Weekend Trip to Truffle Farm Camping

Raymond and Trisha were so welcoming. Felt like we had the place to ourselves. Horses, cow, goats, chickens and the pig were very kid friendly. Plenty of good dry fire wood provided at our site. There is so much to offer at this property we wish we’d booked for 2-3 days not just a one night stop over. Hoping to come back again.

What a beautiful place! Tricia was an incredible host. Heaps of room to relax, the kids loved visiting all the animals and they even helped us out with a few teabags as we had forgotten ours. They helped sort us with wood for the fire too! Be sure to book in for truffle hunting activities in advance as we missed out this time. Certainly a convenient excuse for another visit!

Just wanted to say—Burroman Flat was unreal. The nights and early mornings had this hazy, foggy, almost dream-like vibe. June and July must be the perfect time to go, light hits everything in such a soft, diffused way. Great for those moody photos. And that river.. So close to the campsite, with trees lining both sides and mist rising off the water in the morning. It honestly felt like something out of a movie. Peaceful, beautiful, and exactly what we brothers needed.

Packed up the boys and was welcomed by Scott who is a great host and showed us around the property. Plenty of wilderness, openness and areas to pitch a tent, raise your swag or caravan. We were one of three folks there and with all of the space you felt like you had the whole area to yourself. Plenty of brush/deadfall to collect and have a roaring fire too.

Our group camped with off-road vans. Would get tricky if it got too wet but a great spot at the end of the campground which was well signposted. Felt like we were the only people out there even though it was a long weekend and others were camping nearby. We’ll be back!

1 night at Babbling Brook 4WD Camping

Babbling brooks 4wd is the kind of place you visit and the first thing you say is we're coming back here again. Michele was a great host upon arrival, provided clear printed directions to the site (she even guided us in) We stayed at site 3 which was by the creek (very large grassy area), we had neighbouring campers however Michele spaces out the campers that you don't even hear or see them. (They would have been about 80-100m away) The dirt track in will require a 4wd specifically for the clearance as there's some bumpy dirt sections but an easy drive to the spot. Make sure you opt for the Firewood purchase as you get provided with more than enough, we had our fire raging from 1pm till 1030pm (with still plenty left over). Make sure you take your fishing rod as there is good fishing in the creek. Thanks for being a great host Michelle! See you again soon

Bring your mountain bike, fishing rod, swimmers, hiking boots, tennis racket, basketball (a hoop on the tennis court) or climbing gear and leave the kids in the play area while you sit by the creek and listen to the water tumbling through the rocks. If you are as intrigued by rare animals as we are, then this is the place for you. 63 Bird species, 24 mammals, 16 reptiles, and 12 amphibians have been sighted in the area (Clarke 2012) and this includes many rare and endangered species including the platypus, brush-tailed rock wallaby, Giant burrowing frog, Gang-gang cockatoo, Glossy black-cockatoo, Koala, Little Lorikeet and the Yellow-bellied glider. We only have three campsites at present, so you will be guaranteed peace, space and privacy. with a minimum of 400m between all sites. Please note, that your group must be self-contained, with their own camp toilet, however fresh drinking water is available. Access is into a valley on a well maintained unsealed road but there are some minor causeways making it unsuitable for busses. An ordinary sedan will do for Billabong and Dad's camp sites but you will need some power for towing and a 4x4 to tow out in any rain. Riverbend site is only suitable for 4x4's and off-road camp trailers. For the more energetic there some great bushwalks, including climbing Didthul (pigeon house). Ideally configured for 20. Additional camp sites are available in an adjoining space. The shed has a bar with cold, potable water. A few tables and chairs are provided for your convenience. The lights require a small generator to power them. We use a 2kv With private access to one of the largest waterholes on the freshwater Clyde, you are welcome to bring your own kayaks, fishing gear (license required) and flotation devices. Children are welcome, although must be supervised at all times due to the proximity of the river and steep bush land. Sorry, pets are not permitted with future bookings This is not a party venue.
