by the Wollemi and Yengo National Parks. Enjoy the spectacular views as you wind your way along Putty Road passing through farmland, bushland and past rural post boxes.
Our property has a 7km walking track around it with a beautiful valley, interesting rock formations, 1 million trees (or so we have been told!) and creek crossings to navigate. Keep your eyes peeled for kangaroos, wombats, koalas, goannas and all manner of native birds and plants. We also have a shallow creek a stone's throw from the camping site, perfect for paddling or exploring.
If the peace and quiet gets a little too quiet(!) nearby activities include horse-riding, off-road driving, and the Hunter Valley wineries are just over an hour’s drive away.
We (Mark, Sam and Whiskey the labradoodle) can’t wait to welcome you to our little piece of bushland paradise.
Other things to note:
- There are no facilities at the campsite, so self-contained campers only (you need your own toilet).
- The nearest shops are an hour's drive away so make sure you bring all food and drinking water for your stay.
- The property is off-grid with limited phone reception (Telstra only).
- Camp fires are allowed except during fire bans and firewood is available for $20 per stay.
- The maintenance of the track is dependent on when we last worked on it, so you may find yourself creek jumping and making your own path through the vegetation (things grow fast at Putty!).

Had a good two night stay here. Nice easy access spot for our van.
Lovely clean drop toilet with outdoor sink.
Fire pit was a bonus to sit around and have a wine as sunset. We're able to gather kindling and some firewood just outside property or bring your own.
Close to Mudgee and surrounds for wine tasting and lunch.
Only minus was traffic noise, but only during daylight hours, no problem at night.Had a great stay.

We loved our stay at Dunollie Ridge.
The view over the dam and property is beautiful, with lots of farm animals roaming around the property.
The campsite is very private and has multiple fire pits.
Adam was a fantastic host and had some great tips on places to visit in Mudgee.
I would highly recommend Dunollie Ridge if you're looking for an off-grid farm stay close to Mudgee.

Our family loved camping on Adams land. He was friendly and approachable and we enjoyed a roaring fire using firewood provided by him. He was also kind enough to let us fill our caravan water tanks using his tank water. My wife and kids especially enjoyed their time with his farm animals including his dogs which came to visit us. We enjoyed our one night camp at Follyfoot Meadow, Jennye was very welcoming and friendly and provided lots of extras in a cute little caravan onsite. The bush walks were lovely, the stars were so bright. Jennye even provided firewood for us which was appreciated. Lots of nature and animals around and my daughter enjoyed hand feeding Fran the cow.
The only downside was the noise from the highway which is unavoidable.
Would definitely recommend this Hipcamp to other campers. Thanks for your friendly hospitality Jen!

Despite all the rain, we really enjoyed our stay. Jennye was so lovely and provided us with some great resources to explore the local area. We camped at the top of the property, right near the road, there was traffic noise, but not enough to bother us. Phone service was not fantastic, I think it was a provider issue, but once again didn’t bother us, we didn’t go camping to be glued to our devices the entire time.
