Primitive camping
Best for self-contained campers. There are no toilets, showers, or water at this Hipcamp.
You are invited to camp on what was once a golf course, and always has been surrounded by natural bushland. Situated only 20 minutes from Canberra, we offer you the opportunity to escape from the hustle and bustle of the city and immerse yourself in a peaceful country experience. There are dams to swim in, and a beautiful nature reserve where you can take a peaceful walk. If you would like to have a wander and experience some untouched bushland, please ask and we can provide simple directions. Bird watching and wildlife observation is unavoidable, and we recommend downloading the ACT Field Guide app. Enjoy your morning coffee surrounded by kangaroos and cockatoos. Suitable for Tents, Campers, Vans and Caravans, with good access for 2WD and caravans. Must have own amenities. There are no toilets on site and you need to take everything away with you. Small campfires are permitted in designated areas, when restrictions aren't in place. You may use dead wood that you find on the golf course area as firewood. Please do not gather firewood from the nature reserve, for wildlife's sake. Pets are not permitted.

Loved the serenity and the wildlife. The songs the frogs, crickets and koalas made at night and the kookaburras and cockatoos early morning wake up was awesome. Fire at night, what more could you ask for and so close to Canberra. We will be going back.

The site was beautiful, with so many kangaroos jumping around! Saw lots of birds, ducks, and a rabbit in the distance too. Too bad you could hear the vehicles on the highway at night. Other than that, it was a very calming place to stay

Perfect, for what we needed.
We had two events to attend over two nights in Canberra, and this location was a perfect place to set up camp. Close to Canberra, but far enough away to feel as if you’re bush camping. Plenty of room to find the perfect campsite for your needs and setup. Surrounded by fresh air and lots of native wildlife. Quite picturesque, and easy enough for most sizes of rigs to get into. Thank you to the owners for your hospitality and for opening up your land for us all to experience. I would definitely stay here again if the need required. *** please note that the property is not far from the Hume Hwy, so at night the heavy vehicles can be quite noisy. Other than that… awesome spot.

Nice bit of flat ground to have a practice of setting up a camper. 5 mins from a servo and 10 mins from a Woolworths so not really in the sticks. Can hear road noise from the highway. Overall, it is ok.

Lovely spot camped down by the dam. Easy directions. Would come back for a quick getaway.
