Located on the stunning Tumut River, where River Red gums are scattered though out the camp,offering shade, privacy, and comfort. Here you have clear Snowy River water at your doorstep. It's so fresh we drink it! Each camping site is by the river, prime position for fishing, canoeing, and swimming. Based on availability, you are welcome to choose your spot on arrival. All options are grassed and level. You will have access to pit toilets (3) otherwise, please BYO facilities. Small campfires are welcome in the fire pits provided, or BYO firepit (permitting there are no restrictions in place at the time). Firewood can be purchased at the time of booking. We’re pet-friendly! Please note, however, that we are a working farm with ongoing activities and resident animals, including livestock and farm dogs, so all pets must be kept under control at all times. Aggressive, disruptive, or potentially dangerous dogs of any type are not allowed — especially restricted breeds (e.g. Pit Bulls, Bull Mastiffs). Only friendly dogs are permitted, and we reserve the right to ask you to leave if your dog is deemed unsafe or aggressive upon arrival. If you have any doubts, please message us prior to booking. Karoola Station is a working family farm, lucky enough to have frontage and easy access to the Murrumbidgee River near Gundagai in NSW, halfway between Sydney and Melbourne. We are located a short 13km drive off the Hume Highway and only 45 minutes from Wagga Wagga the largest inland city in NSW. Not only is Gundagai the gateway to the Riverina but the Snowy Mountains Alpine area is within a day trip from here too, making it a great central location. We are sheep graziers, and in season, visitors can observe the newborn lambs or freshly shorn sheep. There are no amenities available, self contained camping only. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Please consult hosts regarding fires during dry summer months even when no fire ban in place. Good access for caravans Karoola gives you the opportunity to fish, swim, boat or kayak on the river. You can walk along the riverbank or up onto the rocky outcrop for a great view of the Murrumbidgee floodplain and surrounding farming country or perhaps you would just like to relax with a good book and drink under the huge gumtrees on the riverbank in peace and quiet. We are located at Brungle Creek, between Tumut and Gundagai. We have many private, secluded, beautiful spots for you to choose from. The views are spectacular and the atmosphere is the ultimate for relaxing. It's best for self sufficient campers as there are no toilets or amenities. In advance, you can arrange a farm tour through host. There are no toilets for campers so you will need to be self-contained with your own camping toilet and shower. Drinking and cooking water available. Our cabin is fully contained with all that you need for a comfortable stay. Dogs permitted but must be well controlled and NOT chase livestock. Campfires permitted in designated areas when restrictions aren't in place. Firewood available, discuss with host where to get it from. Lovely spot to relax and unwind and really connect. The night sky is incredible, lay back and gaze for hours. You will only have neighbours if you bring them with you, all camps are private! Bliss!

Set up camp next to undulating Mirrool Creek frontage and enjoy recreational activities including swimming, fishing and paddling. Don't forget to bring your canoe or kayak. The camp area is scattered with redgums and you have great views of the wonderful scenery. Depending on where you camp as far as access to the toilets goes, you could be anywhere from 20 metres to 500 metres from the facilities. Water is also in close proximity as well depending on where u setup. You are welcome to enjoy a campfire, within local regulations. There is plenty of wildlife around, including kangaroos. and birdlife. Close to Lake Abortree, a 70 acre inland lake. Only 6kms from village of Ariah Park- whichlikes to describe itself as a town of 'bowsers, wowsers and peppercorn trees'. There is something delightfully timeless about the town: the wide main street with the tree-lined median strip; the old shops with their verandas; the quietness and peacefulness. The town is listed by the National Trust as a Conservation Area.

Enjoy the brand new walking track at the front of the property which takes you up to the beautiful Adelong Falls. The walking trail will have you crossing the Adelong Creek and is a beautiful and scenic experience. We are close to Tumut and within reach of the Snowy Mountains, there is plenty of 4WD opportunities and beautiful views surrounding us. We are also walking distance to the pub! Campfires are welcome in the fire pit we have created, we will supply a small amount of firewood to get you started but you may like to bring along some more. Pets are welcome on leash, we have a dog as well and your pet must be good to the cows. We often have friendly kangaroos that visit too.

I loved camping at Bahwidgee! It’s so well maintained and right on the river. Wayne is an incredibly friendly host and his farm is beautiful. Only a short 3-4km walk into town (Tumut) and there’s a lovely river walk there too. Would definitely recommend and we will be back for sure.

Wonderful open area with plenty of options along the riverbend. Fishing difficult due to snags but we definitely gave it a good crack. Very steep decent down to river camping area. We had heavy caravan and luckily dry weather allowed us to get out ok. Also an awesome winery 🍷 2 mins away.

This was our third stay here in 3 years and it still is our favourite camping spot. Wayne as always was a great host. It's so tranquil with the great grassy camp sites combined with the river the bird life the cattle the views of the surrounding area and maybe a trout or two make it just so relaxing. The new toilets were a added bonus. It's only a 10 minute drive Into town for supplies and entertainment. We will be back again next year. Rob

3rd time visiting Karoola Station. This time we stayed at River Bend as the grass was too high at The Lagoon. There were 3 of us with caravans plenty of room and nice and peaceful spot. We had 4 dogs with us and they were pretty happy too!

Property was beautiful. Access through the property was well sign posted. We stayed at the lagoon where there was slow moving water for the kids to play in and fast water for fishing and adult fishing. Be warned the GPS dot for the lagoon of used in Google maps will direct you to the north side of the river and the camp-site is on the south side of the river. All in all looking forward to camping here again with friends.

Easy access to a peaceful riverside grassed campsite with great views. Dog friendly! Close to Tumut for local produce. Franklin’s Butchers, Locals at Learmont and My Fruit and Veg are a must. Host Wayne a good operator. We will go back.

Great location very peaceful and lots of space particularly when not busy. Seems to take in quite a number of campers including groups which might not be as enjoyable. Wayne responsive but not invasive at all.

A beautiful place! Peaceful, serene camping right next to the river. Was lovely to wake up to cattle wandering close by in the morning. Wayne’s directions were great, and the added firewood was abundant! Pity my fire lighting skills are less than average. Would love to stay again sometime.
