Look out to the scenic landscape of Wagga from crops to the city itself with a birds eye view.Our 45 acre property is the ideal location for your next stay! Just 7kms to the City of Wagga as well as the Murrumbidgee River.All sites are for self-contained campers only. We do not offer toilet facilities, so you must bring your own toilet, and leave no trace.  Please Note there is a Slope, it is on a hill. Some flat spots available.Drinking water is available.Campfires are permitted when fire restrictions aren't in place.Kids are welcome and if under 12 there is no charge for their stay.We are a working farm and have sheep, chickens, a horse, dog and a cat. Pets welcome just needs to be away from other animals and restrained at night.

The Old Shed

Located behind the iconic Dog on the Tuckerbox, the property offers a taste of country living. 

You can enjoy a beautiful sunrise towards the snowy mountains. We are only 6 km from Gundagai historical town which features the large wooden trestle bridge.

Not a commercial campground . There are no amenities so you'll need to have everything you need and leave no trace.

Retro Caravan in Muttama

Muttama is a small village situated in the beautiful Riverina, just 30 minutes from Cootamundra or Gundagai. 

The property still has the original 1904 Church that the hosts have converted into a home. In the 3 years we have lived here we have transformed what was once a sheep paddock into a permaculture garden.

Offering this retro caravan accomodating two guests. Campers will have access to both a shower and private toilet throughout their stay.

Visitors are welcome to enjoy a campfire in the fire pit provided, don't forget to look up and enjoy some amazing star gazing.

Cootamundra is a lovely town to visit, there are a number of great cafes and bakeries to enjoy along with plenty of parks and walks to explore.

The Cootamundra scenery is just simply something else. The native tree’s guiding you along your path throughout National Parks and along dam banks will provide you with an insight into not only the beautiful countryside, but also the areas animals as well.

PLEASE NOTE: Retreat is a working farm. For biosecurity reasons, we cannot host visitors who have returned from overseas within the last 10 days.

Retreat is a historic sheep station and regenerative farm on Pinchgut Creek, in Wiradjuri Country, on the southwest slopes of NSW. Strategic grazing methods are fostering biodiversity (above and below ground). Creekside revegetation has brought the waterway back to life. Birdlife abounds. Take a walk along the creek, through the regenerating woodland.  

Pitch your tent under shady white cedar trees, beside the Retreat Shearer's Quarters. After sunset, listen for the mopoke owls, which sometimes call from the branches of ancient yellow box trees. Nights are dark here. Marvel at a sky full of stars. Occasionally, a rare Australasian bittern, nesting in the reed beds on Pinchgut Creek, will add its booming call to the night time frog chorus. Butcher birds often sing at sunrise.

The towns of Cootamundra, Temora and Junee are less than half an hour away.

Guests have access to two hot showers, a laundry, toilet, and drinking water (rainwater). There is access to electricity, but no rubbish facilities. We ask that you remove all of your own rubbish, as we don't have a council rubbish pickup service. 

Stay cozy in the evenings around the campfire. Campfires can be made in the cooler months, by permission, and only in the designated fire circle.

Tents may only be set up under the old, shady white cedar trees on the western side of the long, corrugated iron dormitory building, with a view towards the creek. The campsite is 2WD accessible and there's plenty of room for motorhomes, campervans and camper trailers. The campsite is grassy and level, but the area can get boggy in wet weather. Please check in with us about the current conditions. ​​​

A lot of amazing native landscapes and some open areas. Great for trail riding, bush walking or mountain bike as there are gentle slopes through the bush.

Grass trees are plentiful in the rear of the property and there are two eagles that live near the back of the block also.

You do have to drive through inglebah reserve to get to the property which is hidden away .

Only 7 mins to town which has all the outlets you need 

We also have 4g on the property for Optus users in most locations

FIRE RESTRICTIONS

Please adhere to the local fire ban dates and do not start fires near grass areas when wind is increased. Also we have a nice big dirt area area the camp ground  so get the kiddies to round up a few rocks to create a fire pit and there is an abundance of fire wood. 
Always be cautious of lighting a camp fire not to close to fuel and or your vehicles or tent, the wind may change through the night.

- We will have an ENVIRO TANK installed mid year for a drop point sewer 
- We only have 6 dams on the property with plenty of YABBIES if you grab some yabbies please throw in some pieces of meat and or frozen veggies to help them grow for the next time you visit.
- There are a lot of Native wallabies on our property and many hares with in the bush land 

NO QUESTIONS ASKED RESTRICTIONS AND GUIDELINES 

- YOU MAY HAVE FIRE ARMS WITH YOU IF YOU ARE LICENCED AND PASSING THROUGH !! BUT UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE IS THERE ANY SHOOTING ON THE PROPERTY AS THERE MAY BE MORE THEN 1 GROUP ON THE PROPERTY.

- PICK UP ALL YOUR RUBBISH WHEN YOU LEAVE AND PUT IT IN BINS PROVIDED IN TOWN (5 MINS AWAY) there are piles of old rubbish in farm that we are cleaning up on a monthly basis which was left there from previous owners. Please treat the farm like it is your home.
