Just outside Jindabyne, this secluded site is perfect for a family getaway with just you and your friends. We have beautiful rural block in the high country of NSW. Comprising around 50 acres with around 10 of those being cleared paddock and the balance of bush land. 20 mins drive south from Jindabyne, the land starts at 1250m where our two dams are sited, with the top of the land at 1400m as you wind you’re way through the bush tracks that traverse through the property. The upper dam has been stocked with brook trout making for fun fishing with kids.

Misty Mountain Wildlife Refuge is a 330 acre farm which provides sanctuary to kangaroos, wallabies, wombats, echidnas and many bird species including their habitats. There are Alpacas and Sheep, Kangaroos, Wombats, Kookaburras, Echidnas and many other animals that enjoy this property. The land has 80 acres of cleared grassland this side of the river, and for the adventurous and energetic you can rome the other 250 acres by crossing to the other side of the rive, there are large stands of rainforest and bushland, with 2.5 km of Brown Mountain Creek and its tributary meandering through it. There are some swimming holes and mini rapids; the crystal clear water flowing over the river rocks can be heard from most parts of the farm. The land comprises Little Brown Mountain and has 360 degree views of the surrounding mountains and farmland with wonderful cloud formations and mists contributing their mystery and beauty to the dramatic landscape. There is an orchard with trees producing several varieties of apple, stone fruit and citrus in abundance. A cottage garden produces various vegetables and herbs such as spinach, celery, potatoes, garlic, chives, lettuce, rocket, parsley, turmeric, peas, beans, tomato etc. Past bushfire damage to some trees in the cleared paddocks is evident however, many are recovering well and most provide photographers with interesting and dramatic subject matter. Due to the catastrophic events of the NSW bush fires in this area all camp fires must be kept responsibly safe and no unsafe camp fires will be tolerated. All Guests are required to have an acceptable camp toilet, no holes in the ground. All river access points are shared, be mindful of others. As dogs are welcome and even well behaved dogs will be dogs when it comes to their family, all guests are advised to make themselves known prior to going near another's camp site, then there is no surprises either way. Ingelara Farm is a working organic biodynamic family farm. Located 65 km from Canberra and 50 km from Cooma. We grow potatoes, garlic, pumpkins and a variety of summer vegetables as well as running 60 head of angus cows. We are excited to offer rustic accommodation on the farm, perfect for those wanting to enjoy the tranquillity of country life, a drink at the campfire, bush walks, fishing in our large fresh water dam or as a base to explore the Snowy Mountains. You have a choice of two shipping containers, both furnished with a double bed. As well as two campsites to pitch your own tent, on a flat grassy area near the converted shipping containers. A shared toilet and hot shower is located 80m from the accommodation. You will have access to drinking water if required. Please also note: - Arriving time is strictly between 2pm and no later than 8pm at night . - Checking out time is 12 pm. - The driveway from the highway to the site is a gravel road suitable for 2WD however please drive according to conditions - The site is located near the farm sheds, whilst we will respect your privacy you will be staying on a working farm consequently some movement and noise will not be avoidable between 8am and dark. - You are welcome to try your luck fishing in the dam or if you have a kayak and life jacket you can bring for a paddle, however please be aware that the unfenced dam is a drowning hazard for children. - We provide firewood at an extra cost of $20/bundle - As there is no council bin service available we ask that you take your rubbish with you. - Full telephone signal available for Telstra, however, any other provider is patchy. - Please note that there are farm dogs on the property, and no other pets are allowed.

Weekend Trip to Themeda Farm Campground

Incredible views and great privacy having the whole spot to yourselves. Recommend bringing a gazebo to put over the table in summer as the only shade is if you tuck into the side of the pine forest. Couldn’t find a direct route from the campsite directly down to the river, but it’s a 1km walk or short drive to the steps up near the house (the steps are a hike enough and I wouldn’t have enjoyed walking the kilometre then back to the campsite). The river is gorgeous though. The steps aren’t super dog friendly. Not sure how windy it gets down there but it’s an awesome spot for stargazing and you’d get great sun in winter. Awesome little farm box at the entrance that had all sorts of yummy sauces, pickles, honey and eggs one day too. Thanks Paula!

Erik’s property was just lovely. Natural, unspoilt elevated Bushland, carefully mown walking track and lots of wombat holes and wild deer on the property . Two large dams and beautiful wildflowers. We thank Erik for making his property available to us as travellers. This was our first ( and probably last) HipCamp booking as long term, off grid travelers. I could not get any transparency or clarity around booking fees, until we had committed and the site fees transpired as double those suggested, as possible nightly rates on the “world class” ( their language, not mine) hip camps app. Erik was respectful and very responsive to any of my messages. We loved camping at the Wombat Farm, despite being a holiday period we had the place to ourselves and didn't see another person during our stay. Lots of beautiful wildlife and had a very relaxing trip. Erik even cut out some walking trails for us which we really enjoyed!

Great private spot with good views. Managed to get in and out without too much effort even in our medium car. Unfortunately it's on a bit of a cliff so you have to trek a ways to get to the stairs to access the river but lovely once you get there.

What a ripper HipCamp. The views are amazing and you have the whole campsite to yourself. Great fire set up with log benches either side. A composting toilet if you need. The drive in is down a steep track. You want high clearance. We have a 19ft off road caravan with a 4WD and had no troubles getting in. There is a beautiful , but steep 1km walking track down to the Murrumbidgee River. The hosts were lovely. We have stayed at a lot of HipCamps, this would be 1 of our favourites. We book for 1 night, stayed for 2 and will be back.

Extremely private, whole property to ourselves. We had a group of 9 and plenty of room! Spot next the the damn was gorgeous, the stars were so clear and the sound of the frogs was just spectacular. The bush walks around the property were so pretty and rugged, really showing off the mountain landscape! The sunset from the back fence of the property is a must! Very close to Jindabyne and all the shops there. And the in the other direction the Snowy River was a short drive too. We stayed for 7 nights and easily couldve stayed longer! Highly recommend.

Incredible, idyllic, mini Eden! We can’t compliment this spot enough! We’ve already booked more time here! Enough space for bikes, sports games, adventures, exploring and more! With high energy dogs and son the space Bea has here is amazing! The camping area felt protected from wind with the trees but still sunny enough for solar. It’s so well maintained, clean and tidy and well signed.

We had an absolutely amazing time camping on Beatrice, Tobias, Laurence & Lina’s land! The entire experience was fantastic, starting with the hosts, who are incredibly welcoming and accommodating—they really went out of their way to make our stay fun. The property offers two distinct and great sites. We found that both have lots of free space for setup, which is wonderful. For those prioritizing convenience, Site 2 is closer to the toilet and shower facilities. The scenery around the farm is breathtaking; the lake and the surrounding farmland are truly beautiful. It’s a very peaceful and picturesque setting. One important tip for future Hipcampers: since the sites are located around 700 meters above sea level, it can get quite chilly, even during late spring. Be sure to pack extra layers and warm gear for the evenings! Overall, we had a blast and highly recommend this beautiful spot.

We loved camping away on this farm, it’s so beautiful and we liked how it’s out of “town” and nice an quite but still close for driving in between towns. We got a pumpkin and some potato’s and the hosts were lovely, so nice and kind and communicated with us for everything which we liked. We felt safe and secure during our stay at the farm, we will definitely come back in the future to stay again ❤️😊 Thanks so much Beatrice, Tobias, Laurence and Lina for letting us stay at your farm for our anniversary weekend away!!
