As we are located in the secluded and sleepy cane fields of South Ballina there is limited access to shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive.
The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed.
Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

Our two eco-friendly domes sit on a 120 acre property providing a unique experience with a sense of space and privacy that helps you disengage from the everyday.

There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single.
There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ.
There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together.
For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include:
Whiann Whiann Falls- swimming hole- (5 minutes)
Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes)
Rocky Creek Dam, which has walks and a platypus trail (10 minutes)
Eltham Hotel (15 minutes)
The Channon Tavern and monthly markets (10 minutes)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this.
This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water.
Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day.
There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler.
Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road.
You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region.
Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway.
In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

We are professional musicians and love to meeting people. Elphie used to own the iconic Nimbin Rox backpacker hostel, and although Soulhaven is only in its infancy, it still has a relaxed atmosphere.
Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops.
Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle.
This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest.
Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home!
Our place is family friendly and we ask that you keep music and noise to a minimum after 10pm.

Over one kilometre of "Rocky Creek" runs through the Pecan Fields camp area, providing gorgeous waterholes for swimming, walks and great water front sites to set up camp for the weekend! The Burns Point Ferry is the best way to get to us, it runs from 5:30am until 12.30am daily, consistently running back and forth. An approx. 8min journey each way and costs $.00 each way, payable by credit card only. So you can easily go into Ballina town for all shops, cafes, restaurants, etc.
If the ferry isn't for you, you can drive to Ballina via Wardell on River Drive.
The bungalow is located approx. 25m from the main residence, and the campsite is located approx. 300m from the main residence tucked away in the paddocks and forest. We are onsite and available if needed.
Sugar Beach Ranch is an operating farm with staff onsite caring for animals and maintaining the grounds. All care is taken to ensure minimal disruption to guests.

There are 2 domes available for up to 6 guests, with each dome including its own bathroom. Each dome has a queen bed and a single.
There is an an outdoor undercover space including a kitchenette area, BBQ, sink, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave & cutlery/crockery. Please note there is no oven or cooktop, only a BBQ.
There are two hammocks and outdoor lounges to spend some time enjoying the view and time together.
For those looking for a bit of adventure there is plenty to do in the surrounding area. Local attractions include:

Nightcap National Park, including spectacular Minyon Falls (30 minutes)

PLEASE NOTE: This is a "glamping" experience so insects and nature is a part of the experience. The tents are set on a concrete slab which is regularly sprayed however insects will still be around as the tents are set in the middle of the paddock so please be mindful of this.
This property uses Solar Power (not connected to the grid) so please be aware of energy usage. All lights and general appliances are low energy and remain suitable for use over an extended sunless/cloudy period. If you drain the solar you will lose power and hot water.
Both domes have aircon. The air-con cannot be left on. They were installed so if you have been out exploring all day and return to find a very hot or cold dome it gives you the ability to modify the temperature quickly. Once the dome has been cooled down or heated up (in our experience this takes approximately 10-15 mins) you can switch it off and use the fans provided if the evening is warm. If you leave the aircon continually running or forget to turn it off and go out you will lose power and the power will not return until the solar has had a chance to recharge the next day.
There are 2 portable fans inside the domes and a fan for outdoor use for hot days. To reduce the impact on hot days the domes have rooftop curtains that should remain closed along with the front window curtains to keep the tents cooler.
Guests have access to the entire 120 acre property. There is a gate for access to the paddocks beyond the dome fencing. The gate needs to be closed immediately after entering and exiting to prevent cows entering the dome area and causing damage or exiting onto the main road.
You can stroll along the road until you reach the bushland on the far end of the property. We do not recommend walking through long grass on the property without protective footwear as snakes are known to live in the hinterlands region.
Please be aware the driveway to the domes is not sealed. It is a gravel driveway.
In the rain it may be slippery. Parking at the top of the property is recommended for cars that are not suitable for gravel inclines.

Our favourite part of living at Soulhaven is the daily orchestra of birds! Although you will feel like you’re completely secluded from busy town-life, we are only 15 minutes from the nearest shops.
Enjoy a toasty campfire in the evenings where you can sit back and gaze at the stars. There are trail bikes tracks nearby and the iconic Border Ranges is just past Kyogle.
This campsite is 2WD friendly and caravans are welcome. You may need to level your caravan for a good night's rest.
Your pet, on a lead, is welcome to camp with you. We love animals, but one of the reasons we left suburbia was to get away from barking dogs. If your dog barks at night, or is not we’ll socialised, you’re best to leave pooch at home!

This expansive 600 acre farm is a place of joy, sharing and rare beauty!
Over one kilometre of "Rocky Creek" runs through the Pecan Fields camp area, providing gorgeous waterholes for swimming, walks and great water front sites to set up camp for the weekend! You can even see Platypus in the early mornings, playing in the creek. All of the camp areas are easily access-able and flat, usually 2wd car is all you need. We also provide you with creature comforts such as a cold/ hot shower and fresh pit toilets :)
When booking, only book 1 site per group, as the sites are large.
You will feel like you are immersed in the beauty of nature here and yet you are only 6 minutes easy drive from the village of Dunoon, NSW 2480 and 45 minutes beautiful country drive from glorious Byron Bay beaches and it's very exciting night life! On every second sunday of the month, the Channon Markets are on, which is just 10 minutes drive from camp.
Sorry, we can't cater for dogs due to camp being a native animal sanctuary.
Dunoon village is cute yet, very practical.
There is a general store, bottle shop and they sell ice, Mechanic, Post Office and the best bit, you can even go out for dinner or lunch depending on the day, at the Dunoon Sports Club/ Pub or Channon Tavern, then head back to your secluded country camp and cool off in the beautiful creek or warm up and enjoy some quality time around the camp fire!

You have access to the property's exclusive 450-metre creek. Watch the kids play amongst the 3 waterholes while you kick back in our natural rapid bar. This portion of the creek is pristine with gentle sand bed bottoms, so it suits swimmers of all ages; the water is so clean you can drink it.
You might be lucky enough to spot the 3 platypus and will be delighted by the variety of bird song. Explore the many varieties of trees and pick yourself some fruit to enjoy; help yourself to the fresh herbs grown to compliment whichever dish you decide to whip up. At dusk, sit by the fire pit and kick back under the stars while enjoying the sounds of the creek and nature's wilderness.
Stock up on supplies from the General Store, only 5 minute's drive, or for your major supermarkets, head into Lismore, 25 minute's drive.
Visit Protesters Falls, Tehuti Falls, Whian Whian Falls, and Minyon Falls, just minutes away by car. Swimming holes and nature trails await you.
Byron Bay’s beaches are only 45 minutes away. The nearby Channon Pub or the famous monthly Channon markets have all that you need for a delicious, effort-free meal! Visit nearby towns Nimbin (25 mins) and Bangalow (40 mins) for local cafes, pubs, bakeries, homewares, fashion and art.

Welcome to Rainforest Hideaway. Our ten-acre property blends rainforest edges with an orchard of citrus, tropical fruit and coffee, plus a shady pecan grove. Choose from two tent-only sites or settle into the Orchard Retreat Van, a modern stay with all the comforts for a couple. Families are welcome to pitch an extra kids’ tent beside the van if booked together.
• Pecan Platform Tent Site - Under the pecans with a timber platform for a level, dry pitch and a large designated fire ring.
• Pecan Meadow Tent Site - Level grass under the pecans with its own designated fire ring.
• Orchard Retreat Van - Modern, permanently set up in a private nook of the orchard. Hot shower and toilet, power and water, fridge/freezer, gas cooktop, sink, basic cookware, and a comfy made queen bed.
Access: 2WD in normal dry conditions. After heavy rain, AWD/4WD is recommended. Park and walk a short path to tent sites. The Orchard Retreat Van has direct vehicle access.
Pets: Welcome on our property.
Fires: In designated fire rings only and only when local rules allow.
Leave No Trace: Please take all rubbish with you.

It was a wonderful experience! Hosts Ina and Lance were very helpful and provided a super detailed guidance how to reach our tent spot which was actually on top of the hill. We were impressed by pretty clean toilet with a hot (!) shower and a silo with table, chairs, BBQ pit, hammock and a drinking water tap even with filters.
It was a wonderful stay, definitely recommended.
P.S. there is a macadamia plantation there and we've bought the best raw macadamia I've ever tried from Lance.

We loved our 3 nights for our first glamping experience. It was tough to fit everything for a family of 5 (plus a dog) into our car when you have to take linen but we managed! Note they do have 3-4 camp chairs to use which would have saved a bit of room for us.
The fridge and freezer are of decent size for an under bench style so wouldn’t need to bother with our camping fridge next time. There is a nearby general store which is also a bottle shop and sells fire wood which was handy. To have access to 2 domes for our family of five was great. The teenagers were able to have their own space. We plan to come back in winter. We stayed during an unusually hot Easter week with 30 degree days. Unfortunately there is no shade from the hot western sun of an afternoon. The shelter over the kitchen only provides shade until lunchtime and then you are in direct sunlight. Too hot to stay and domes get way too hot with little relief from the air con due to the time restriction on using the air con. We tried to venture out of an afternoon, otherwise we walked over to the other paddock and sought some relief under a large tree. That was the only negative. If you stay during the cooler weather it would be magical. Jane, the host was very helpful and responsive when we needed help or had questions. Overall a lovely place to escape the city and connect with nature. Nearby falls and dam worth a visit.

Fabulous off grid stay 😊. Our kids loved the creek and the little tree swing. Not far from town if you need extra supplies. The toilet and shower make things easier for longer stays.

Our weekend away at Soulhaven was magical! After seeing the lovely country in the lead up to the venue we were greeted by Elphie and a few cute pups. For open camping we had a few choices (open field with breathtaking views or tree enveloped sanctuary), and once shown around we settled into our own little tree canopy slice of heaven. There was both drop toilet portaloos or a central single toilet block with shower (and some hot water!). The owners offered us some firewood and we sat under the stars roasting marshmallows and relaxing away without the bother of phone reception allowing us the unchained freedom of camping life. There were a host of frogs, ducks and birds that soundtracked our sleep. I would 100% be back again to enjoy the tranquillity of their delightful property.

We had a peaceful and relaxing stay at Gracemere Farmstead. The farm tours were great and the kids had fun meeting/holding/rounding up the animals. The donkeys were a favourite. It was also nice to hear about how the animals and land are taken care of.

This was an absolutely amazing place to stay.
Lance and Ina were lovely people and greeted us on arrival.
The space was secluded with a great cooking/hanging area as well as a toilet/bathroom with hot water!
Ample firewood to make a fire, either in the barrel under the silo for warmth or outside for cooking.
The space was in amongst the macadamia trees with room for a number of cars/tents and was a great quiet spot.
Would absolutely recommend to couples or small groups of friends.

Excellent location to spectactular hinterland country. Exclusive use of the site and facilities was a standout and we loved the chic-industrial theme of repurposed silos and metalwork.
And falling to sleep to the sound of falling macadamias and birdlife was a great experience.
Lance and Ina are a lovely couple and are very kind to be sharing their little piece of paradise.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review for Bungabee Springs – Lookout Campsite
I had the absolute best time staying at Bungabee Springs for 2 nights at the Lookout Campsite. This was my first ever Hipcamp experience, and honestly, I don’t think it could have been any more perfect.
The views were absolutely stunning, from the golden sunsets to the peaceful mornings and relaxing nights by the fire, it was such a beautiful place to switch off and just enjoy nature. The campsite itself felt so peaceful, private and special.
Katrina and Kane were such amazing hosts and made the whole stay feel so easy and welcoming. They truly went above and beyond, even opening and closing the gates for me, which honestly felt like premium service 😂. They were so friendly, helpful and genuine, and it really made the experience even better.
If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic and memorable getaway in the Northern Rivers, I couldn’t recommend this place more. I left feeling so relaxed and already know I’ll be back again by myself and bringing all my friends and family with me.

We stayed in the luxury family Safari tent and loved it! Super comfy bed, our girls loved the bunk beds, and everything just had a great quality feel about it. Limited cooking options (just a microwave and BBQ) but we got by with that.
Was a very short walk to the beach, and the pool/slides/cafe/bar were great.
Also, staff were really friendly - thank you, Colin!
Only thing to note is that although the park is very dog friendy, the beach right out front is not - so if we wanted to take the dog for a run on the beach, we had to drive to Patches Beach which is around 15 minute drive away.

I really enjoyed camping at Ballina Beach Nature Park… it’s so peaceful… surrounded by nature, and a short walk to the beach… but with all the things you need… cafe, small store, swimming pool and waterpark, great camp kitchen… and did I say nature, the river and the beach? we enjoyed our stay at Riverbend Retreat, it was a lovely quiet spot. Obviously have had quite a bit of rain recently as river was really flowing (bit too fast for swimming but was slowing down by the time we were leaving) and grass was very lush. Loved the swing!

Weekend Trip to The Jewel Of Caniaba
We loved our stay! We went on the trail walk down to the creek/waterfall and it was beautiful, they had arrows along the way you could follow. Even saw some cows come up to the property and sat with them to watch the incredible view! The fire was also all set up to go. Would definitely recommend leaving the spa until nighttime and turning off all of the lights so you can see the amazing stars in full glory. 10/10!
