Paris Mountain State Park
Don't plan to use mountain bike trails on a Sat. Paris Mountain prohibits Sat. biking in the park.
Escape from the bustling city to 1,540 acres of parkland near downtown Greenville. This state park was one of 16 built in SC by the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Great Depression. The heritage is beautifully preserved through exhibits in the renovated bathhouse, a.k.a. Park Center.
Four lakes and canoe, kayak and pedal boat rentals ensure easy water access. Find prime catfish and bass fishing at the 8-acre Lake Placid. Hike in 2 miles to savor the remote 15-acre Reservoir #3 lake. A designated swimming area offers cool refreshment in sultry summer months.
The 15-mile trail system at Paris Mountain includes popular multi-use and hiking-only trails. Campers find five trailside campsites around the North Lake Trail Loop.
