The land is gently sloping and flat camping sites are available with or without shade and are accessed via Waterloo road.

Welcome to Mountainview at Long flat, a picturesque property surrounded by mountains, river flat and the beautiful Hastings river. Our property is located 45 minutes west of Port Macquarie and 20 mins from Wauchope. Located on the edge of the small community of Long Flat. Mountainview offers approximately 15 acres/700mts of riverside van sites which cater only to self-contained vans. Public toilets are within easy walking distance in the local township of Long Flat where you will also find a great pub and general store to resupply (1 km from property entrance). The property features a gated entrance and graveled road for your convenience and safety. We have 13 designated van sites available with plenty of space for privacy. If you are booking with others, please let us know so we can site you together. We are unable to accommodate tent sites. The river is a perfect spot to swim, kayak or fish with plenty of wildlife around to see, river shoes are advised for your comfort. The river can sometimes be swollen and fast flowing. Please watch children at all times. Camping fires are only allowed outside of fire restrictions. Fires must be in a proper container / bucket. Please leave site clear. If you forage for wood please clear site of whats left before leaving This property is pet friendly though we do ask that owners leash and clean up after their fur babies. Dump points are located at Wauchope and Port Macquarie. We ask that all rubbish is taken with you upon leaving. Please be mindful that we do have neighbours and we ask that you be respectful and keep all noise to a minimum after 11pm and before 6am. Please DO NOT cut through our neighbours property to get to and from pub. This is classed as trespassing and you will be ejected from property. If broken glass is left behind on the site it will result in an instant ban. Ph service is available in the area. Absolutely NO dumping of black water on property. A beautiful little gem on the river bank just on the outskirts of Gladstone. Gladstone has many beautiful little stores and cafes as well as the amazing Heritage Hotel if you would like a pub meal for lunch or dinner. It is only a 20 minute drive to South West Rocks or Hat head and 25mins to Crescent Head. You can sit back on the bank and fish, go for a swim, canoe or enjoy some water skiing and put your boat in the river from the property itself.

Close by: *5-10min drive to the Beautiful hinterland of the three brother mountains! *10mins to the east side is the lovely Harrington with it’s gorgeous area where the river meets the ocean, plus great beaches. Harrington has a variety of venues providing great food (fish & chips are 👏👌) and service with an IGA for supplies. *10mins on from Harrington is the beautiful Crowdyhead with it’s long beach that is 4wd friendly! Suitable for self contained RV’s &/or campers.

We had a great stay for 2 nights at Site 10. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot with a great outlook over the river. Good access for swimming too.. The grounds were so well maintained with no long grass. Easy access to the property via security gate & excellent communication from hosts. Thank you so much for having us. We are sure we’ll be back again soon..

Great open maintained paddock well signed for each campsite and spread out so you have some space between sites. The communication between the host Mel was great. We booked and within minutes received our welcome email and clear instructions how to find the place. The turn off does come up quickly. We booked campsite 10 originally once we got down there there was someone in camp 11 and so we messaged the hosts and we were able to swap to camp 4. From there we couldn’t even see the other group so it felt like we had place to ourselves. Beautiful rocky creek flat then out to water was great to swim in and lots of places to hang out your hammock would definitely recommend staying we were sad we didn’t have time to stay longer.

We loved it there. Lovely big caravan sites giving you lots of space. The site was excellent for a caravan being nice and flat. We loved laying in the river and so did our dog. Plenty of room to go for walks and for our dog to play. We loved knowing you had a locked gate with pin code so you could leave to go to the shop or pub.

Nice and private, ok for large caravans but need levelling. Beautiful outlook of nature and Cows, horses and kangaroos we can see. Close to Lake Cathie and Bonny Hills. We will be back!

Stunning area to visit and play. Very well maintained with sites mowed/slashed and clear access and visual to the river. Melanie went above and beyond to accomodate our last minute booking being readily available to assist with coded access to the property - thank you. If you are using the public toilets in Long Flat just remember to take some toilet paper - the area and surrounds become very busy in peak holiday periods. Ellenborough Falls was a fabulous sight to see. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at MountainView Long Flat.

We loved our time at Long Flat. We originally booked at the pub but changed due to a shift in dates. As it turned out it was a good move because the pub was packed and we had a very generous space to ourselves in a tranquil setting. The river was beautiful and we loved floating down the mini rapids on our tubes. It’s a very peaceful setting. Deposing of rubbish was a challenge, and having your own toilet to last 4-5 days is a must. Overall we were stoked with our stay. Thanks for having us guys 😄

We only had a quick over night stay but Helen was lovely and met us on arrival and departure. The camp spot was beautiful, lovely views of the river and they provide a fire pit. We even got to see a beautiful black swan cruising down the river.

Honestly 11/10 Absolutely beautiful spot with view of the river. The allocated sites are all very generous and allow for easy drive through access and privacy. Sites were well maintained and hosts Mel and Brett were fantastic! I’d also recommend this place for anyone who wishes for security - the coded gate is a reassuring extra. We were able to relax, fish out the front of our campsite and head out to explore the stunning surroundings. The local pub was good too, where we could have our fur buddy sit with us in the beer garden.
