We absolutely loved our stay here. The location makes you feel like you are in a tropical rainforest and is completely private. The amenities for the sky cabin was lovely with a well equipped kitchen and hot shower. The place was ideal for groups and families with large areas to bond around a fireplace and location is a short drive away to activities in the Lake Macquarie and Hunter Valley. Thanks for our stay and we would definitely stay again.

Lovely location (hidden away behind some windy roads). Very well spaced out sites and more private sites further in. No phone coverage which to me is a plus 😂 Owners were nice and friendly. About 5 minutes from town (expect tourist pricing for everything except the pub). Would be happy to spend a long weekend there again!

We had a great 2 nights at Wattle Farm - our first time camping with our young kids. Toilets & showers were clean, checkin super easy and hosts very friendly and welcoming. Sites well spaced for privacy. Only recommendation would be a lock on the family shower room. Thanks for a great stay, we hope to come back again soon!

We had a lovely quiet camp spot. Toilets & showers were clean & tidy & no waiting despite the site being half full. Not to far to venture into Wollembi for a look around (including a drink at the Tavern & a coffee) Enjoyed a relaxing stay. Matt & Jenna were lovely explaining where things were on arrival. Great girls weekend away.

We had a great weekend at Wattle Valley Farm and would recommend this site. The campsites are nicely separated and clearly marked with open fireplaces and firewood available. The facilities are clean and private with hot showers and flushing toilets. A neighbouring wedding venue provided some Saturday night entertainment which we enjoyed but if you’re looking for a quiet site this may be problematic. The hosts were lovely, very accommodating and highly organised with their set up.

We had an awesome stay! Joe was super friendly and explained everything when we arrived. We stayed at campsite 6 it’s secluded on top of the mountain with amazing views over the valley. You’ll need a 4WD to get there, but it’s totally worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

I camped over Easter long weekend. Carol was very accomodating and a wonderful host. Congratulations on the fantastic work done to the property. It is conveniently located to the M1 but also Awaba mountain bike park (key reason for our visit). Campers will find a nice and quiet location, with plenty of space.

This place is absolutely gorgeous, with beautiful dams, sprawling views and great fishing at the river and the dams. The host Debora is wonderful and kindly let our teenagers use her pool and pick limes and icecream beans from the huge tree at the cottage, which they loved. We were all surprised by a hail storm which damaged our cars and gazebo, and flooded our tents. Debora was so kind to let us bunk at the farm and woke us up with warm coffee (thanks so much D). We had a great chat and Deborah explained some of the further improvements she had in mind.

We loved staying at Mt Nellinda, we had so much space and since other campers apparently took our spot, Joe gave us a different really pretty spot on our own. While we chose to stay over a busy Easter weekend, there were enough facilities and it was very peaceful and beautiful. Joe was very responsive and took good care of the place.

Peaceful spot alongside the river, we enjoyed our stay and would be happy to visit again. Pros: welcoming host, private and peaceful campsite, easy river access for a SUP or fishing or a rinse, safe from any major hazards for our toddler. Cons: toilet far away from site, lots of mosquitos early morning and evening, river is very dark so was a bit off putting to swim in but still refreshing, tent site on a bit of an incline which would be ideal to flatten further.

1 night at Mt Nellinda Campsite

We stayed one night and two days with 15 people. The kids enjoyed playing on the grass. The toilet is cleaned regularly with toilet paper and hand washing. The kitchen is small, but it is provided with 2 microwaves, a stove, a kettle, a fridge, and pumped water. The directions are easy to follow, and the check-in process is smooth. We were given the option to choose a camping site. Wood costs $10$. The check-out time was quite flexible, and he didn’t ask to check out quicker. Everybody is happier. Also, they are building the new kitchen and resting area.

Joe, the host, is really friendly and accommodating. Molly, his dog, is really cute. There are lots of Camp Spaces. We had the choice to be in the main área or to be in a more private space surrounded by trees. We could have a fire, and the toilets were clean. The kitchen had all we needed.

CAMP 1 allows up to 14 or more campsites to include caravans, motor homes, large or small. tents etc. with flat and slightly flat areas and close to the roadway dead end street. CAMP 2 allows up to eight or more smaller caravans tents rooftops etc also with some flatter areas. CAMP 3 is a private in the bush area and will cater for five or so rooftops tents, difficult for caravans or large vehicles. CAMP 4 smaller possibly two tents or rooftops secluded in the bush. Some of our campsites/ Van sites DO NOT come with facilities. Please read your site description carefully. We have 1 powered site that is power ONLY on our Dam site. No toilets, showers, kitchen or pool. You need to be fully self contained. Some Campsites are in our lovely small manicured bush garden setting. It's a level, grass/lawn shaded area. There are 4x 15 amp powered sites. Suitable for small quiet groups/ families. NOT suitable for loud partying. The state forest is a short 10min drive away for bush walking, mountain biking and 4 wheel driving. Beach is 40 min drive away. We are located close to the Central Coast and Newcastle. (In Cooranbong ) Some of our camp sites have access to three eco toilets and only one shared shower, rubbish facilities and drinking water. (Campfires) we have 5 fire pits on some of our sites , fires are permitted during the winter months. We also have 2 x 4 star cabins which sleep 15 between them, they are listed separately on Hipcamp. However the guests from both the camp sites and the cabins have shared access to the pool and facilities. Which includes a large under cover patio area. FRIENDLY PETS welcome. On certain camp sites ourSmall kitchen with microwave dishwasher and cook top and fridge may be used . Please just clean up any mess you make. For the next guest All cleaning products under sink. Our property is private so we ask you to contact us first to ensure we can provide the facilities most suited to you. We are located on a wide river estuary, offering sites in open paddocks, secluded among trees and beside dams. It suits off-road independent hybrid caravaners and tent dwellers. The river is home to mangroves (so mosquitoes feed the leaping fish), all manner of sea creatures and dolphins are frequent in drier periods. Birdlife includes an array of land and waterbirds, such as Eagles, Magpies, Kookaburras, colourful parrots and smaller shyer birds. The wildlife includes kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, reptiles. You may espy a Koala along the foreshore. For this reason, while we accept dogs, they must be on a leash (if not just for their own safety). The boat ramp has good access for kayaks/canoes. Or just sit on a camper chair and dangle your feet in the water while watching the mud crabs go about their social business. Riverside sites are not powered and do not have water or sewerage. They are situated within 10m to 25m of each other and if this is too close, we recommend booking two sites. Generally, we prefer campers to be 100% self-contained, with their own toilet. A toilet is however accessible, but some 300m to 400m distance from the dams and rivers. There is cold potable running water here for topping up. Sealed roads to the front gate to access the property from north and south. All-weather gravel road access is available, although paddock sites can only be accessed by vehicle during dry periods. Weather willing, we can provide more secluded sites by some lovely dams, (please check conditions if you have concerns). Local groceries can be sourced from Karuah and Stroud. Activities include: - Bird/nature watching - Paddling/canoeing - Fishing - Bike riding (small motor vessels only by arrangement) - Surface type: grass or paddock leveled areas and others with slight slopes and accessed with 4WD (of course subject to weather). - Generally fair to good Mobile phone access. - BYO or Preorder firewood for applicable sites out of fire season. - No electrical connections unless by arrangement (for longer term Hipcampers) - We treat our own sewerage. - No generators please.

A large sheltered area, our camp kitchen, includes fridge, barbeque, electricity, kettle, table, chairs and more. Enjoy bird watching, visiting wallabies in the late afternoon, or looking for fossils in the seasonal creek just a few metres away. The historical town of Stroud is only 10 or so minutes away if you need supplies. Karuah River is close by for swimming and fishing, and the Barrington Tops National Park is approximately 50 minutes away. Ride Dungog is located at The Common in Dungog, for mountain bike enthusiasts. The area includes 650 acres offering trails for all different levels. While visiting Dungog, there are boutique cafes and shops, a historic cinema, and a lot more to see as you wander through the streets. Unfortunately we no longer have parties, including 18ths, 21sts etc.

Wombat's Forrest is a 30 acre off grid property of bluegum forest and rainforest running either side of Brunkerville creek. Booking includes 2 cabins and an equipped campsite. You will have access to the entire property during your stay, complete privacy. Staying here, you are completely hidden from any other man made structure, immersed in nature. The property is located less than 2 hours from Sydney, 20 mins from Cessnock and the Hunter wineries, adjacent to Sugarloaf Conservation area. You'll love the morning and evening birdsong and be surrounded by the colour green by day. At night, be lulled by the music of the froggy symphonies, watch the moon rise over the forrest, and being mesmerised by the warmth and dancing light of a fire. Wallabies visit at dusk and dawn and a Koala has been heard calling at night. A 1km drive from the main road leads to the open living space. There are two cabins, just within sight of each other, a campsite with an outdoor kitchen shed and a large oval lawn. The Sky Cabin has a very comfortable queen size bed, a large deck, bbq, composting toilet, small kitchen, solar lighting, hot and cold running water, an outdoor hot shower, and slow combustion fireplace inside. The Earth Cabin has an exceptionally comfortable queen size bed, deck, composting toilet, solar lighting, a slow combustion fireplace inside and running water outside. The campsite adjacent to the shed has running water, an outdoor shower and outdoor toilet. The property has short (circular) walks through the bush, and access to Sugarloaf Conservation area (with further walks and access to the Great North Walk). But its the ideal place to just chill. Access from Brunkerville, keys can be picked up from a lockbox at the property gate.
